This isn't really that special, or original but I thought I'd post it anyway. It's my first attempt at successfully making an air powered homemade. It's a very basic concept. The body of the gun is the air chamber. out of the back is an end cap where I put in a schrader valve so it can easily be pumped up via bike pump or air compressor. I just bought a new air compressor last night that is battery powered and can be easily taken around on the battle field. It can be put inside a backpack for mobility or just as it is now. Here it is.

Despite the size of this gun, I still think it can be used during a war. I would have another man covering me with something that has a high rate of fire, and sidearm. The only way this would work is having either a fixed place, or a portable bunker. I am still in the process of constructing one of those. Anyway, the air chamber hooks to the trigger which is a simple ballvalve located just before the barrel. The barrel itself is about 3' long and 1/2" PVC. There is also PETG nested inside the inside of the barrel for the ability to shoot micros. The rest of the gun is constructed from 1" PVC. I used PVC cement for all the joints. So far, it has held together very well. The best thing about this gun is that it can shoot multiple types of ammo. It shoots arrows, micro darts, and I just made a titan mega missle attachment. I made a customary bipod for the gun with is constructed from 3/4" PVC. Here are the pics.

I also just loaded up a video. Here is that.

Video - Click Here

As you can see in the video, the missle landed somewhere in that tree. I found it about 10' up there. So far it shoots about 300' with the mega missles, 50 pumps with the bike pump, and a 10 degree angle. It will be awesome soon as I get my air compressor. The ranges with micros are still undetermined. I have yet to find where the darts lands, so it's kinda hard to measure when you can't find the darts.

Just want to let everyone know I plan on bringing this to Farmaggedon this summer, so watch out.

This is Nerf. Overkill is a good thing. :P

Your Photobucket account is set to private, I have to log in to see it...under your name.

But it looks really nice. Basic and simple, but effective. It would be really fun to load it all up with shotgun Stefans, say about a dozen, and actually use it in a war.

Thanks.

I set it to public so now everyone can see it. Shotgunning would be a great idea. I might consider actually doing that. I could just see myself hitting 3 people at a time while I launch 10 darts at a time.

That is awesome. How did you use a bike tire valve or a car tire valve? How did you glue the bike/car valve to the endcap?

Is this the same thing you have?

WHAT!!!
That air backlash right after the missle left the barrel is crazy!
Now have you done the true nerfer test and shot your self with the gun?
If not that thing better stay at home and not shoot anyone.

I used a bike tire valve. I attached it on the endcap by using plumber's goob. It was really easy to achieve a seal.

And yes, that is the same air compressor I just bought.

It is crazy. The recoil from where I was holding it pushed me back a little when I shot it.

I have shot my brother with it from about 100' away. I wouldn't want to get any closer than that. I guess it couldn't hurt that much since it is just a big hunk of foam.

Woah!! Dude!! B) B) B) B) that is amazing and yet I dont get it! I seems to me like it is just a simple and nicely done ball-valve gun, the tank is not overly huge, and yet it is one of the most powerfull nerf guns I have seen! Unless you pump it up to like a billion psi it amazes me that you get such power and range. You did say you pumped it up 50 times but to me it still seems incredible. Whats your secret?

Ever seen a potato cannon? those things can just about take down low flying aircraft, and a potato has a lot more mass to be acted upon. That thing has a massively long barrel. ie. It is being excelerated by the decompressing air for quite a good period of time, relatively speaking of course. I'm assuming ythe dart is shoved all the way down the barrel correct?

The barrel itself is about 3' roughly. I have to ram rod everything, which is a pain. I plane on making another one of these with a slightly larger airtank, breech, and a sprinkler valve instead of a ball valve so I can realease the air faster.

How did you measure this? I'm sorry to say that nerf guns with bigger tanks and better valves have not acheived 300 feet at a 10 degree angle with heavily weighted nerf micros. No offence, but I am skeptical. Try shooting it across a football field (300 feet).

Nice job, nevertheless. Looks pretty sweet.

That's exactly how I measured this. I was about 50 yards off of the field. You figure the endzones are 10 yards long, and it shot about 40 yards or more past the endzone. It's all eyeballed ranges, so I am saying 300' as an acurate guess.

Just to let you know, this isn't a Nerf gun. So you can't compare it to one. The airtank on this thing is huge compared to a regular Nerf gun. These ranges are also not with micros, but with titan missles. Just because a Nerf gun hasn't got 300' doesn't mean I can make something that resembles a "Nerf" gun that shoots Nerf things much farther than a Nerf gun.

I can see why you would be skeptical. 300' is pretty far for something to be shooting anything the pertains to Nerf.

I'd also like to let everyone know that I shot my brother with this, again. He volunteered to be shot at 5 feet away with a titan missle. He told me it didn't hurt more than someone throwing a tennis ball at him. So this thing is actually safe. I don't know about shooting darts with this thing though. I just bought some super tough foam that should withstand the pressure from this gun. Hopefully I can get it to shoot darts successfully without blowing them to shreds.

I'm probably sure it isn't legal. But who cares. If I could shoot this to Wheaton, I'm sure I could shoot it to your house.

Soon as I get my new foam in, I'll try shooting micros with this gun. I'm also working on a newer version with a sprinkler valve.

I am extremely skeptical as well. I made a very powerful homemade that has a large chamber (~20 cubic inches) and definitely has a better valve (homemade semi-auto). I did some tests using very heavy homemade darts with 2" long bolts as weights. The best range I could get was 250 feet with these extra-heavy darts using about a 45 degree angle. Can you test your gun another time to accurately measure the range?

The homemade definitely has enough power behind it. Its chamber is definitely quite large. But the valve is horrible. Ball valves open extremely slowly. The really long barrel could cancel out the bad valve selection though. Again, the only thing that I can recommend is a retest.
