1.Questions such as "What is a Stefan?" "What does 'SSPB' stand for?" etc.

2.Maybe a small grammar test could be implemented.

1.But what if they don't know, but could learn? You could be turning away another nerfer that could add to the community.
2.Amen to that.

90 times, eh?

The specific point that I brought up had never been raised on this forum. Unless you would like to cite the 90 incidents in which it had...
edit: The point was that in some situations, you are flamed if you have to choose between bringing up an old topic and posting a new one.

For something as relevent to our everyday posting as the CoC, dont you think there should be an open dialogue concerning it? Is it unreasonable to assume that new users would have something to add that hasn't already been adressed? Would you rather have had me post a whole new topic? I didnt feel my comment was off topic enough to warrant a new topic, and therefore I didnt post one.

[edited because I was acting like an asshole, and needed to tone it down... and for spelling ]

That subject was addressed before. I know because I had it happen to me before.

If you have something meaningful to add that someone might reasonably be expected to give a shit about, there is nothing wrong with posting in an old topic.

I couldn't agree more with the general premise of your argument, but I must differ in the specific case of brass vs PETG. I've found that PETG falls almost exactly between the ID of 9/16" and 17/32" brass and would provide a better dart fit, given your specific FBR.

If there is something you want to talk about that you feel hasn't adequately been addressed in the past, post a new thread with a different spin on the conversation. The main problems I have with new topics usually come from one of the following which I see daily from members who usually don't last long:

1. One line questions where there was obviously no research done. Perhaps the specific question has not been addressed in the past, but tons of related discussions have occurred and it's obvious the poster has not read any of it.

2. Extremely long, rambling posts detailing how the poster just performed a mod which has been described in detail on this (or another major) web site for years. The poster conveniently forgets to mention that they have merely followed instructions that would be sufficient for my five-year-old son. I'm not certain whether the poster wants to be congratulated or has just mistaken this web site for his blog.

It wasnt adressed in this thread, so I thought I would bring it up. I didnt go through and read every single post in the entire forum, and I apologise for that.

In Kingdom of Loathing, to use the chat you have to pass a test that the Ghost of English Literature gives you. It has a sentance that you have to type in, word for word, and you can't copy and paste the line. Trust me, I tried.

Then he makes you answer a trivia question, about what color George Washington's white horse was. We could probably make one to fit Nerf.

But, like Vintage said, what would we do without the silly n00blet threads?

Heh, you play KoL too? My name is The Large Moose. I am a rare item extroainare. Look me up sometime.

EDIT: Just read the date from before, sorry to continue it.
