#146592 Cpvc At3k Problem

Posted by Quilan Fett on 24 March 2008 - 12:57 PM in Modifications

How long are the barrels?

#190343 Pump Action Rifle

Posted by Quilan Fett on 17 November 2008 - 08:07 PM in Homemades

Having made several guns similar to this, I have some advice:

The back to the plunger tube is unnecessary.

Instead of working for a seal between the plunger tube and breech/barrel, connect them and have a moving plunger tube.

For the breech, I'd just do a simple one and forget about a clip. They are too hard to get working right and their jamming overshadows their speed.

#186327 My Unfinished Longshot

You broke your gun so you're trying to sell it?

Also, you can't test range by shooting at a wall 10 feet away.

#134296 Where Do I Get Springs?

Posted by Quilan Fett on 29 December 2007 - 12:34 PM in General Nerf

Search a while to find what other people have used for your guns, or post your guns here and I'll give you some suggestions. The spings usually will be found in the door aisle.

#214644 Switch Shot Question

Posted by Quilan Fett on 24 February 2009 - 10:39 AM in General Nerf

Will the switch shot fit in thinwall 1" PVC?

#136354 Cliped Bbb Isues

Also, 19/32 doesn't seal with 17/16. Use 9/16 instead.

#206385 Question About Common Breech

Posted by Quilan Fett on 25 January 2009 - 07:06 PM in Homemades

If you are still worried, just make where the transition between the half pipe and full pipe a v shape instead of a flat cut.

#146825 Arrow Storm?

Posted by Quilan Fett on 25 March 2008 - 11:53 AM in General Nerf

You could probabally sell it for $20 - $30, but I'd keep it.

#105143 Sonic Bazooka?

Posted by Quilan Fett on 12 May 2007 - 03:29 PM in General Nerf

LBB>LSB
BB>LBB

Don't you mean:
LBB>LSB
BBB>LBB?

BB=Blast Bazooka.

#147480 I Just Found Some Dirt

Posted by Quilan Fett on 28 March 2008 - 12:23 PM in Off Topic

I didn't see that one. I did see the part where they labled one of their cars "Humvee" and AM told them they had to remove it.

#147595 I Just Found Some Dirt

Posted by Quilan Fett on 28 March 2008 - 09:14 PM in Off Topic

Um, how is that relevant?

#147478 I Just Found Some Dirt

Posted by Quilan Fett on 28 March 2008 - 12:08 PM in Off Topic

I just found this link while screwing around on google. Now, it isn't about the "Total X-Treme Air" division of Lanard, but I thought some here might find it interesting.

#147021 Suggestions Welcome

For the rotation, I did CS's mav mod on my DTB and it works very well.

#146965 Suggestions Welcome

Posted by Quilan Fett on 25 March 2008 - 08:10 PM in Modifications

I tried a NFxDTB a long time ago and failed with the seal. I wish now that I hadn;t scrapped it for parts. Oh well. I remember someone on NHQ comleted one but I don't have the link.

#143782 Pants

Posted by Quilan Fett on 04 March 2008 - 12:10 AM in Homemades

It's cool, but I don't see the point. It is big, has a larger reload time, and it takes work to make. Why not a NF?

#127729 Gun Identification

The second one is a NB-1.

#212851 Snap Shotgun

Posted by Quilan Fett on 16 February 2009 - 06:35 PM in Homemades

I have always wanted to make something like this and I finally got enough patience up to do it right.

Posted Image

I think this will describe it better than 5 paragraphs and be easier to read:

1.25" PVC Body.
Plunger tube is 1" Thinwall PVC
Brass breech is connected to plunger tube
CPVC barrel is stationary
Plunger moves back to prime
Opening in brass is exposed when the plunger is back
Dart is pushed into CPVC barrel by tighter CPVC behind it when plunger tube moves forward
Clothespin trigger

Key features:
Almost perfect seal (Plunger looses a bit of air but moves faster to compensate)
Unlike previous SNAP variants, trigger is easy to pull (Leverage)
Almost no dead space. Dart loads 0-1" from the plunger head's resting position.
Plunger is lighter than PVC (From bike pump)
Dart is pushed into barrel like angel breech, so loading multiple darts is easy
Removeable stock
Comfy

And the moment you've all been waiting for...

Ranges: Good.

Yeah, I know, kind of a letdown, but everyone measures differently. Plus, after a certain point it doesn't matter anymore. You're not going to have a showdown with someone from 100 feet away. It hits hard at 70' and that's enough for me.

Notes:
I still need to cut a larger hole for dart loading, but my dremel stopped working and I haven't ordered a new one yet.
The two couplers in the front are because I cut the body too short.
Any questions? I know this is brief and lacking in details, since there are so many to list, but I'd be happy to provide any there are interest for.

#212868 Snap Shotgun

Posted by Quilan Fett on 16 February 2009 - 07:24 PM in Homemades

I love it. Very nice work on the breech system.
The thing about the leverage with the trigger is that, though it's easier to pull, you have to pull for a longer distance. Which is personal preference. I for one, and I know Vacc is like this as well, prefer a "hair trigger", even if it means a tough pull.

As for showdowns at 100 feet, +pistol.

With the breech though, you could effectively shotgun load, in the same manner that my thundersplat did? Very nice.

Thanks.

The trigger pull isn't that long, but now that you mention it, I do like a longer pull.

And yes, the breech works in the same manner as your thundersplat.

#212959 Snap Shotgun

Posted by Quilan Fett on 17 February 2009 - 12:02 AM in Homemades

Dang, its like a homemade, breeched, PAS.

Excellent work.

Funny you said that. I always loved my singled RFS but it always broke. This is it's replacement.

My next job is to make it beautiful. Gotta get some Vinyl dye.

#186910 Buzz Bee Double Shot Problems!

Posted by Quilan Fett on 01 November 2008 - 08:10 PM in Modifications

Doubleshots are cool. I would like to see a new version of them. They can get good range, it's just they are made out of very cheap plastic. They break even under stock conditions.

To answer your question, if it is broken, it is probabally not worth fixing. I was in a similar situation, so believe me. The cost of materials and/or work involved in fixing it would be greater than just buying a new one and working a few hours at minimum wage to pay for it.

#152045 3rd Spy Gear Signal Launcher Mod

16/32" brass = 1/2" brass.

#195057 Scar-n In Clear Vision

This has been brought up before.

#208368 Broken Magstrike

Posted by Quilan Fett on 31 January 2009 - 07:44 PM in Homemades

I'm pretty sure this is the right forum. You could use some of the parts for a homemade, but I'd make something like imaseoulman's Arachniphobia II.

#152212 Cutting Down A Ls

Posted by Quilan Fett on 20 April 2008 - 04:14 PM in Modifications

Don't do it. Ranges suck. Jst wait a year or so until you develop the skill. Don't worry, it'll come.

#146904 Homemade Idea

Posted by Quilan Fett on 25 March 2008 - 05:27 PM in Homemades

Just buy an airsoft shell and integrate a SNAP made of thinwall 1" PVC.

#110294 Petg Seal

Posted by Quilan Fett on 09 June 2007 - 07:44 PM in General Nerf

I know this topic is old, but 19/32 brass makes a perfect breech or coupler for 5/8 thinwall PETG.

#117337 Dtg And At3k Problems

Posted by Quilan Fett on 27 July 2007 - 12:34 PM in General Nerf

Yea, I'm thinking of that, but I don't want to go too powerful, because the DTG cocking mechs aren't that strong... The DTG spring should be able to produce 50'.

Captain slug used the same spring on his DTB as his NF. That's how he got the great ranges. The same thing happened to me.
As for the DTB spring, it is very weak. People mut it in their mavs.

#107989 Petg Seal

Posted by Quilan Fett on 28 May 2007 - 03:58 PM in General Nerf

I mean for a PETG breech.

#107987 Longshot Parts

Posted by Quilan Fett on 28 May 2007 - 03:55 PM in General Nerf

For the last couple weeks, I have been working on the Angel Breech for my longshot. Had it finished and was happy with it, until I realized that it needed one more minor adjustment. Took it apart, and while I was fixing it, the piece vital to the gun broke for the second time. Having this break, along with many other frustrations along the way has made me throw this project away in disgust.

So now I am considering using some of the parts of the gun (BBB spring, longshot spring, brass, plunger, etc) for other modifications. I'm not going to say this for definite, as I am guessing there are people that might want to buy the spare parts, but I'll think on it until I calm down a bit from this project.

The big question I want to ask is what guns can easily accept the longshot and BBB spring, and would be worth it to go and buy, mod, etc. Ive heard the crossbow is great, but hard to find and expensive. What other guns might be good?

What peice do you need. Captain Slug is selling off all the internals of one of his LongShots.

#107937 Petg Seal

Posted by Quilan Fett on 28 May 2007 - 11:16 AM in General Nerf

If 17/32 brass seals with 9/16 brass, what does PETG seal with?

#121002 Interesting Gun

Posted by Quilan Fett on 24 August 2007 - 02:39 PM in General Nerf

I was at rite-aid recently and say a twin pack of guns that had plunger handles like a nf, but 4-shot manual turrets. Has anyone tried these?

#122043 Interesting Gun

Posted by Quilan Fett on 03 September 2007 - 06:14 PM in General Nerf

Actually, it is a twin pack of this.

#124154 An Idea To Integrate To Big Bad Bow

Posted by Quilan Fett on 25 September 2007 - 07:18 PM in Modifications

People have done this with 3 AT2K's, a LBB, and a Lightning Blitz, and probably others (not on the same bow).

#122053 Interesting Gun

Posted by Quilan Fett on 03 September 2007 - 07:50 PM in General Nerf

I think they are just versions of that. They have NF plunger handles, though.

#147827 My Review Of The Airzone Crossbow

Actually, there have been more tan one mods.

Also, DON'T CUT THE STRING IN THE BARREL. It is the bungee that powers the gun.
