#201405 A Couple Questions

Posted by sputnik on 06 January 2009 - 12:27 AM in Modifications

Do you have a pic of the trigger spring?

#201411 A Couple Questions

Posted by sputnik on 06 January 2009 - 12:41 AM in Modifications

Is it a torsion spring or a regular spring glued on?

#201413 A Couple Questions

Posted by sputnik on 06 January 2009 - 12:52 AM in Modifications

1. You need to glue in a strong spring.

2. You need to sand down the Epoxy putty on the trigger a little.

#201416 A Couple Questions

Posted by sputnik on 06 January 2009 - 01:12 AM in Modifications

So I need to add another big spring in addition to the rather large torsion spring? And sand the putty down how?

I assume you also reinforced the cocking bar?

When you cock the gun, the cocking bar is pushing back the reinforced trigger down, but the putty is keeping the nub from catching.
Sand down the putty on the top until it is flush with the stock nub.

And yes, add a small pen spring to the trigger.

#197147 Ps3 Advocates

PSN name LORD_SPUTNIK

To anyone with a PSP or PS3, check out EchoChrome. Its a puzzle game based on optical illusions and perspective shifting. Without a doubt the most addicting and fun game I've ever played. Its only available from the PS Store though. Also, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is probably my favorite PS3 exclusive game.

#213027 Bbbb Problem

Posted by sputnik on 17 February 2009 - 03:31 PM in Modifications

I finished my modification to my bbbb but when i put the gun back in the shell it will pump but the air wont stay in. But when the gun is out of the shell it works fine. Could some help.

The trigger is being held open by something in the shell.
Check for any obstructions, then try it.

#213030 Bbbb Problem

Posted by sputnik on 17 February 2009 - 03:36 PM in Modifications

I hot glued the trigger onto the metal pin cause i gave up on it and decided to use it without the shell. But it worked with the hot glue on it outside of the shell.

The trigger is crooked on the pin then..

When the shell is closed, it causes the pin to tilt to one side, making it leak.

Try removing the hot glue.

Just a quick question... what is wrapped around the darts in the first pick?

Look at the 7th pic. He drew on It with a Sharpie.

#205205 Recon Experiment

Posted by sputnik on 21 January 2009 - 06:43 PM in Modifications

What exactly did you mean by Adding E-Tape to increase spring power?

The only thing i can think of that you could improve is the seal on the reverse plunger with e-tape under the O-ring, but is that even possible without asking for the tube to get deformed?

http://nerfhaven.com...showtopic=10498

Except with E-tape, of course.

And no, not really an option there, there is almost no room.

#205198 Recon Experiment

Posted by sputnik on 21 January 2009 - 06:25 PM in Modifications

First Gen Recon, AR's removed, E-tape added to increase spring power, barrel hole covered.
It was getting better than average range for an indoor gun, and made for a good primary there.

What I did.

Posted Image

That is a BBB plunger inside the stock, covered with Aluminum tape.

Posted Image
A quarter glued inside to cover the hole.

Posted Image
AR-15 spring cut down, hot glued into a bottle cap to match the ARMED diameter.

Posted Image
The spring at rest.

Posted Image
I singled the Recon the same way as my LongShot.

Posted Image
A Barrel protector. (The PETG stays on the copper pipe.)

The ranges with BS stefans vary from 45'-55'.
Frankly, I had hoped for more.

Any suggestions that may help me out?

thanks.

#205281 Recon Experiment

Posted by sputnik on 21 January 2009 - 10:21 PM in Modifications

Wow, I was just planning on using that same breach method on a recon I got. I'm glad someone else did it with success. I should be doing a similar mod soon. How long is the barrel? Maybe it should be shorter.
W00t 500th post!

Barrel is 7"

Instead of using e-tape, I put 3-4 O-rings around the plunger tube. I use OD 1", ID 15/16". You have to be careful not to use an O-ring that's too thick, or else it will catch on the those vertical walls that act as guides for the plunger tube. Other than that can't think of anything else off hand, I've never single any of my Recons.

Salindin

It was only for an experiment, not permanent.
My Longshot is permanent. :D

Or after you have fully pumped it?

#205709 3k Pin Leak

Posted by sputnik on 23 January 2009 - 05:32 PM in Modifications

So far, all searching got me was Radio's thread, which didn't help.

Any advice from some vets?
I'm sure this has happened to a bunch of y'all.

Thanks.

#205722 3k Pin Leak

Posted by sputnik on 23 January 2009 - 05:54 PM in Modifications

I've been messing with it, and if I nudge the pin up, the hissing stops.
If I don't hold the pin there, it will leak again.
I'll get pics if anybody really needs it.

#190948 At2k Problem

Posted by sputnik on 20 November 2008 - 05:19 PM in Modifications

That o- ring looks very similar to the one on the pump. If you REALLY wanted one on there, you could always take one off of the pump of another.

No you can't.

The pump's o-ring is nearly 2x the size of the turret's.

#190859 At2k Problem

Posted by sputnik on 19 November 2008 - 11:12 PM in Modifications

Of the 15 at2k's I've bought at Big Lots in the past 3 months, none of them have had the O-ring.

No worries.

Accuracy, in my opinion.
Nite Finders are generally used as sidearms, not as primaries. The shots need to be accurate for close quarter encounters.
