I believe the handle disengages the chain box letting you go "Rambo style"

Look at the guns in the background.

Ok now let's examine that idea. If it did in fact prime, fire and reprime itself like the LS, it would just be tedious to continually move that bolt not to mention a lack in power due to friction. My most recent recon gun mod out of its light would have even more distance if i had a trigger on it. It has to push its cocker (which acts as a trigger) causing it to lose power. I still need to get a good clip for it.

does it look like it has a flip up safety switch at the back above the trigger?

think of it like a paintball marker. they can be fully automatic, but they still use a primer handle to cock back that first shot. might even disengage the belt from the gun. I bet the motor simply pulls back the plunger automatically then fires the shot, and repeat. Maybe the top button runs the motor, and the trigger fires the shot. Simply hold down both, and you got fully auto Nerf furry.

What's that? You ask for some size reference next to a greased up unitard laden gladiator? Sure why not.

Looks like the dart is dipping already and its like a foot out of the gun. From where his eyes were pointing, it looks like he was expecting it to go higher too.

Yeah I said something about that in the hyperstrike thread. The only problem I find with that is the distance between the handle trigger and the top button. It would be awkward to hold. My theory was that the top button turned it on and the trigger activated the belt and the plunger so they are synced.

The belts themselves have AR's on them. That's going to be a BnA to get off.

When are you guys going to be done making stuff up about something you're only seeing pictures of? Or do some of you have magical X-ray vision that I don't know about?
Seeing this thread spin around in a conceptual circle-jerk is making me feel queezy.

Until this item hits store shelves I think I'm just going to pretend it doesn't exist so that I don't have to look at this thread anymore.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

Oh, come one Sluggy. You'll be back. We always come back.

I am assuming when the batteries run out you can use this thing like a longshot.

An interesting thought, based on the subject of air restrictors:

If there are indeed air restrictors (and not just pegs so we can't use stefans without a little work, or something like that), then there must be some air to restrict. The Tommy 20, for instance, has no need for air restrictors since there is no air involved; the fly wheel just flings out the darts.

Another nail in the fly wheel theory's coffin? Maybe.

I am assuming when the batteries run out you can use this thing like a longshot.

I dearly hope so, Angel...a 25-shot springer? Now that's something to get excited about.

6 "D" batteries? No thank you. Carb power, baby!

Plus, it should really cut down on the weight (the Vulcan's that is)

Only 9.6V? Weak. I'm pulling out the spare 18V Milwaukees... I think the flywheel theory is pretty much shot, however. Sorry, no pun intended.

Well, you can certainly start at 9.6 and dial it up. Plus, replacing the motor might be an option depending on… a lot. If the motor is nonreplaceable, I'd leave the 18V testing to someone who can afford to burn one out. :P

Requiring a backpack power source adds a certain type of awesomeness.

Ok, i realized something. The magstrike gets ranges of 25-50 feet. Knowing Nerf, thats (25) is the average unmoded range. So the Vulcan may be capable of at least 30 feet. and with 25+ fully auto shots, thats great in my book.

My predictions of the usefulness of this gun based on modded ranges:

60- feet: Useless, just get a Magstrike
60-70 ft.: Okay weapon but not practical
70-80 ft.: Could be used by raiders and automatic weapon enthusiasts
80-90 ft.: At least one of these will make it into each team
90-100 ft.: Machine gunners will be prominent on the battlefield.
100+ ft.: This weapon will be banned at most wars for being against the spirit of Nerf.
Always bring your sword to battle.

I pity the fool who attempts to use a single-shot blaster against me.

Raiders? the football team?

I was deciding on deleting the entire thread, but I relented.

We need a place for everyone to dump crap about the Vulcan. Irritating, but I'd rather see it all splattered on one thread then on the entire forum.

We're watching. We have a hit list compiled. Don't blame yourself joey. It started out as a good thread.

More like
50'-60': Pretty good, usable in a war, good flag defense.
60'-70': Great primary, amazing flag defense.
70'-80': Crazy primary, capable of taking out many many people.
90'-100': Ridiculous, dominates everything.

I'd use it if it shot 40'.
Hook it up to a tripod and give it a slight angle.
Base defense.

Heres how I think the Vulcan may fire. The motor spins the gear. The gear spinning pushes on the bottom of the plunger and creates tension in the spring. When the gap in the gear gets around to the bottom of the plunger, the gun fires. Rinse Lather Repeat. This is the way an old automatic airsoft gun fires.

EDIT: Direction of rotation in the picture is backwards.
