When and Where
Saturday, February 28th, 2015
10AM to 5PM

Eisenhower Park
1899 Hempstead Turnpike
East Meadow, NY 11554

Yes it's Happening
Wear Tall snow boots, waterproof snow pants and all the accoutrements listed below. Also bring a change of pants and shoes so you can change before you need to journey home soaking wet from the snow. Here's the weather forecast. No more significant snowfall and it won't be brutally cold like the last couple of weeks.

Posted Image

We will meet in the area indicated on the photo above. This park is huge, bigger than central park in terms of raw area. Look for the nerds in the Southeast corner of the park. The area where we will be nerfing is roughly in the area adjacent to the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Park Boulevard.

Directions

Posted Image

If you are coming from the Northwest, Take Park Boulevard all the way to the end, and swing a right just before you exit the park. If you are coming from the Southeast or Southwest, just turn into the park from Hempstead Turnpike and then make a left into the field we'll be playing in.

Rules
- Must be 13 or older
- EYE PROTECTION IS MANDATORY.
- Absolutely no shooting, pointing blasters at non-players.
- Be respectful of players and non-players alike. If we need to move, we move.
- If you get hit, cowboy up and take the hit. Rounds go pretty fast anyway.
- No facemasks, camo, or super tactical clothing.
- You WILL dart sweep
- Avoid headshots

What to Bring
- Some cash, like $5 for pizza; There is a really good pizza place a couple blocks away where I can pick up some pies.
- Eye protection. It's important.
- At least two primary blasters. I will have my usual assortment of blasters, but please do not rely on me, I am going to be supplying blasters and darts for three other locals besides myself and I simply cannot supply for everyone. Many people there will be using homemades, but if you have a modded Rapidstrike or Longshot or something, rock on.
- Water or gatorade. You still sweat in the cold. Dress heavier than you need to, you can always take off a layer.
- Cold weather clothing. Temperature will be between 25 and 35 degrees Fahrenheit based on weather averages.
- A scarf, a hat, and gloves. Your neck is the first thing to get cold. If it gets warm, you can always take it off.

Blasters
- ABSOLUTELY NO BLACK PAINTED BLASTERS. A little orange tip is not enough. Blasters should be bright colored or not painted at all for homemades. If this is a problem, your blaster will be mummified in orange tape upon arrival. Also no blasters that resemble paintball guns.
- Don't bring any homemade airguns. All airguns should have an OPRV.
- If you have a derpy blaster like a rocket launcher, bring it. Fun things usually happen.

Darts
Slugs Only. No exposed metal. Only a single #8 or #6 washer may be used for mass. No glue domes. Stock Hasbro Nerf darts are cool too.

Games
- Lots of 3-15 Team Deathmatch

- Wingman Deathmatch

I will definitely be there. Hopefully since it's two months away I can start dartsmithing now and have enough stefans.

Also, I can bring a few loaner homemades & barrel systems if you want.

Or hell, Spiderbite has sweet deals on this stuff now, so there's really no reason not to Rainbow.

As long as you're comfortable with people using them, it would be a big help.

I may be able to, if someone from NYC is coming and willing to meet up I can come.

If there is somebody coming from the West that's nice enough to pick you up that would be awesome.

Eh those are ok; they are inevitable. Basically don't be an asshat, no plugged 4Bs or titans, etc.

Thanks.

Thanks, yea it's just a big hassle to have to find a spring with the right load to reinstall in the pump as opposed to just plugging it altogether. Panthers are pretty safe for the most part.

Eh, probably not. It's kind of like how every war advertises it will have a pistol round, but never really happens because nobody has pistols. Bring it and we'll see.

Eww no, this is the Northeast. JK, but in all seriousness, the problem with awfuls rounds is that they are a complete waste of time. Many of us travel for hours so we can play with good blasters and competition. Awfuls are fun if you live near the war or host it, else they just rob you of time that could have been used for standard rounds.

Game types are on the first post. No awfuls rounds. No melee/blaster-free rounds.

I've never seen these darts and I know rubber is not the most pleasant thing to get hit with, especially at low temperatures when it hardens up, so I'm going to say no. The "slugs only" rule helps to eliminate the problems with different ammo types. Bring a few rubber tipped darts just so we can inspect them, but slugs are what will be used here.

I think he meant FVJs (Full Vinyl Jacket) and they can hurt if you fire them from high powered stocks, but they don't work well in homemades, and the It hurts more with homemades anyway.

Aeromech, what are your plans for weather, for instance if there is 10" of snow on the ground?

Fuck that, trod in the snow and bring boots lol. Dart recovery will be crap, bring some extra clothes, weather isn't a reason to stop playing. It makes it just that much more intense, plus the park will be empty so no bystanders!

If they are fired from Hasbro blasters, then sure. If they are launched from homemades, then no. I'm trying to keep weird darts from going 250 FPS at my face.

Aeromech, what are your plans for weather, for instance if there is 10" of snow on the ground?

We will move it two weeks into the spring if weather or conditions are bad. If there is only an inch or two of powder on the ground or something like that, we will play, but I don't think anyone wants to play (or drive for that matter) in blizzard conditions.

Only 10" on the ground would be fantastic, that's practically nothing.

There was a BFNY war held with about 6" on the ground and it was no different from any other war, just with boots. Can't live in the northeast without something like these. I'd obviously prefer to play regardless of snow depth as long as the roads are clear. If the roads are bad, including freezing rain, that's another story.
