+/- Location was smaller than I would have liked but was good for fast-paced rounds
+/- Prototype blaster didn't work well, but does function as designed
+/- ROAD TRIP ..in a small car

- Significant down time between some rounds
Fun fact; the nearest 7 11 is nearly 400 miles from where I live.

The barrel wobbles in the coupler, this probably isn't a problem for most but it does happen.

We were there until noon, Getting (everybody who's supposed to show up/host)'s numbers/contact info could help with this sort of thing.WHAT HAPPENED TO EVERYONE?!
I got there at 1ish, and nobody was there... That's like the 8th time this has happened! From now on, I resolve to show up ON TIME
And we need to get more people to Nerf with us. TELL YOUR FRIENDS
Seriously, most males think Nerfing is pretty cool, and would not be opposed to it.
It was pretty fun for just the four of us (Stark, his friend, Velveeta and myself), we played a few rounds, I tested out that camera mount dealie (I got like four minutes of footage) and everybody got snow in their shoes.

Good idea, I'll add the parks we frequent.I have made an unlisted google map which anyone can edit. Please consider marking up the map with parks you like and your own location.

It's hardly then other side of town; it's like 10 miles from Columbia heights to Newell, that's a 20 minute car ride, not that bad.Arg, why do all the wars have to be on the opposite side of town... And on Saturday.
Saturdays have been the choice day for nerfing since forever because most folks have them off, you're an exception but if another day during break works for you (like the 20th or January 2nd) say so.
I'd like to host this on a day when we can have the maximum number of people, if that happens to be a weekday or a sunday I'm down with it.

#288741 Snap-on Camera Mount
Posted by atomatron on 22 November 2010 - 06:48 PM in Homemades
I've decided to ditch the down barrel view, I won't be able to aim with the camera there...
Yeah, a couple pieces of polycarb will do nicely to protect the lens/screen.
Brit, those are really cool. I might get a pair if I can find a job.
#288672 Snap-on Camera Mount
Posted by atomatron on 20 November 2010 - 10:18 PM in Homemades
It's a variation of the current SNAP handle.
I used
-A section of 1+1/2" PVC
-Some piece of wood
-What I believe is a 1/4-20 1+1/2" machine screw (fits in the bottom of the camera)
-2 nails (you should use screws)
Make these:
Drill holes, screw the two together, drill a bigger hole for the bigger machine screw, insert it:
Snap to your SNAP/Rainbow/Bow:
Attach camera:
And take pictures
To Do/I'd like suggestions
-Protecting the back and the front of the camera while being able to access the buttons
-Vertical mount (view down the barrel)

This war marks the two years for me. That's nearly 40 wars in total, assuming each war lasted about 6 hours: 10 full days..
Now enough about me
What went well:
+Free for all and dtc
+My bow and Rainbow preforming well throughout the day
+GETTING TWO KILLS WITH A STOCK MANTA, WEEEEEE!
What could have been better:
-manta ray getting cracked after being shot by my rainbow
-Taco bell mishearing my order
-getting really tired, which makes no sense because I did fine at Chano a few weeks ago..
-Beaver is going back to Puerto Rico, bad for nerf-dom in general
I'll post a thread at some point for a war in january... possibly.

Would putting a spring on the plunger rod between the steel bar and the back plate of the catch assembly work to make it dry fire-able?
Also; that plastic bin in the last pic is mine. I wondered where it was.

it's about 4.5" tall, the barrel on it is 20". The cross section is identical to those on PACs and it can be taken apart down to the cross assembly.
Cutting this slot was a real pain, at the back there is a catch which can work but I found it sort of a pain and I have since made it so that it doesn't work.
It has an 11" draw and puts out 16 in^3.
I reamed out a 1/2"PVC coupler and attached it to the string for easier pulling, then there's a 1/2" to 1 1/4" bushing, a 1 1/4" coupler and the plunger tube of 1 1/4" PVC.
SNAP style seal on the nylon rod that is the plunger rod

I used 1/2" ID polycarbonate for the plungertube (not advised as it costs 8 times more than PVC and there aren't any PVC fittings that really fit). I used a [k25], a magical 3/4" to 1/2" reducing coupler thing for the front and a 1/2" OD washer sandwich.
The handle is similar to PACs

It's output is 13.2 ^3 in

+I should have brought my manta

Interchangeable stock for my RFDG:
A section of 1/2" PVC is hot glued into the stock attachment thing and then I bolted the PVC bit to the shell on both sides, (I intend to use the folding stock thing with this) also the raider stock is bolted all the way out.
Xbow fix:
I tapped the stock/worn out screw ports for 6-32 and cut bolts down to fit, works well so far.
