[SHADOW HUNTER ALPHA]

Well, the end of '07 is nearing. Since we did this last year, and in this forum, I figured we ought to continue it. List the best and worst points of the year, the ones that we all remember.

• The Great Noob Influx
• OMC being promoted to Admin
• CaptainSlug and Forsaken_angel24 promoted to contributors
• The flow of new ideas and creations in the homemades and mods categories
• The release of the Recon
• Talio's brief return
• Some great new members joining the site

I hope some of you can offer some info on the wars you had. I was not in attendace for any...

Well, I attended my 1st war, and my 7th, all in the same year.
And I've made a good deal of progress in developing homemades.

For me this has been basically the best year of my life so far. For many different reasons.

My highlight

Getting a call a call from an old friend inviting me to start to nerf again
therefor creating ANU's first team (Australian nerf united)

having a total count of
57 Members and increasing each time (nation wide..)

Not to Forget hosting The biggest public war
(we had 37 turn up and play)
(23 was the expected number)
bbq wasn't enough
( A lot of kids joined in and got their parents to buy a maverick from the target 2 min drive away)
we got 7 people join in our clan ...go us
and a lot of contacts from the parents of the kids who played (for future wars)

Nobody got hurt apart from my friend john who got burnt because of leaning on the grill(minor burn)

The release of the Spider-Man Dart Tag Guns. These guns can be integrated into almost anything, fairly easily. We may see more and more primaries that previously were considered to have too low ROF but augmented with SMDTG's becoming quite formidable. Only time will tell.

Also, on a personal note, attending a couple of wars in St. Paul, MN.

Hosting several local wars. Maximum turnout: 18. I supplied all the guns and each person had at least a primary and a side-arm.

And, my greatest creation yet: Arachnophobia.

Highlights:
Some of my proudest modifications came from this year.

Doomsayer
The Eyes of Fire.
Custom Longshot breech.

As well as doing 7 other write ups.

Hosting my first Nerf war.
Being the Founder of Hell Before Halloween.
Brought back the Canadian wars.

Making my first War video. Hell Before Halloween.

Discovering Stage6 to upload videos that show the same quality they were filmed in.

Other Great mods like: Arachnophobia.
Jaws
Fucking pecan
Volley Titan

Learning of Humans Vs, Zombies.

The last cluster of Assassin Videos including the legendary drive by on Milfhunter.

For me personally...

• Hosted the first Western Washington War on these forums (as far as I know). Or at least, first in a very long time.
• Found a new favorite primary. (Magstrike)
• Attended another member's war.
• Just got a lot better at Nerfing.
• Got a lot better at modding too.
• OMC's PETG replaces my old expensive brass.
• Angel's red FBR replaces my old gray FBR.
• Oh, and we got a Crossbow.

And that's about all I can think of right now.

Here we go, let's see what I can list;

• My friend introducing me to Nerf.
• Me finding NH let alone the NIC.
• Me being well accepted into the NIC (Including confronting a cool admin to get my account activated (Groove)).
• Getting some guns.
• Learning all about the guns.
• Making it through the first semester at college.

• Not finishing my LS mod (AR)...

There's probably more but that's all I can think of now.

The highlights of the year 2007 for me are as follows:

--Stumbling upon the NIC by total accident and becoming addicted to nerf.
--Asking Frost Vectron, Falcon, and a few other memebers so many questions they want to strangle me.
--Attending my first war hosted by another memeber of the NIC. (Cmdrmack)
--Meeting new people.
--Becoming a moderator over at Nerfhq.


I thought I'd throw this in there too. What I want to accomplish next year is:

--Attend DCNO
--With Cmdrmack as my parnter, us bring some foam back to the South
--Finish my Zaxbow

My highlights were attending my first war, holding my first war, discovering the lovely NIC, and doing my first mods. There are probably a lot of little things I'm missing. Thanks, NIC, for saving me from MMORPGs!

The largest East Coast Nerf event in NIC history (Apoc)?
The largest East Coast contingent heading out to SoCal (OMC, Groove, Rambo, Kuhlschrank)
The first major Ohio war since I'm guessing '03ish (w00t), and another one soon to come.

Those are the ones that really stand out in my mind. This is a cool thread.

My group went to our first war and hosted our first war. We also got four inivitations to Deal (which I was proud of)

• Finding the NIC by accident (via Wikipedia).
• Getting validated (thanks again, OMC).
• Doing my first modification with nothing abut a screwdriver and a Swiss Army Knife (I'm pretty sure it was a Mav...honestly, I don't see what's so hard about modding them).
• Finding AT2ks at Kohls.
• Finding AT3ks (apparently the delivery truck finally made it here, or something, because all of a sudden they're everywere).
• Getting PETG.
• Finding other Nerfers near me.
• All you cool members of the NIC, sharing your knowledge and experiences for the betterment of the hobby.
• Having lots of cool ideas.

Lowlights:

• PANO getting canceled at the last second.
• Having too many cool ideas.

Buying a Maverick with 8 leftover bucks from Christmas in March, finding Instructables, and starting to mod Nerf guns! I've had a blast modding them, and more at the 2 wars I've gone to.

• Forsaken Angel moving to my town (no shipping costs on FBR when he gets some more)
• More people getting into the hobby (more specifically, more people in Canada getting into the hobby)
• And overall having a funny Nerf year (cousin getting sacked by big blast, getting bored and firing my titan at my same cousin, etc.)

I'll try my best to take up alchemy and get some money for exchange for my soul or my dog so I can do my first writeup this year too.

Woah woah woah. Lets get something straight.

Just because you singled the Rapid fire pump action shotgun, It does not mean you turned it into a Doomsayer.

Now If you were to actually take a Doomsayer and then single it. Well, such a crime is punishable by death.
