I like it how this is the 3,000th topic in General Nerf.

Anyway, I think it's mostly common knowledge that you should not intentionally shoot someone's head if you think your shot can potentially hurt the fellow Nerfer.

we wear eye protection for a reason. And nerf blasters aren't particularly accurate enough to really control weather or not we hit people in the head consistently and anyone who's a Headhunter will wind up missing more often that they'll connect.

Plus... there's nothing more fun than a good "BOOM HEADSHOT" moment.

Alright. So were all basically on the same page about head shots.

Now what about Cack shots? Should it count if you get shot in your cack, or should you be allowed to then freely kick the shooter square nuts?

I don't really agree with the majority opinion here, but that's purely for my own indoor Nerf Wars in Montreal.

I don't just allow headshots, I encourage them. Everyone is required to play with safety glasses or goggles, or else they're only allowed to watch and participate in the swords-only games. We DO use some modified guns which shoot harder and faster, but we DON'T use stefans, only stock darts. Half the darts are velcro tipped, which might sting more than a suction cup, but it doesn't matter enough to discourage it. My Nerf Wars are designed to resemble living out a video-game fantasy without causing anyone pain. You can't live out a video-game without headshots.

I've hosted 3 wars so far and never once has there been a complaint about headshots or anything negative said. Usually when I mention headshots are worth an instant kill, while you require two hits on the body, I get giant grins. And it's not immature little kids doing the grinning, it's the 20 year olds.

I guess the rule should be based on the situation. Outdoor wars with really powerful weapons and stefans should avoid the face, regardless of eye protection. If it really stings enough for you to care, it shouldn't be done.

Not trying to sneak in advertisement or highjack the thread, since I've only met one other Nerfer from Montreal here, but here's a video showing how we play, and one guy getting headshot with the dart sticking to his eye protection:

We have small indoor wars in my house with stock and slightly modded guns and headshots are insta kill but that is because we use taggers so it doesn't really hurt

Unless you're wearing tight pants and using really powerful guns, this won't really hurt that much. I've been point blanked with a plugged 3K and barely felt it. There's enough layers there to absorb most of the force of the dart before it is transferred to your nuts.

I don't know... I think taking an impact to the glans hurts worse than testicle shots. But then, that has mostly been soccer balls, rather than darts.

Headshotting is fun to boast about on the forums is recap threads, easy to remember, but you feel salty as the person headshotted.

How about this: Headshots with air guns and powerful spring guns should be apologized for since they hurt like a motherfucker and show that you are a nerfer to your teachers and shit AND Headshots that are funny, wacky, rediculous or can be appreciated on both sides should be told as campfire stories. Then nerf. Otherwise, you will run out of nerfing stories.

I say taking head/cack shots really depends on the mood of the game. If I'm playing with a bunch of easy-going guys, I'll pass on the headshot (even if I have to pass on the shot altogether) just to uphold the fun of the game. But when the over-zealous, cocky guy with the full camo and twelve guns peeks his head over that brick wall... Well, that crazy bitch goose's head is mine.

Wear loose-fit pants, you silly teenagers! I've been pointblanked with an overclocked paintball gun right in my crotch, but the pants saved me because they weren't already squeezing my balls.

Headshots are okay, but don't aim for the head. If it's the only shot you're gonna get, fine. Having had too many bad experiences with headshots and taggers, I really would rather not take any.

A few of my buddies and I have wars every Thursday night. I personnally say for headshots, "if it punctures a soda can, no headshots!!!!!!!" That is for LBBs and Titans only, yes, we do use singled Titans in the wars. Then again, as the gun/dartsmith for all the wars( they pay me price of gun+barrel baterial, and the stefans, they keep the gun, I make them and stefans) and also, I build shotty attachments for Titans, so they are treasured in the wars. But we have a war that encompasses about 50 acres(our block in the neighborhood) and we routinely wear paintball masks due to the pain of a close-range(45') headshot from a singled Titan to my forehead. We used to play 'get shot, shoot back, repeat until crippled' wars, but once we all got BBBBs and Titans, we went 3-15, due to Barney impersonators. Welts are very sensitive to prodding.

Point is, I don't give a shit, I say, not in the face! But it is funny to drop someone 100' away, and hear, "Ow, that fuckin' hurt! Good shot.' Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. No eye-shots, I don't care other than that.

Your block is definitly well over 1 acre. Trust me, unless your house is like 3 rooms, and your the only house on your block, then it's over an acre.
