I'm going to be bringing an extra three people from outside my group. They've never nerfed, but shouldn't have a problem doing so.

I guess you have some heavy duty industrial strength toilet paper holders. Do they advise you to wear eye protection when changing rolls?

My TTG mod.

We have a full car now.

Gunther, are you taking donations? I really would like to help out somehow, but it always seems you're on top of the organization bit...

Hope I'm not too late, was just now able to figure out that me and my two buddies are free to join this weekend! We'll be driving up from Issaquah, hopefully to arrive before 11.

Am curious though, couldn't find this anywhere: Is this a standard Primary+Maverick-only setup, or can we have any combo of Primary/Secondary/Tertiary weapons?

You are welcome to carry as many weapons as you want into battle. You will need a small pistol like a Maverick for one of the games.

A Nerf weapon. Any of the Nerf-brand guns currently being sold by major retailers will work just fine. You don't have to modify it, but you should get plenty of ammo. Also, mark your ammo and your weapons with your initials in permanent marker.

Some people bring another smaller pistol such as a maverick or nightfire in case their main weapon jams in the middle of a battle.

Remember to bring eye protection if you can. It's rare, but Nerf shots can scratch your cornea. Shatter-resistant glasses, safetly glasses, etc.

---------------------

Weather forecast for Fort Worden on Sunday: Mid 50s, partly cloudy, zero rain, light winds. Perfect.
Sunset is 6pm, which is about the time we will be wrapping up.

Gunther, out of curiosity, what ferry times are you taking. As I understand it we both hail from the Seattle area. We're thinking of either the 8:40 or 9:20 to Kingston, and then the 6:30 or 7:20 for the return trip. Any suggestions?

Here's where I'm getting my info:

Ok, so main gun, and smaller gun. check. You said something about melee weapons? Also, i think the 8:30 ferry is the one.

The ferry trip is 30 minutes and the trip from the ferry dock in Kingston to the park is 75 minutes. I will be taking the 8:40am ferry from Edmonds to Kingston in order to arrive early to check out the site and clean up any debris in the rooms. Getting back, I just drive to Kingston and take the next ferry, whenever that would be. I generally stay at the site until sunset (6pm)

Ok, so main gun, and smaller gun. check. You said something about melee weapons?

Our zombie game involves the zombies armed with foam melee weapons (aka funnoodle) If you have a nerf-brand foam melee weapon, you are welcome to bring it and use that instead when you are a zombie.

Bring you camera. Those pictures and videos are worth much more than cash.

I know this is late, but I'm hoping this message gets to someone on the way to the war that can help. Tuna-the-fish and one friend can use a ride to the war from near the Northgate area. Hopefully someone else can swing by and help. Please send a message to Tuna if you can help with this. Thanks.

Well I am glad i could get on in time to read the message, though i don't think many other people will have the same luck as i had getting on. Let me know if anyone can swing by and pick me up. I live right next to I-5 so it would not take long to get me.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT WAS AMAZING!

First of all, let me give a HUGE thanks to Gunther, for putting this on. I've NEVER seen such a dedicated host for a war. He brought cover, bandannas, swords, darts, blasters... everything for everybody to be able to enjoy it enjoy it. Major, major props.

-Recons are the best blasters ever made
-Creative game types are AMAZING (man with the golden gun, the Alamo, king of the hill, to name a few)
-zombies was crazy: people got into it; zombies were screaming and banging pool noodles against the walls, which was REALLY loud
-swat team style antidote retrieval when I was human was awesome
-I'm bringing a maglite next time
-all the pitch-black corridors were awesome
-no one was using douchey guns, which was great
-stock ammo wars are the best kind

I had an amazing time, and can't wait to see the hundreds of pictures taken. Also looking forward to the last man standing video during zombies.

Sounds like it would have been fun, I wish I could have gone. However, baseball tryouts are tomorrow afternoon, and after the last nerf war with you guys at the bunker, I knew I'd be a little sore and possibly tired for my tryouts. Sports come before Nerf wars.
You probably don't know who the hell I am, I was at the war in... November? I think it was early November, yeah. I was the guy ~5'8", was wearing under armour/t-shirt and a baseball cap. I'm a little bit in one of the 3 pictures posted in the last topic. Anyway, does anyone know if/when we're gonna do another one of these wars? It'd be cool to know within a couple of months.

I am in SO MUCH PAIN right now...and that's how I know it was a good time! -_-

Seriously, best Sunday I've had in a long time - everyone was great sports, games were fresh and original (esp. the Zombie one), and I got to use my battleaxe on someone! How often can you say that in normal conversation?

Looking forwards to the next one in October, as I'll probably be missing the April one, and can't wait to see how the pictures came out!

By the way, how do we feel about ball guns? I would argue that they should fire anything foamy, since official Nerf foam balls are expensive, and a foam ball is... well, a foam ball. No bbs or glue or anything.

I'd be absolutely fine with ball guns, if my opinion carries any merit. In fact, I really like the idea. Maybe allowing the use of them will get Draconis to lug his lazy ass up here and bring his thousands of reactors and ballzookas that he hoards.

Also, are there any other photographers out there that took pictures?

Okay, one last request: Could the next one be on or before May 9th? I'll be here for summer wars, but the rest of the school will not be around after the 15th. I'm guessing most of our members will fly home on the 14th or early on the 15th.

The 2nd would be best because it's not right before finals. But we're not the only attendees, of course, so I understand if this request can't be met.

Thanks!

EDIT: I'm going to go ahead and say that there probably WON'T be any attendance from us if it falls on the 9th. I'm not trying to pressure the date at all; as I said, I understand we are few of many attendees. Just letting you know our preference.
