Again, these are back-up locations and most likely we will not be playing there. However, with people coming from so far away, everyone wants to ensure that nerfing does occur. The meeting place certainly has not changed and there are no scheduled events taking place at the school.
If anyone has ANY questions on transportation, be it buses, or metro, or getting to the war from DC, either IM me at crankymonky0 or PM me asking for my phone number.
If you have questions about getting to the war site in the morning, I will be able to help until around 11:00. Unfortunately THIRST and I will have to come to the war late.
See everyone on Saturday.
Anyone coming in on Friday, if you need a recommendation on what to do, happy to help, but I'm sure you can figure it out, it is Washington DC.

I will have one pair of laboratory goggles for whomever forgot their eye protection, because I'm sure there will be someone.
Slug, if you have your modular obstacles still, I'd appreciate if you could bring those.
I don't need to tell you to do your prep stuff, because most of you have already done it. I've already had some people PM me about my cell number. Call me if you're having trouble and I will do my best to direct you...I am not greatly familiar with the area, but I will help you in any way I can. It's very easy to find. If you are arriving before 11, I suggest calling Cranky as he lives nearby and is much more knowledgeable about the area than I am.
See you all tomorrow. Let's rock & roll.

80 will be fine, assuming you're not relying on an automatic for your primary. The field doesn't eat darts and there will be plenty of usable darts on the ground for people to pick up mid-round.I totally forgot to find and test out a ammo pouch. D: I might end up borrowing my Dad's fanny pack... either that or using this M16 magazine pouch. I sure hope 80 darts will be enough. I might have to leave early because of lack of ammo.

I'm already packed but I kind of doubt I'm coming.
If all goes well I might be there.
(Will try to bring donuts for everyone)
Update later.

I just called badger to see if he was almost to my house to pick me up and apparently he was still sleeping.
There is not enough time for him to pick me up and go to the war.
He still may attend but will be coming later.
And as always have fun without me.
I will try to make it to the next DCNO this summer.

I would have stayed longer if the guys I was with hadn't gotten bored.
I can't wait for the fall round.

Many thanks to Captain Slug for letting me borrow his Big blast after mine sat out do to gun-barrel separation issues. I fixed those issues earlier tonight.
It was awesome to meet the people behind the avatars.
Driving around Rockville is hell. I can honestly say that I had no idea where I was on the return trip until I saw the sign for 97 north.

The 10 hours of driving sucked balls, but that was the best time i've had nerfing yet

I only had a 10 minute drive but I also hate driving around Rockville.

My legs feel like they're going to fall off.
I'm greasy as hell and my hair's crusted with sweat.
I'm exhausted.
But it was worth it. Thanks to Hersh and Dean for selling me shit and thanks to Denzel for showing up; I didn't expect you to actually get up at 4:00 and drive all the way down there and back. My apologies to whoever it was that I Big Blasted in the thigh from about 8 feet away when you snuck around the corner with an RF20 and were actually on my team. Also an apology to Steve for shooting you when you were on my team and to Brandon for shooting you in the face. I don't know if you were counting back in or not but I felt like an asshole. And thanks to the Steel City guys for showing up too; I'll make the next Pittsburgh war.
The gunslinger rounds were awesome. And it was awesome when me and Dean almost ran in to some basketball players on the court while running away in one of the gunslinger rounds. That was after Jordan got shot out and me and Dean ended up being the 2nd to last team in.
And I hardly used my fag cannon the whole day; I used my 2ks almost every round.
Great day of nerfing. The Labyrinth is by far the best place I've ever played in. Thanks to everyone that helped set it up.

Not only did everyone play extremely well, but everyone played for almost the entire day. We played so many rounds that we only got pictures of the last round, which was Gunslinger's Heaven. It was very intense and very fun. I'd also like to thank everyone for cooperating and listening to my instructions, we had no asshattery and everyone was very chill. I didn't have to yell at anyone, nor were any officers of the law called to yell at us. Win-win scenario in my book.
Anywho, on with the highlights:
-Actually see that everyone brought their own eye protection, water, sunscreen, and lunch. You guys rock.
-Meeting the Steel City Nerfers (great group of guys, by the way) and seeing their matching T-Shirts.
-Meeting Ryan#####, and having two +bows on my team for the first 3 games straight.
-Meeting bpso86 and Twitch & gang, and getting shot in the head by bpso86 twice (I fucking hate 2K's).
-Seeing Langely and Ompa again. I love you guys. In a totally heterosexual way, too. I mean that.
-Lionhead's Titan. That thing looks like a Nerf Panzerfaust. He held off corners by himself with that thing.
-Swapping war stories with others and giving people pointers throughout the day was very fun and rewarding.
-"Playing Patton" as Kuhlschrank would call it; giving orders to my team and having them listen to & follow them.
-Bunkering a group of four people amongst the modular terrain in the field, by myself.
-Pushing an entire flank by myself on one of the first rounds was also immensely entertaining.
-Having my Xbow perform outstandingly the entire day with no misfires, snags, or issues with the SF.
-Getting 3 extremely long-range kills from my NF during the final Gunslinger round.
-Hearing someone yell, "Quick, rush him, he shot!" and then pegging them with my underslung SF.
-Getting my ass handed to me by 2000's and 1500's for the last couple rounds by Nerf Monkey and OMC.
-Watching Josh from Steel City walk behind and barrel tap 3-4 people after Hersh's infamous "arc shot" on me.
-Effectively pinning the entire enemy team in a corner with the help of bpso86 and Ryan (and our x/+bows).
-Shooting at Langley during the final Gunslinger round and hearing a distinct "ping!" from hitting his belt buckle.
-Fighting tooth and nail to the bitter end and winning the first Gunslinger's round. Great final duel, bpso.
All in all, one of the best wars I've been to in a long time. I owe a big thanks to Crankymonky for helping me with the logistics on this one, and a HUGE thanks for Capt. Slug for bringing the modular terrain for the field, it definitely helped immensely. We couldn't have asked for a better day, bright and sunny and constantly in the 70's all day long.
I hope everyone is as sore, sunburned and happy as I am right now...that was one hell of a war.

I think you're right Groove, 27 was the top number we had.
As for highlights:
-Seeing a +bow around the corner led people to just walk away
-The Steel City guy with the Tek10 (I believe Josh) running up behind 4 people and shooting/barrel tapping all of them, me being one of them.
-Meeting the rest of the nerfers that I didn't get a chance to meet at the last war.
-Devious's BBB; I don't know if any of you went up against that thing, but damn it shoots far.
-Nerfmonkey as usual being as accurate as humanly possible with a nerf gun, especially his 2k.
-Still trying to understand how Groove is so accurate with his Xbow, but I guess years of wars does that to you.
-Learning that Groove might pass through Baltimore on the way to Apoc, which was... awesome.
Regrets:
-Only bringing a pop-tart for lunch. That was beyond idiotic on my part.
-Not having any single-shot springers or a reliable air weapon. The LS was just outranged by almost everyone, and was not nearly as reliable as I was hoping, mainly due to the clips being too flaky. I ended up using OMC's Maxshot, with a coupler that was glued on straight, with even straighter barrels.
-Not having any homemades; it felt weird not having something that I built from scratch in my hands, like at the last DCNO.
Everything else was more or less covered in the thread, although I must reiterate the awesomeness of Lionhead's Titan; I'd vote that as the ultimate labyrinth weapon, assuming you had backup. A shield and a shotgun Titan? Yes please.
Groove, OMC, hope to see you both at another war, at APOC or before that.
I won't be building a homemade for a little bit; checking my bank account reminded me that I have little money for a homemade at the very moment.

Wait, so who was bpso? Show yourself! Another NHQ M&A member I have met!
Phil, Alice, great grabbing dinner with you.
Great to see new faces at wars, first time I've met the UMD crowd and the steel city nerfers.
I hope everyone arrived back safely and I'd just like to thank everyone for the long trips they made, Mike's parents for taking him down here...again.
For the time that I was there, the war just went so smoothly, I can't recall any other war working so well.
Hope to see everyone again soon in Jersey.

It's worse now, i've fixed a bit of the "It Kills ammo with no remorse" issue, so it's getting about 115' now with my CS Darts
And, i fixed the damn bow arms i have on it (Epoxy putty <3) and i'm putting no less than FOUR SMDTG's on it, 2 on each side on the arms
So now i've got 2 6-shot controllable shotgun bursts, plus the hilariously awesome main shot on it
Expect pictures soon
And yes, i WAS hitting people from anywhere between 90-110', including Ompa directly in the shoulder from half the field away
