-The pistol round with Ryan209845278563 where I underestimated my NF and shot a dart right over Steve's head.
-The other pistol round with Groove. Mainly being cornered in the field by 3 other teams and making a run straight through all of them and dodging every shot. Then me and Dean teamed up and were the 2nd to last team in.
-Almost running in to some basketball players on the court during the last round.
-Shooting Hersh after he explicitly told me not to during the first pistol round, and him calling me a dick repeatedly.
-Getting hit in the neck at some point by a random dart from the sky.
-Getting shot by Ryan209845278563's +bow from up on the hill.
-Almost shooting someone next to the portables near the storage unit and realizing my gun wasn't pumped after it didn't fire.
I have to get up at 7:00 and march in a parade tomorrow.

We Steel City people want to organize a war in Pittsburgh sometime, hopefully this summer. Many thanks to Groove, OMC, slug and ompa for making it a great war.

-Kicking Ass at the first DCNO i've ever attended
-Getting CaptainSlug in the head when he didn't realize i wasn't on his team
-My BBB Not exploding the whole day
-Nailing ompa from across half the field
-10 minute standoff in the corner during the first gunslinger round
-Barrel tapping 3 people during the first Gunslinger Round
I look forward to the next one

I got in way more successful dodges than ever before, was only snuck up on and three times (Once by Devious shooting me in the head from across both walkways, one was a barrel tap in the back, and the other by Josh while he was leaning over a railing).
I was mostly taken out by really weird shots. My accuracy for the day was okay, but not great.
I need to switch barrels and fix some o-rings.
I'm surprised I lasted so long in the gunslinger round considering my tech target wasn't working. I was only getting kills by tapping people out.
Also, are my arms really that much stronger than everyone elses? The "watch other people trying to prime and fire the +bow" game is hilarious. This coming from someone who gets NO exercise outside of operating power tools and Nerfing.
Hahaha, up yours Ted.Yesterday was totally awesome. This must have been the first war where none of my guns broke. Definitely the best DCNO I have been to.

Which then my barrel promptly fell off.
My other highlight is I think the first or second round, when I rushed some people with my Big Salvo... I think I only got one guy though. But it was pretty cool.
After this war and being able to test my guns under stress... I gotta say I like my AT2k + CPVC/PETG breech the best. It was decently accurate and got decent range. More than my Big Salvo and reloads a TON faster too.
C_S, those modular obstacles are great and you should definetly make more. Do we know why they kept getting knocked down? Was it wind or was it frenized nerfers?
Well good war and thanks to everyone who let me fondle/use their guns. This was a GREAT experience. I loved meeting new people and being able to go into open conversation with complete strangers. I was able to see a wide variaty of darts and guns. And it was great Though I still don't know who was firing nanos...

The poles were placed too far apart on two of them. The rest stayed together just fine. EDIT: Actually, here's another. During the first Gunslinger's Heaven, I was reloading, and Josh was my teammate. Groove was standing a little behind me, and Josh yells "SAM!", and I duck down in exactly the perfect way and the dart just zooms passed my shoulder. Then Groove was like, "Thanks teammate, thanks."
Other than that, I also really enjoyed the rounds that I was able to shoot one person twice in that round. I think I did that to Galaxy613, Langley's girlfriend, and some other person.
Besides that, I was out more than I would have liked to be, but that's because I often took unnecessary risks. Especially the time I jumped over a railing into a group of maybe 6 enemy nerfers armed with only a LBB and one shot. I don't think I hit anyone, but It sure was sweet.

Hi: Meeting and playing with Ompa, Groove, OMC, Ryan, Slug, Badger, NM, and more.
Hi: Sneaking up on Ryan McNumbers and Groove
Low: Not being able to hit anything outside of 15 feet or so.
Hi: Getting bored of a standoff and rushing suicidally, only to have about 10 members of the other team chase me.
Low: Seeing that my team wasn't coming up the hill to take advantage of the fact that everyone was chasing me.
Hi: Being fairly well aware of what was going on around me throughout the day, except for a few exceptions.
Low: Abandoning Badger in the first round of Gunslinger Heaven after I thought he got taken out.
Hi: Subsequently hooking up with Slug and then seeing that Badger had made it out alive, before going 3v3 against Groove and some others.
Hi: Seeing that SCN did pretty well (or, even very well in some cases).
I'm definitely sore (especially after touring Washington today), but it was a ton of fun and I look forward to attending more wars with you guys.

The whole day was amazing it was one of my first outings and I'm glad the rest of the guys from steel city invited me to go.
Highlight
-Meeting some of the sweetest dudes on the east coast and lighting them up with Nerf guns and the other way around. (I have the welts to show for it.)
-My Effeminate round with the three team death match tapping members on both opposing teams and watching the other team laugh.
-Seeing all kinds of tricked out Nerf guns.
-The last round of gunslinger taking out Groove.
All in all i had a great time and can't wait to see everyone again.
Hopefully ill be at APOC with the rest of SCN and more.

Well, really more a funny tale. But alas, what can I do? Not tell? Heavens no!
I definitely just ran into someone, essentially knocking us both down, or close (sorry, I forget who) when barrel tapping them, as I had to do a quick sprint over there and didn't quick get an opportunity to slow down.
Steve, priming your + Bow wasn't hard at all, firing it though...
I guess wrestling doesn't really work your finger strength.
I'd say I had a pretty good day, only got in like 3 or 4 rounds, and stayed in (while being active) until the very end for a few. I know whenever I was with people we were able to work together well.
And once again, thank you Jordan for organizing DCNO when I was unable.

After attending this war, I now know why the east coast clearly knows how to put on a show. Expect me to be at at least one war next summer, and maybe Fall DCNO. I don't mind making these trips out to the east coast if we have a another war like we did Saturday.
I'd like to personally thank Steve for providing me with the hospitality, transportation, and all the help. It was very much appreciated. I'd also like to thank Dean and Jordan for planning the awesome war. I have never been to a war that has went so smoothly.
Highlights:
-Plusbow working phenomenally and getting many long range hits with.
-Being team captain two or three times and immediately picking people with Crossbows/Plusbows.
-Being picked first or second each round
-Finally getting to meet all the east coasters
-Not running out of darts (although I lost a bunch)
-Seeing Jordan's Crossbow in action
-Crawling under the Labyrinth and shooting people.
-OMC dubbing me Ryan "McNumbers"
Lowlights
-Getting shot in the hand by Hersh's singled SM1500. (Still a welt there)
-Steve and I getting split up because it was deemed unfair to have two plusbows on one team.
-Being extremely sore the next (two) days.
-First gunslinger round was an Effeminate failure for me. (Sorry Monkey)
-Having to wait a while to get to come back to the east coast.
Anyways, I think these are the only pictures that anyone took the whole day. It would have been nice to get some pictures with everyone's primary's in action. These are pictures from the gunslinger round we did right at the end.

Highlights:
Firing a shot at Dean(crankymonky) from way beyond my max rang, watching it arc 10-15 feet up into the air, and then watching him run right into it after dodging a shot from his 2k that barely missed my ear by inches.
Hearing the 'ding' of one of groove's shots ricochet off my chrome belt buckle.
EDIT: That last picture above is literally seconds before I got hit in the belt buckle

I almost forgot one of the most hilarious moments of the day: Finding a "googly eye" dart after the final dart sweep. It pretty much made my day.

I made those for a while as a joke. Glad you liked it.
So, Squishy, did you hit anyone from your 'vantage point' by the portable?

Also an apology to Steve for shooting you when you were on my team and to Brandon for shooting you in the face. I don't know if you were counting back in or not but I felt like an asshole.
That was you? All I saw was the 3 or so people that I was firing on, all running one direction, then I took a dart to the cheek... that hurt like hell lol, but nice shot.
Wait, so who was bpso? Show yourself! Another NHQ M&A member I have met!
I was the guy who was facing off against you and Mike the last round of gunslinger's heaven. I had the orange and green xbow+at2k integration most of the day. I must have forgotten to introduce myself.
Yes, it was an excellent day of nerfing indeed. The drive was well worth it, and we even got to see some sights yesterday (just got back actually, driving through the Appalachians sucks).
Highlights:
-First hit of the first round I played was a headshot on Groove with my at2k, saving OMC from what appeared to be certain doom (I'm sure he would've been fine without the help, but it's always good to help out a teammate).
-Almost the last hit of the last round was another headshot on Groove, with my ttg while he wasn't looking (It wasn't as impressive).
-Finally meeting everyone who I've seen around the boards, and seeing how very different everyone's playing styles are. It was interesting to watch how everyone interacted, and to see how people led their teams (at one point, my teammates informed me that Groove was out and they asked me what we should do lol).
-Second round I was in, having myself, Groove and OMC rain down darts from hell upon a team pinned, involving shots down hallways, under walkways, and almost everything that left our collective weapons hit its mark.
-Hitting OMC in the leg with my xbow, him asking Groove if he did it, then him finding out it was me.
-Having OMC ask me if my xbow used to be Bags', due to its intensely bright orange and green paintjob (and for reference, no, it's my own lol).
-Dueling Groove at the end of the first Gunslinger round, losing, then winning the final round. My knees are sore now.
-Overall being able to hit almost anything with my xbow. I was surprised and impressed at its range and accuracy outdoors, as I've only been using it inside. I was landing shots on moving targets, down tight corridors... it was almost unbelievable. I didn't even think to get out the +bow...
It was great to play with everyone. As we've said before, you're all welcome to come to Cincinnati anytime and play with us, we meet every Friday night at 11:00. Ask myself or Twitch for information.
Oh, and for those asking about the white foam that I was using, here's the link to where I found it: (be warned, the last batch that I got was slightly oversized, so it might be too tight to fit in petg).

I'm still annoyed I left my Crossbow at home, I've never seen so many present at a war before. (Only two members of the University of Cincinnati group have crossbows, bpso86 and myself)
I still chuckle when I recall the head shot from OMC that actually knocked me on my ass; I thought a lower center of gravity made things more stable?
And sadly, I have to admit that Groove, I did not get a head-shot on you. I did however fire a shot from my At3k that missed the back of your head by less than 2", at which point I was informed that you were on my team.
"He is? Oh ...well this is the first time today he's been on my team, so far it's always been see Groove: Fire!"
Badger, I'll be honest I was a little bit disappointed, you're not nearly as old as I was lead to believe; I was expecting to meet an 70-year old bald guy w/ thick glasses and a hearing aid.

Yes, I do believe you got the only 2 headshots on me for the entire day, although I sadly do not recall the TTG one. I was so close to elimination that last Gunslinger's round that I can't even remember how many people I took out nor how many people shot at me. Nevertheless, I said it once, I'll say it again: I fucking hate squaring off against 2K's. They're usually the ones that get me. There, now you all know my weakness...aside from a nicely made Gin & Tonic and cheap women.-First hit of the first round I played was a headshot on Groove with my at2k, saving OMC from what appeared to be certain doom (I'm sure he would've been fine without the help, but it's always good to help out a teammate).
-Almost the last hit of the last round was another headshot on Groove, with my ttg while he wasn't looking (It wasn't as impressive).
That made me chuckle. At one point I had come back from flanking this, that, or the other, to our team's strongpoint and someone said, "Where's Groove? Oh, there he is...now let's see where he goes."-Finally meeting everyone who I've seen around the boards, and seeing how very different everyone's playing styles are. It was interesting to watch how everyone interacted, and to see how people led their teams (at one point, my teammates informed me that Groove was out and they asked me what we should do lol).
It's not the same shirt, but it's the same style shirt if that's what you're wondering. I originally wore a white/navy raglan and went through a wide variety of logos emblazoned on them. Now I use white/black, for whatever reason. With the success of the "East Coast Mother Fucker" attire campaign I made for the ECC last Armageddon (and if you look at the recent CAFF/YANO pictures), it would seem that I have inadvertently started another trend. Raglans as Nerfing apparel, go figure. On a related note, Groove, do you always wear that same shirt when you nerf, or is it a coincidence you were wearing the same shirt at the war as in you picture?
It wouldn't be the first time someone has asked that...nor will it be the last. But I can't help but laugh my ass off when reading that."If Groove was a woman, I'd totally have asked him to go home with me tonight ...is that weird?" ~bpso86
Your highlights reminded me of many events during the day that I had completely forgotten about. I was trying to make sure everyone was having a good time and the pace was steady that at some point after lunch but before the inevitable final round I entered a tired, sluggish state of mind wherein I am only able to recall bits and pieces of the day itself. At any rate, I'm glad the trip was worthwhile for our traveling folk.

Two bites, which I believed to be two normal tick/chigger bites, developed the infamous "bullseye" red discoloration around the bite areas, which means the ticks were infected. I went to the ER when I started feeling light-headed, and they are currently running a series of blood tests on me. I've had Lyme Disease before so I'm familiar with the symptoms. Needless to say, it's not very fun. If you catch it early you are fine.
I'm not going to play doctor or parent here because ultimately it is up to you, but if anyone notices bug bites that just seem to swell or develop a strange rash like I did, I would highly recommend seeing a doctor as soon as possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if I did since I was climbing under the Labyrinth all day. I think I might have one on the back of my neck but I can't really see it in the mirror. I'll have someone check it out tomorrow, and then seek medical attention if necessary.
Again, thanks for the heads up, it might be very possible I'm infected.

Seriously, though, hope everyone gets better soon or isn't infected. Fortunately for me, it just so happens that I got Azithromycin on Wednesday for a sinus infection (been sick since the Tuesday before the war), so that should help things if I did get infected. Still, I'll be sure to do a full-body check when I get home from work today.
Thanks for the heads up, Groove. It never even occured to me that something like this would happen in the back yard of an elementary school.
