Ok, I saw Dayko's double nite finder. I liked it, and wanted one of my own, but was skeptical.

Then I saw OfAllTheNerf do one, and I thought "Other people are doing it, it must be easy"

So, I promptly bought two nitefinders, some other modding things and alot of PVC tees and PVC couplers as I wanted something to shoot megas.

What I have here is my take on that double nite finder.

As you can see, its NEON FREAKIN GREEN!!! Pretty much my uber color of uber.....ness.

(oh yeah, and my plaid shorts that are hated by my girl)

You now see the maverick I have mounted under it. I wanted some good rate of fire to offset the decent range i get with this double nite finder.

Ranges are shit at the moment, as I was only able to use the stock springs due to lack of funds. This was also only a test project to see how easy it was. Next time I will probably make my own plunger tube and better stuff all around.

Still needs bungees and probably some lubrication.

Thats awesome.
I might have to go and do that now.
The only change that I would make would be to remove the stock because its ugly.

Wow. That looks great! very similar to my LS/mav but you kept the stock trigger. Very clean all around.

Forgive my spelling and grammar. I post from my cell phone a lot. Sometimes when I'm on the can at work.

Ha, nice one man. If you get everything figured out with the springs and plunger tube, this could be a great gun. At SPANO I could see this thing doing well in the tower round. The NF part for shooting the non-rushing ground people, the Mav for taking out the people who rush up the tower.

The maverick's trigger doesn't look to comfortable. I would hook up some fishing wire the the maverick's trigger and string it through the gun and attack it to a key ring next to the NF's trigger. Then just for cosmetics, I would fill the maverick's trigger hole with epoxy putty. Otherwise nice job, it looks good.

I guess you have some heavy duty industrial strength toilet paper holders. Do they advise you to wear eye protection when changing rolls?

My TTG mod.

Freakin' A, dog!

That Mav trigger doesn't look too comfy- when you want to use the maverick, do you flip the whole thing over?

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Very clever and cool looking, even if the Mav looks uncomfortable.

It looks like the sight is a little hard to use with the stock?

I LIKE IT! Very clean!

Spaz reaction completed, now moving on to constructive critisizm.

clipping the mav might be a good idea, up your ROF a bit. Slaping a breech on that thing might be a good idea, and like you said new spring should be a priority.

Overall though thats awsome, expect to be copyed!

FOR THE WAAAAAGH!

Discretion is the better part of valor, thats why I carry a very big axe.

You can fool some people all of the time and everyone some of the time, but you cant fool all the people all of the time, but it sure is fun trying.

What have I got in my pocket? (tolkien)

Answer time

Stock is fugly and will be fixed with more dremeling and goop

Maverick trigger is fine for me. I pull it with my thumb, however, I didn't realize the slide came back to far so sometimes it hits my hand.

Maverick is already clipped, so bwuahaha and has a firefly spring in it.

Thanks everyone for the comments. This was a project to see how easy it was. Next time, everything will be alot smoother.

Venom, this gun was designed for tower rounds. The NF part for the longer range, and the maverick for when you are pushing up the tower.

Did some eyeball range tests last night, and they are shit at the moment. I am very sad, as my single nitefinders get better range with MEGAS!!!

Again, thanks for all the comments. Its a super easy gun to make, and like a xbow or +bow, they are pretty easy to make your own.

There really isn't much to write up. Follow dayko's thing and you are good.

But I should throw up a diagram on where to cut for my project.

Does anyone know what size PVC would replicate the ID of the plunger tube? I also want to do this mod but I can help thinking that glueing the two togeather would just be hell too keep streight.

My plunger rod goes cathunk about half way through for that reason. Its near impossible to keep straight.

Some people have mentioned that their pet shops sell 9/16" petg. In the same place there should also be 1" petg. I've used it to make longer plunger tubes for my nightfinders and I'm pretty sure its the same stuff Kbarker used in his nightfinder rifle.

Yeah the clear thinwall found at petstores might actually work out well. Its the stuff they use for undergravel filters, I think would be the size that would work. I will check this out when I get home. (I got lots of fishtank stuff) It may just fit and isn't quite as rigid as the normal petg we use for barrels. It has slightly more flexiblity so probably won't crack like normal petg would under the same conditions.

I'm thinking that "cathunk" in the middle of the plunger travel is the culprit for your poor ranges. you're likley losing a lot of your gained air pressure at that point as the seal is broken.

Freakin' sweet! I really like the crossbow style plunger and the under mounted maverick. Looks like a perfect gun for indoor wars. A+++++

3/4" thinwall is the closest fit, but your probably going to have to shave the plunger head a little and use a smaller O-ring. Just look up what size PETG Kbarker used. He invented this mod.

EDIT: Nevermind, I missed that there was a second page. Nice job anyway.

I was also super impatient with my goop and it probably messed up there, and instead of using e tape like a good boy, I used hockey tape. Scold me now.

Wait, so you gooped the two plunger tubes together, instead of replacing it with a new tube? That is obviously your problem. I think my petco has the PETG tube people have described. I could sell one to you at SPANO if you want.

Probably the same petco I could go to.

Keep in mind, this was a prelim project. Next time I will probably make it much better, use better parts or just make a +bow

Just some advice to everyone who's painting with thin, light, paints, do a white base coat, and then paint your main color.
