Eh?

It's a gatling gun for nerf. It's been done for bullets, air soft bb's, nerf, what next? ^_^

Super Soakers dominate the summer. It's when it gets cold again that kids get their parents to take them to the store to get some more toy guns. B)

No it's so you can connect them to a titan and make a 20 pound unusable weapon.

^It's very similar.

One clip is held in the back for storage (for little kids who wear shorts without pockets  ). Each clip holds 6, you say, so you have to switch clips after 6 shots. You can say the gun holds 12, but you could also say the firefly holds 16 (ammo holders).

Kitty!
Is the SCAR able to shoot through a paper?

You can really just make it out of balsa wood. That's what I'd do. Take a look at some other clips/mags (Ompa, Renegade, etc.) and see how they did it. Personally, I think there is an easier way to go about all this, but that's just me (and no offence).

Edit: Take a loot??

SKIZ, it depends on what kind of range you want, and what type of valve you will be using. Turning the whole stock into a PC would result in very high ranges, but would require a MASSIVE air tank to supply (unless you plan to pump it manually each shot).

Kill sports games, kill EA, and kill Microsoft (free Bungie!!).

Wii all deh way.

How does the drum rotate? I can't quite see the top part clearly. I see a triangle, though.

#75422 Canon Ammo?

Posted by m15399 on 06 March 2006 - 07:52 PM in Homemades

Ya, whatever.

Sponge, sprinkler valves open quicker than ball valves, so they get more range out of your gun. Here's a link.

Posted by m15399 on 05 March 2006 - 10:49 PM in Homemades

You would need some LRT from McMaster.com. It can hold much more than a super soaker's CPS PC. The splashzooka would be far from a good choice (it's not so good compared to other CPS's).

#75406 Canon Ammo?

Posted by m15399 on 06 March 2006 - 06:25 PM in Homemades

Oh, sorry. :nugget: Guess no one knows what that is...

LRT is short for Latex Rubber Tubing. It's basically a tube made of rubber that expands. You find things like these in Powerclips, Wildfires, RF20's, and probably some other ones. They are only rated for 35 PSI, so it's unlikely you would get 100+ without a better valve and larger PC/shorter barrel.

#73815 Vidio Games

Hmm, Zelda the Minish cap is the best 2D "vidio" game I've ever played. The other Zelda games are always up there. My favorite game would have to be Battlefront 2.

NH, unlike NHQ or many other forums, has much less posting activity

I am a member of three super soaker forums, and the amount of posts NH gets per day is about twice as much as all the posts the three super soaker forums got combined per day around July/August. Within the genre (Toy Guns), NH is very active.

If I were you I would use an o-ring. The gasket just looks like it's asking for squeaky trouble. :w00t:

To answer first question:
Why would you want to? It's simpler just to glue it all.

I was talking to general. :w00t:

I'm not saying the seal is bad, I'm saying that because the cup goes forward, it might reduce the speed of the plunger.

#77315 Syringe Popgun

A vertical clip would probably be easier to build than a drum mag. Isn't there some Nerf gun that was made a few years ago that worked like this? Chainblazer? As you can see, I don't know my Nerf guns...

#91829 My First Homemade

Posted by m15399 on 12 October 2006 - 08:08 PM in Homemades

So far it shoots about 300' with the mega missles, 50 pumps with the bike pump, and a 10 degree angle.

How did you measure this? I'm sorry to say that nerf guns with bigger tanks and better valves have not acheived 300 feet at a 10 degree angle with heavily weighted nerf micros. No offence, but I am skeptical. Try shooting it across a football field (300 feet).

Nice job, nevertheless. Looks pretty sweet.

#80124 Full Auto

Posted by m15399 on 16 April 2006 - 04:22 PM in Homemades

You do not need plastic molds and such. Doom has made one with the normal homemade parts. Don't be lazy! There are easier ways around everything.

#80106 Full Auto

Posted by m15399 on 16 April 2006 - 12:59 PM in Homemades

I have no idea what you're talking about. How would a check valve close the valve? Are you sure you're talking about check valves? You might be refering to an over pressure release valve, which is sometimes called a check valve in modding.

#80129 Full Auto

Have you seen Doom's? It's not in the least bit fragile or heavy. Here's a pic:

Sorry, it's a bit big...

#80011 Full Auto

Posted by m15399 on 15 April 2006 - 02:58 PM in Homemades

That just depends on what you consider auto. That gun would work for my full auto purposes:
1. Mowing down large amounts of enemies
2. ...You mean there are more uses for auto?! No number two.

The difference between shoving darts in a barrel and calling it auto and the 3DBBQ design is the way the barrel is made. There is a reducer in BBQ's which makes the darts more spread out and less shotgunned.

#80006 Full Auto

Posted by m15399 on 15 April 2006 - 01:22 PM in Homemades

Shot gun effect would shoot them all out at the same time. When you watch the video, the darts are spread out and it would look like auto to me if more darts came out.

#80098 Full Auto

Posted by m15399 on 16 April 2006 - 10:54 AM in Homemades

Why do you need a check valve? That would only reduce the velocity of the air.

#79998 Full Auto

Posted by m15399 on 15 April 2006 - 12:21 PM in Homemades

http://www.nt3.idv.t...ch/ur1/ur1.htm#

The first barrel design on the first page is the one used in the gun.
The second is the valve, and how to connect it to PVC.
The third is the video.

A longer barrel and bigger PC should work as full auto.

#68566 Special Ammunition

Posted by m15399 on 29 November 2005 - 06:00 PM in General Nerf

The point was he already has the launcher and is looking for ammunition. You would have to mod the launcher to be able to use a different sized barrel. I know I wouldn't want to mod a paintball launcher (probably cost an arm and a leg).

#68537 Special Ammunition

Posted by m15399 on 28 November 2005 - 07:53 PM in General Nerf

If you wanted the Douch to shoot stefans... Just build a ball valve homemade with a huge pressure chamber and a 10 ft. barrel :P
It's basically the same thing.

#68506 Special Ammunition

Posted by m15399 on 27 November 2005 - 10:19 PM in General Nerf

Try putting a whole bunch of shotgun stefans (short ones) in a plastic cup cut down to fit the barrel. You could also put something like a tennis ball (tennis ball won't work) down the barrel with a million stefans in front of it.

Oops, Dux beat me. But, the paper cup used in the "Douch" is the same idea.

#68984 Self-propelled Arrows/missles?

Posted by m15399 on 10 December 2005 - 01:07 PM in Homemades

Or you could have a homemade that pinches the end of the bladder and releases it at the pull of the trigger. It would be extremely innacurate in any case (come to think of it it wouldn't go very far at all, either). If you figured out how to make a very small nerf grenade and used it as a nose cone type thing on the rocket, it could be slightly useful. You really need a longer lasting, more powerful propellant.

#69000 Self-propelled Arrows/missles?

Posted by m15399 on 10 December 2005 - 05:41 PM in Homemades

A nail can't pierce a co2 canister, if that's what you're saying.

#68989 Self-propelled Arrows/missles?

Posted by m15399 on 10 December 2005 - 02:14 PM in Homemades

Those are not self-propelled. They would probably work better, though.

#69051 Self-propelled Arrows/missles?

Posted by m15399 on 11 December 2005 - 07:01 PM in Homemades

PVC is not light enough. You would need to use something of PTEG weight. Even a metal nail is too heavy. Also, you won't be able to shoot anything with by pumping air into a pipe. You need some kind of rubber bladder to push out all the air.

You aren't going to get any range with air pressure (self-propelled). You need an estes type engine without as much power.

#69260 Self-propelled Arrows/missles?

Posted by m15399 on 15 December 2005 - 12:12 AM in Homemades

You're confusing weight and mass, here. A floating stefan has no weight, but it still has mass. If you made a stefan out of a helium filled tiny mylar balloon with an exact amount of weight (no pun intended) added, such as tape wrapped around it, to equilize gravity, it would have reasonable mass and would (ideally) float forever, making it go for a very long ways. Due to air resistance, it would slow down very quickly because it would have less mass than an ordinary stefan, but it would still travel farther.

#69242 Self-propelled Arrows/missles?

Posted by m15399 on 14 December 2005 - 09:29 PM in Homemades

I realize this is Nerf, but I must adress this comment.

I'd figure that making any dart have no weight (and thus float) would also make it worthless

It has nothing to do with density. It has to do with the mass and the shape of the object (air resistance).

#69173 Self-propelled Arrows/missles?

Posted by m15399 on 13 December 2005 - 10:23 PM in Homemades

"I want to add a helium-filled water balloon to a stefan, so it'll counteract the force of gravity just enough so that it'd float forever, thus having incredible ranges. It'll work...right?"

That can be done, but not in the way you described. It would be a waste of time but it would get incredible ranges. B)

#69346 Self-propelled Arrows/missles?

Posted by m15399 on 16 December 2005 - 07:21 PM in Homemades

bloody impossible anyway, the thing will ether have slightly negitive weight or slightly positive weight

We're talking theoretically here. Notice I said "ideally".
All that I'm saying is it can be done. Maybe not with helium and maybe not with a stefan, but it is possible to make a projectile that does not have weight (theoretically).

In other words, let's stop discussing a pointless subject

I wouldn't call it pointless, but if it seems to bother everyone so much I'll stop talking.

Ya frames are annoying. Thanks for changing them! If I were you I would compress the background image since I have to wait for about 5 seconds for it to load before I can do anything. Higher res might be good for some people who want to see them better, but make sure to keep the small ones for dial up users and people who are just browsing.

#77300 The Snap-3

Posted by m15399 on 23 March 2006 - 01:48 AM in Homemades

All right then be picky. ;)
You can make the hopper vertical for better feed.

You speak from expirience? Got any pics of your hopper? What exactly was wrong with it?

In my humble opinion, Ompa's clip is the best. Negligible range reduction, same ROF as the far, and MUCH simpler to build.

Edit: By the way, you're talking to me like I'm a three year old, and I've been here twice as long as you have.

#77297 The Snap-3

Posted by m15399 on 23 March 2006 - 12:58 AM in Homemades

Lookin' good, as always. The trigger looks much sturdier than the original clothespin trigger.

Any progress on the clip/thing? I really liked the fact that the old ones were so simple. You could do something like the Rclip v2, except use yout hopper instead of a peice of pipe. I'll try and explain visually what I'm thinking about.

That's the most baddest drawing ever FYI.

Posted Image

The back peice of brass/barrel material would need some electrical tape to make a good seal with the rest of the PVC (not shown). It's reversed so that you can connect it to the charging rod.
