Okay, I'm guessing Nerf just released this gun. Here is the link to my mod and small review of the gun. Have fun with it.

EDIT: Changed the link to the NH one. Thanks again, cxwq.

What a sweet find. A new blaster, very cheap, and no annoying target. Nice mod by the way. In the meantime, i better find out where i can get me one of those.

I was looking forwards to Nerf doing this ever since the TT gun set. A new spring pistol with a cool feel and an external plunger rod, but without the $10 target that comes with it. I'm surprised that it only costs $6 seeing that it takes 2 AA batteries. Those are Nerf micro darts I take it? Too bad, because it seems that the larger the stock ammo, the better it works with homemade smaller darts (Stefan micros).

awsome, I should pick up a few of those.

OOO you know what I see this gun having GREAT integrations with? a 1500!~ You take out ALL the battery holders and light crap, use a dremmel or plyers to rip out all the excess plastic. Where the light was you put the valve & barrel, with a keychain ring epoxied to the pin as a trigger. you cut out some of the barriar plastic around the trigger gaurd, epoxdy the thing in place so the ring trigger is about half an inch away from the origional trigger. Then you string the hair house the same place the electrical wires went, down to the handle of the gun, where you put in a 1500 pump or a smaller pump if you've got one layin around. I think that could be very promising.

Nah, 750 would be even better. Relocate the pump in the handle (if thats possible) and then attach the firing part to the light. The challange would be of course the firing mechanism. But a 1500 would be a tight fit.

I'm sure none of you will even recognize me, since I'm an old vet who never nerfs anymore, but I know potential when I see it. As a modder myself, I have some ideas.

I like how that gun looks, the fake laser has potential to be made into a real LAM unit. I bet you could easily disassemble an old laser pointer, remove the flashlight, and install the laser. Flashlights, too, could work. One of those new LED flashlights would make a nice addition, and would blind your opponents. You could even vamp up the current light. 'Remodel' the inside of the grip, and you could get a 9V inside there, offering a higher voltage, therefore brightness. You could mount so much stuff inside that gun!

Were it mine--and trust me, I'm keeping my eyes open for a gun like this--here's what I'd do:

Replace the barrel with copper for homemade micros. I love copper, it gives the gun some weight, even if it does make it front heavy. I'd make mine a bit longer than yours as well.

Replace the trigger spring with a stronger one.

Modify with laser pointer or beef up current light system.

Make a CPVC silencer with spiral porting to fit over the new barrel--mostly for looks.

Electrical tape the grip for better...grip.

Have fun, guys.

Nice, cant wait to get one. When I get mine, Im gonna take out the laser sight, and integrate a 750 where the sight was, and attach the pump to the handle. And then of course add about 5 inches of cpvc... Nice ragor

EDIT: Also, I have a general question on petg. I see in your picture, you have a dart at the tip of the barrel...Do you ram the darts down the barrel, leave them at the tip, or blow them down?

I kept the stock light in because I like it to play around with in the dark of my room, and I'm too cheap to buy a laser pointer. The gun has potential for integration, but the thing is just a side-arm pistol, in my eyes. If anything, I'd remove the light, but keep the extra casing that housed it for the looks.

The darts are micro darts, and look pretty good. I stick just stick these in, it's a perfect fit. I blow stefans down.

The trigger spring is pretty good, already, and I doubt it needs replacement. A silencer of that kind probably won't actually have any performance-improving use, because the noise is generated by the spring, not the air releasing. However, it could be used for looks, like you said.

EDIT TO POST BELOW: Alex, they're very much like the Airjets with a reversed color scheme. They have small tips, and are made of the slick foam.

Yay, i needed to get some new nerf guns. This and the Tech Target Gun would be good. It's nice to see a decent spring gun again. This would look real sweet if the light was cut off and the gun was painted.

All this talk of integrating laser pointers reminds me of a project I did to put a laser pointer in an old NES blaster. I have a how to on the net, it's here. Let me know what you think. Oh yeah laser pointers are available with plastic cases now which would simplify the process.

Due to requests (mostely from you Aussie guys), if I grab more of these, I will probably start selling them. I'm keeping the few I have now for myself.

Indoors, the gun is incredibly accurate. I can nail just about anything. Of course, this is due to the light, but I'm good enough with the gun now to know how it fires. However, in serious outdoor Nerfing, I doubt that any range over 40' is going to be accurate to the spot. Which is why scopes and lights are ineffective on Nerf guns, because they are not that accurate in the ranges we use them in.

I'm looking forewards to a rifle-like weapon from this spring line. I think it's the time for Nerf to pull out a decent main single-shot, if there ever was one. I don't know if there are any others out yet. Only the TT is on the "previews and other blasters" on the back, and this was all my Wal-Mart had.

Rags your site is down.

But, I went to Target today and picked two up. It shoots very nicely out of the box. I actually am gonna keep one unmodded for indoor wars because it can shoot clear across my very large basement. I'm probably gonna pvc mine being as I need to order some petg. Well, of to the basement !

Sorry about the bandwidth problems. I'm looking into buying more, and getting a domain for my site due to the increased number of visitors. I have no idea when, but expext atleast a small boost to the bandwidth by the end of the week, hopefully.

Happy to see the gun is not just around where I am. Good luck, Wask.

Thanks, it fires quite well. Except, I dropped mine. Off of my balcony. It cracked the case almost in half. But ! Good news ! The spring is phenomaly strong so I slapped it in my LnL and it gets much better range.

Besides Wal-Mart, which I would prefer to avoid due to their business policies and white trash... I have reports of Target stocking this gun. My local Target says they will get blasters from "the new line" in on Thursday or Friday. w00t.

If someone with a good deal of bandwidth would email or PM me, I'd like to see if you wouldn't mind doing atleast some pic hosting until Freewebs verifies my transaction. I would like for this mod, or atleast pictures of the gun, to be availible for all the poor kids out there.

With rubber bands, the gun is getting a few more feet. My Wal-Mart is out of stock, so anyone who wants to buy will have to wait awhile.

I could put 'em up on FF. We don't get many hits any more, and the bandwidth resests daily.
