Posted by b1g13en on 08 July 2013 - 09:30 PM in General Nerf
Has anyone ever used a Rockwell RK7321 BladeRunner for homemade nerf applications. I would like to use it for making straight cuts and
barrel spacers. Any input is appreciated

Thank you for replying. Do you have trouble making small external cuts for like triggers or catch plates?I have one and use it for all cuts I make pretty much. The only think I have found is that it is not going to perform small internal cuts very well.

The firefly darts uses a sticker that wraps around the dartI realize that it would be way to much weight for a dart. With that being said it confuses me how Nerf used their glowing dart for the firefly.

If you were thinking of not use a link breech maybe you can try using a breech where the polycarb are over lapped one of them. This way you can fire and load the top breech without opening the second one. Also you still can open both breeches by sliding the bottom breech. In this setup you still get a single and a link feel to the breech.

Did you took out the check valves from the original tanks? If you did then did you put check valves on the tubing?
[/quote]
The check valves I used are from Petco. I just put them in the tubing between the "T" and the tank expansions. I kinda zipped through that section of the write up so I am sorry the clarity is lacking.

Is the check valve the blue thingy before the T? I asked because if you shot the first tank what is keeping the second tank from leaking into the first one?

Have you tried putting the cpvc with blanks in them and heating it in the dryer?I tried heating some cpvc barrel material with a common coffee warmer instead of metal on a cooktop. I had some (19!) barrels cut to 2 1/2" for an absolver. There's a rubber band holding them together. The warmer is not a particularly powerful one. I tried mine on high and it deformed a few barrels so I would stick to low at first. In usage I found it best to load it with darts (to about 1/4" of the bottom) and then place it on the warmer for 15 - 20 minutes (longer for stock darts). It's hard to gauge but my darts melted a bit at the bottom when they were done. A little less gets a tighter dart but over 25 minutes started to deform the surface of the foam.
