Someone on FoamUniverse found a pair of official Nerf N-Strike foam swords. One is called Shadow Fury ( blue) and the other is called Thunder Fury (yellow). Go to FU for a picture.

Intresting, but not worth 14 dollars. Why would you pay 14 dollars for someting you could get at the dollar store?

It's strange that nerf would go from making toy guns to swords. Also it's a rip off at $14.

The certification process is more rigorous than you might imagine. Let's just say it involves 3 car batteries and a 5 gallon tub of lubricant. On the bright side, no more Moose were injured in the certification of THIS year's class.

Is there any sort of training for the testing?

On topic: I think I recently saw these at my local wal-mart.

Would these be allowed in a nerf war? Or would you need some sort of blaster to be built into it for it to be legal, like the Manta or something?

Darken: I would think these would be allowed at a war since they are actually Nerf and not another brand.

On topic: Great find! I might just have to get one of these.

Not to turn this into a speculation tread, but wasn't this on a list of patents in the closed N-Strike game thread. It was there along with the spartan and raider.

And a pic of the swords if you didn't see them, or want another look. http://farm4.static....707d9c9.jpg?v=0

EDIT: Here are the patents for lazy people:
Raider CS-6 - 76691227
Shadow Fury Foam Swords - 76691228 <------------------Swords are here
Magstrike AS-10 - 76691229
Attack Unit Dart Blaster - 76691230
Slam Fire - 76691232
Stampede Rev 12 - 76691235
Rampage EBF-25 - 76691236

Thank to shoeshine5 for the patents and slowguitarman for spelling the word "patents".

It's going to be up to each organizer. But honestly, if you charge me with one of those, I'm just going to shoot you.

even if you cant take them into a war by themselves,I think a nicely nodded longshot with this integrated at the front as a bayonette rather than integrating a gun there would 1.take the hassle out of getting the trigger system set up like you would on a gun integration and 2. Could just serve as a deadly combo if your upclose and either out of ammo or don't feel like wasting ammo
