&How is it that all the air doesn't leak out of the bladder and tank when you fire one shot? Does the spring in the air tank have enough force to close the valve even when air is still rushing through?
Couldn't agree more. The reason MSs, PCs, RF20s, etc. get out so many shots is because they have quick-fire valves, designed to only let out a smidgen of air (a Mad Hornet also has a very nice trigger design, the gun is just inefficient because of the lack of a bladder). With something like the one you used, open the valve for literally more than 1/2 a second and almost all your air is gone. You're not going to be able to effectively semi-auto the gun with just a bladder strapped on. The fizzing out could be that the hose clamp has pierced the bladder, but is more likely that you've simply run out of air, as it all leave on the first shot. Put in a stronger trigger spring, and work on tapping the trigger to see if you can get more shots out.
Ideally you'd want one of those valves. That would probably increase the capacity to 4-5 shots, maybe more (if a MS can fire off 10 darts in one go, and that's the bladder you're using, then for sure more).
Regardless, a nice gun. Innovative, clean. Room for improvement -- but then, even perfection has room for improvement.
