#165981 Blast Mav / Double Discshot

Posted by jerm78 on 02 August 2008 - 10:34 AM in Modifications

My blast mav. You have to manuely turn it and it shoots a good 60 plus ft(alot of glue on this one)

before

And the Discshot X2, simple as cutting a straight line down both guns and glueing together(lots of glue)

The maverick part is a little crooked and no its not a good choice for accuracy at long distances. I could have made the trigger rotate thing work but didnt feel like bothering with it

#166422 Blast Mav / Double Discshot

Posted by jerm78 on 04 August 2008 - 10:11 AM in Modifications

I really like the doubled-up Disc Shot. It is very clean, and looks like it would be quite comfortable to hold and easy to use. I love how many darts you can pack around in this thing without having to resort to custom ammo holders. If this were mine, I think I would attach some kind of cord or similar item between the two cocking handles to make cocking both guns at the same time a bit easier.

Thats a great idea! I never thought of string, I tried some pvc pipe but then you had to pull the triggers at exactly the same time.

#167945 Star Wars Clone Trooper Blaster Internals

Posted by jerm78 on 10 August 2008 - 08:12 PM in Modifications

This is the old color gun, the new one is white, but for anyone interested here are the internals. I did a search and did not see any pictures so here ya go.

#167994 Star Wars Clone Trooper Blaster Internals

Posted by jerm78 on 10 August 2008 - 11:10 PM in Modifications

I actually got the glue loose on one side of the gun as the front piece is still attached to the other half. I grabbed a half of the gun in each hand and pulled apart till one side let go(very carefully). The spring is small in this gun and my Home Depot spring won't fit(too fat) so I used a disk shot spring because its a little longer. So far the gun still sucks. The other Star Wars gun is alot better since it's pretty much a long NF.

#169039 Nite-mav

Posted by jerm78 on 14 August 2008 - 10:34 AM in Modifications

Actualy I used a Disk Shot gun but the internals are almost the same as a nite finder.
I used the old thread by Carrtoon on how to make it as a reference and just changed a few things

inside gutted
Posted Image

the front of the tube
Posted Image

tube in place
Posted Image

the pull is put in upside down for the catch to work
Posted Image

I put a nail threw the (original)catch to hook the groove when you pull back
Posted Image

the spring is held in place with wire threw the tube on both sides of the pull. I also cut the pull ring off and sanded it down to fit in the original cocking mechanism
Posted Image

the tube glued in place
Posted Image

cut the back of the gun and dremel out the original cocking piece to fit the nite finder arm.
Take the original cocking piece and drill a hole through the furthest back screw hole
so it goes through both sides. Put a hole in the sanded down pull. I used wire to hold it.
Posted Image

And thats it. picture of the gun cocked

this gun was pretty much a trial run to see if I could get it to work. It shoots about the same as stock with restrictors removed, its a stock disk shot spring and it doesnt fully compress. Next time I will use something stronger than hot glue, put a stronger spring and wrap the plunger. Plus I need to add some padding to keep the slide from slamming against the back of the gun. Thanks for all the suggestions.

The darts the little straw looking things with the orange tip
Posted Image

Posted Image

when you pull the trigger it pulls the air release nosel back then it slams foreward
pushing the pin in and releasing the air, a little at a time. modding won't be easy

Posted by jerm78 on 17 August 2008 - 02:19 PM in Modifications

Where would you go about buying one of these?

I got this off ebay last week. I decided to make it a single shot and eliminate the use of the clip. I will post pics when done.

I used wire and glue to keep the fireing mechanism from moving, then tied string to the release pin and trigger, glued on barrel and done. This gun shoots great. I'll post ranges later

#172709 Longshot Ar Removal Problems

Posted by jerm78 on 26 August 2008 - 08:55 PM in Modifications

I must got lucky because I did mine this weekend and I just went in with some needle nose pliers threw the plunger side and grabed the restrictor and it came right out with one good pull. There was verry little glue holding it in.

this gun officially sucks, the plunger tube is too small and the pull back stroke is too short. All these things can be fixed but I have other projects to work on so this ones getting put aside. On the bright side the spring is awsome and perfect for the Vulcan, it's a little bit bigger but alot stiffer.

I don't have a write up but it's pretty basic. The trigger slides on the piece of cpvc with e-tape, I glued it in place. I attached the triggers and then cut the shell to fit

Very nice.

Hows the new Tommy 20? (The green one.)

It's better then the old one but still not that great. I got some new motors to put in it and as you can see I cut off the part that stuck out under the barrel, tried to make it look a little better

#174816 Mav2k

Posted by jerm78 on 03 September 2008 - 09:41 PM in Modifications

This is my friends gun which I thought was cool so I figured I'd post it here. He had to remove the barrel rotation part to fit the air tank in. He single barreled it for better distance and plans to cut off the front part and use the other barrels as dart holders. It's not finished yet but here it is.

#177632 Nf2k

Posted by jerm78 on 15 September 2008 - 08:53 PM in Modifications

Here it is, I don't do write-ups but I have a few pics
I wanted both barrels the same length even though it will probably hurt the NF's range
Posted Image

the start

Posted Image

pump and air tank in place, dremel shell to fit

Posted Image

new hose(from Home Depot), hanger from pull pin to trigger

Posted Image

trim pump and handle

Posted Image

new spring for NF(from Ace)

Posted Image
plus I did the usual NF mods, e-tape under o-ring, restrictors removed and sealed plunger tube

#177643 Pre Bent Pvc Stock

Posted by jerm78 on 15 September 2008 - 09:19 PM in Modifications

I got this from Ace. Has anyone ever used it as a stock? I searched but found nothing.
Posted Image

#177782 Thunderbolt

Posted by jerm78 on 16 September 2008 - 06:36 PM in Modifications

The Thunderbolt, stock gets o.k. range like a Maverick, has lights and makes an annoying sound
Posted Image

A quick size comparison
Posted Image

Inside, the spring is not bad but the plunger tube is small and the hole where the air releases is small
Posted Image

The spring and there is a oring plus a rubber head
Posted Image

There is rubber on the tip of the plunger tube
Posted Image

You don't want to take this part apart, the metal post on the left side of the black thing with the green ring slides in and out so its impossible to push back into the orange turret(I finally found a way to get it back together)
Posted Image

I drilled out the pegs and added a spacer behind the spring to help compress it more.
Posted Image

Thats it for now I will finish modding it later and let yall know about ranges

#177795 Double Barrel Big Blast

Posted by jerm78 on 16 September 2008 - 07:16 PM in Modifications

Why do you always use marker barrels? Is that the only thing that fits your darts? Cool thing though

Markers are cheap and they fit all the different darts I use plus I get great ranges with them. I know the range will suffer with 2 barrels but I have a 2 singled BB's so I wanted something different.

#177825 Double Barrel Big Blast

Posted by jerm78 on 16 September 2008 - 09:05 PM in Modifications

Actually a stick of cpvc or pvc is cheaper than a pack of markers usually. Nice job using what you had though, I would shorten the dead space between the air tank and the barrels that will give you some range back.

Its easier to buy markers than trying to find cpvc that will fit my darts

#178187 Double Barrel Big Blast

Posted by jerm78 on 18 September 2008 - 09:18 PM in Modifications

I only loose like 2 feet compared to my singled BB and one dart always goes further than the other. The further shooting one is the one that lands a couple feet less then my singled BB
