Nice to see that some of my research has proved to be accurate. They look nice, but they would need to beat the Ja-Ru brand foam sword price of $2 for me to take much interest.

The back of the packaging might have info on future nerf releases.

I can think of a few ways to integrate a titan or 2k into this. It wouldn't be very functional, but it would be fun to shoot people with.

The only problem I'm seeing is that they're all foam. I could see hollowing out the handle to house the pump in, and then putting the barrel and airtank on top of the blade... Wow. A zillion ideas are coming to me right now. I need one of these and a 2k!

Actually... I think these would be awesome to paint, and have sword/gunblade matches at a war. It'd certainly be something new and creative.

At least, it could be used as filler between the end of a round and the start of the next, when a good chunk of the participants are dead. Beats standing around.

The buzz bee/Ja-Ru brand swords have a small plastic tube in the center to give the foam a little bit of stability. This is probably very similar. It wouldn't be hard to swap it out.

I personally think these swords are crap. I'm serious. $14 for a peice of crap. Who uses melee these days? Just shoot someone, or be creative - in airsoft, if you tap the gun against a person it is considered a "knife kill".

We refer to that as a "barrel tap", of which, Lancers reign supreme. And if you don't like swords, then don't buy them. It won't matter much anyway. Most major wars will not allow them.

Not to turn this into a speculation tread, but wasn't this on a list of patents in the closed N-Strike game thread.It was there along with the spartan and raider.

Thank to shoeshine5 for the patents and slowguitarman for spelling the word "patents".

I could be wrong but i feel like the Spartan was included in those patents. And yeah when i saw that i thought, well i'd bet money the other patents will turn out to be real. so i'm content to wait in 2009 for some amazing things. the blue one looks pretty good by the way.

Glamdring, while I share your enthusiasm about potential new blasters, speculation is not generally encouraged on this forum and several topics have been locked as a result of it already. If you want to discuss the potential new blasters with a specific member, there's no problem with you taking it to PM.

You have no idea. I had to wrestle a bear into submission, naked, and asphyxiate it by wrapping my penis around its neck. Half of the people either crap their pants or the bear mauls them in the process. That was on the first day, too. They don't just hand out badass certificates, you gotta earn that shit.



On a more serious note, I think I might be buying the Thunderfury just out of sheer coolness factor. While I'm not big on "boffing" or Nerf melee in general, I do admire the weapons to a certain degree. If anyone pulls one of those on me during a war and attempts to use one on me, I will not hesitate to shoot you in the face. Just giving everyone a fair warning.

Hell ya, Thunder Furry-Blessed Blade of the Windseeker. That's one of the main things (The name) that got me interested in buying one of these babies. That sword ingame looks so badass though....I'm not gunna' lie.

It's hard to tell if the tip wasn't broken off. But, considering the hilts are different, and the yellow one appears to have a fuller (groove) along the blade while the blue one doesn't, I would be less inclined to assume that they have a similar tip. I'm more interested in if they come with some sort of scabbard.

Either way, $14 is way too much.
