#182435 Small Wars Can Be Fun

Posted by Shadowblade on 08 October 2008 - 04:12 PM in Nerf Wars

That's nice...but, um, what was the point of starting a thread for that?

#218477 Woodland Warfare

Posted by Shadowblade on 17 March 2009 - 04:04 PM in Nerf Wars

First thing first before a flame war starts. Please kindly read our Code of Conduct and fix your posting. The rest of the community would greatly appreciate it! :D Thanks in advance.

On topic: Where is Ellijay, GA? Georgia will be having two decent-sized wars in the next few months. Spring SENO is happening March 29 in Augusta. The SE Tune-Up War is happening April 11 in Savannah. You are always welcome to attend either/both of these wars. Drop us a post in the proper thread if you are interested.

If you intend on hosting a war soon, please get a planning thread up ASAP. We're lazy southerners, so the sooner we get notice of a war, the better our odds of attending. Details are always good.

#201442 Any Y'all Out There?

I think SirTofu is from the Atlanta area.

#226793 Mississippi War

Posted by Shadowblade on 28 April 2009 - 07:35 AM in Nerf Wars

I am trying to assemble a war for the few, the proud, the southern nerfers. I would like at least 20 people to be confirmed to be coming.

PLEASE POST,NO PMs'

If you get a warplanning thread going, us southern nerfers will have a better chance of attending. We like to have a few dates and times to work with. Is this your first time hosting a NIC war?

#167880 The Next Southern War

Posted by Shadowblade on 10 August 2008 - 05:07 PM in Nerf Wars

Zaxbys and I just finished hosting the SouthEast Nerf Outing (SENO) in Augusta in July, and I know Zax does a war up in Clinton, SC (PCNO I think). There are quite a few of us in the Augusta area that nerf. We may host a fall SENO later this year. Be on the look out for a planning thread...

Where the mess is Leecounty?

EDIT: Oh, next to Albany. Sorry, I didn't see your earlier post.

#168161 The Next Southern War

Posted by Shadowblade on 11 August 2008 - 04:15 PM in Nerf Wars

Okay, if you're interested, my clan is preparing to host a Fall SENO. Exact date is uncertain, but we're gunning for around Labor Day. I'll have to talk to Zaxbys and his group first to see if they're interested. SENO has no age limit, but please be mature enough to take a hit, because, at the last SENO, there were some pretty hi-power guns out on the field (mine included). I still have a 2-week old welt from Zax's BigBlast. We didn't do any trading, but if a deal comes up, we may do so.

I'm going to let the age thing slide for now....that was weird...

#168227 The Next Southern War

Posted by Shadowblade on 11 August 2008 - 08:24 PM in Nerf Wars

I've heard from Zax, and we think we should wait til October/November (it is a little early to hold another SENO, when the last one was about 2-3 weeks ago...). Hang tight until we come up with an exact date.

#203936 I Need Help With My Laptop

Oh, okay. I'll wait for the pics.

What model Dell are you using and what OS?

#203958 I Need Help With My Laptop

Posted by Shadowblade on 16 January 2009 - 09:53 PM in Off Topic

I'm assuming that the defaults don't help any...hm, did you try all of the tabs? maybe pointer options?

#203928 I Need Help With My Laptop

Posted by Shadowblade on 16 January 2009 - 08:41 PM in Off Topic

Go to your control panel and go to "Mouse". Under the "Buttons" tab in the mouse properties window, there is a little checkbox labeled Turn Click Lock On. Make sure that is disabled.

Hope that helps :o

#203938 I Need Help With My Laptop

Posted by Shadowblade on 16 January 2009 - 08:55 PM in Off Topic

That's strange. I'd assume the mouse properties were the same...I'll take a look at the pics when you have them.

#207408 Pc Virus Problem

Posted by Shadowblade on 28 January 2009 - 08:58 PM in Off Topic

I've had AVG 8.0 Free Edition for a while and updated it consistently, but apparently that program sucks. I ran SpyBot S&D and managed to find a good amount of malware. However, my desktop is still screwy. At this point, I'm fairly sure it is an infection, but I'm not ruling out a HD malfunction.

I am unable to get Windows Explorer to open (actually, it opens for a second then closes). I'll run some commands from the prompt next if MalwareBytes doesn't help.

UPDATE: I think I figured out and fixed the problem. Thanks everyone who helped me out!

#207209 Pc Virus Problem

Posted by Shadowblade on 28 January 2009 - 12:57 PM in Off Topic

Last night, as I was working diligently on my essays for class, my desktop PC froze. Whoopdeedoo, so I restarted it and it got all the way to loading the wallpaper and stopped...I shut down and tried again a few minutes later but it would not get any further than loading the wallpaper. However, the task manager does pop up when I hit CTRL ALT DEL. There are no tasks shown and the processes look normal. What the mess is going on???

I have narrowed it down to two possibilities:
- my hard drive crashed (which I doubt...)
- a virus (probably a trojan) attacked

Does anyone have any experience dealing with such a problem? I plan on running it on safe mode when I get home to check it out and running an anti-malware (suggestions?).

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

#166716 Question About Stefans

Posted by Shadowblade on 05 August 2008 - 08:19 AM in Nerf Wars

Yeah, the pre-loaded barrels are a good idea. I used this exact tactic for SENO, by shotgun loading my barrels with three really short stefans. This is good idea if your gun has enough power to propel all the darts. I use this in my converted hi-power watergun, but recently found out my cpvc'd-doubled spring NF is also able to do this (at a lost of 5-10 ft, but hey, it's a shotgun now). It's pretty devastating.

#207728 Quick Question

Posted by Shadowblade on 29 January 2009 - 08:14 PM in General Nerf

Despite its other shortcomings, the Maverick has a pretty good RoF. It all depends on the user and how fast he/she is able to prime the blaster.

the ROF will not change (in my opinion) but the reload time will be faster.

I agree with k9.

#166947 ?

Posted by Shadowblade on 06 August 2008 - 08:30 PM in General Nerf

Oh, sorry. The Haven has an "Awareness" section? I didn't see one/know of one. What do you plan on posting?

They have this: Nerf Product Awareness System in the General Nerf section...you're probably talking about something I've never heard of before...

#166943 ?

Posted by Shadowblade on 06 August 2008 - 08:25 PM in General Nerf

I'm not quite sure what you're asking...you mean, how do you get people to notice your post? All of the new posts show up on the home page, most people (if they look) will see it. Hope that answered your question.

Edit: oh, and next time, make your title a little more specific/detailed. I was about to flame you for the title.

#168902 Men Of Foam

Posted by Shadowblade on 13 August 2008 - 08:46 PM in Nerf Wars

This is probably the most beautiful personal interpretation of SENO (it sure sounds like it) I've ever heard. It's been an honor serving with you A side and an honor hosting SENO. Until next time we meet. :)

#168232 Recon Question

Posted by Shadowblade on 11 August 2008 - 08:36 PM in General Nerf

Good grammar and spelling! Yay, we actually have a few decent new peeps! Welcome to the Haven!
The black piece doesn't affect the range of the recon. Well, at least in my clan's recons. That black piece is just a cover for the plunger arm. The newer recons all have this piece.

Woot. 100 posts.

#169183 Any Western Nerf Wars

Posted by Shadowblade on 14 August 2008 - 04:43 PM in Nerf Wars

You know, I was like you for a bit. No one nerfed much in the SE, let alone GA. So I was like: To heck with it, I'll host one myself. So it started off as a small group of friends, and then I found Zaxbys on the Haven, so we played a few local wars. Eventually, we decided to host a large regional war, SENO, which turned out successful. We may even host an encore SENO.

Moral is, don't complain. Get out there, find some friends to play with. Play in the backyard, the house, the park. It doesn't have to be huge, but you gotta get out and start one yourself. Eventually, it may turn into an annual regional war, or even gain legendary status like Apoc.

The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.

#220575 Spring Seno Recap

Posted by Shadowblade on 29 March 2009 - 08:41 PM in Nerf Wars

I'd like to thank everyone who made it out to Spring SENO. It was a great kickoff to the nerfing season. I hope to see all of you again for Summer SENO and SOFA!

War recap:
Pros
-Being able to nerf after three idle months of winter
-Good performances from all of my guns
-Effeminate last stand with my Longshot during the modified HvZ round
-Beautiful weather
-Almost successfully sneaking the flag during CTF
-Nerfing

Cons
-Crappy stefans. Gotta convert to CS stefans soon.
-Going to bed know I'm gonna be sore tomorrow morning (but it was definitely worth it).

I hope everyone had fun. SouthEast nerfing is going to be ballah this year. Hears to another year of nerf! Nerf on.

#209292 Nerf War

Posted by Shadowblade on 03 February 2009 - 06:40 PM in Nerf Wars

I couldn't help but notice: one hit kills?!

Those are really quick and/or boring rounds (especially, if people insist on camping...). I'd do 3/15 because it is usually the standard rule for most NIC-hosted wars. Just my opinion, it's your war, your call.

#143059 Problems With Converted Taggers In Ls

Posted by Shadowblade on 28 February 2008 - 06:59 PM in Modifications

Well I've done the basic mods on my LS (AR, stuff like that) and I haven't done the superclip mod, so it probably is my dart. I'll play around with the darts a little bit and see if I can get them to work...and I'll stop storing my darts in the clips (I usually leave them in there just in case I get ambushed). Thanks a lot for the advice!

#142944 Problems With Converted Taggers In Ls

Posted by Shadowblade on 27 February 2008 - 10:10 PM in Modifications

Hey everyone, I'm new and this is my first post (my thanks goes to admins for validating me) and I'm not sure if this should go in the Mods section because I'm using modded darts but please move if needed.

I am currently using Converted Tagger Darts in my LS (because they're cheaper than Streamlines) but once in every two or three clips or so the dart will jam up in the LS. I opened it up once to unjam the thing and found the dart doubled over and jammed into the barrel. Is anyone else having these problems or is it just my dart/clip/LS?

#159370 Rainbow Six Vegas 2

Posted by Shadowblade on 16 June 2008 - 03:49 PM in Off Topic

UMP45 w/ a rifle scope or G36 w/ ACOG for general purposes. G3 or SCAR with 6x scope for longer ranges. MG36 with super stock for machine gun. Mk23 w/ extended clip as a side arm.

#153151 Doubleshot Trouble -pics Included

Posted by Shadowblade on 25 April 2008 - 07:35 PM in Modifications

HOLY COW...wat did you do to that barrel??? Haha. I agree with Salmon. You might want to check where you're cutting, otherwise you may have to cut through the screw (which won't be that much fun, but looks like you don't have much of a choice.) Or maybe you just need to keep going at it, perhaps with a hacksaw.

As for the internals, a lot of ppl seem to have problems with this gun. I have two DS myself. Just make sure you put EVERYTHING back where it came from. Make sure the springs are all there.

As a side note...I wouldn't bother even trying to fix the gun now...not in that condition, but you can try.

#159367 Augusta War Recap

Posted by Shadowblade on 16 June 2008 - 03:36 PM in Nerf Wars

Haha, I'm glad everyone had a good time. And Zaxbys and his clan destroyed my clan (most of them are newbies to nerf). I'll check with my clan and see if anyone is open for late July. Check this post for updates on the July war.

to SirTofu: I'm so sorry about the lack of communication. My group is so freaking slow to respond back to me, so it takes a while to get the info out to everyone else (I'm their only connection to the Haven until they can get their accounts verified). But I'll see to it that the details (directions included) get out sooner. Sorry about that.

#159363 Augusta War 2

Posted by Shadowblade on 16 June 2008 - 03:21 PM in Nerf Wars

Due to some people wanting another war (me included) here in Augusta, GA, my clan will try to plan another war in late July. I'm glad that there are some people in this area that want to nerf that badly haha.

The 19th and the 26th of July have been mentioned as possible dates for this war. Anyone who is interest please say so and post any dates that are good for you. This is help make planning a lot smoother for us.

#165045 Nerf Grenade Idea

Posted by Shadowblade on 28 July 2008 - 09:18 PM in General Nerf

Yet another grenade idea...I'm sorry dude, mrcrouse1 is right, if there aren't any nerf products in it, it's not really a "nerf" grenade. So far, the Haven hasn't seen a working AND practical nerf grenade design (with the exception of the bunkerbuster design, which isn't used much anyways).

If you search for "nerf grenade", you'll see some tried-failed designs and several prototypes. Perhaps you could help improve on these actual nerf grenades. Enjoy your stay at the Haven!

#202043 Battle Of The Rednecks

Posted by Shadowblade on 09 January 2009 - 08:23 AM in Nerf Wars

I'm a maybe as well as the rest of my clan. The more details you have, the better our chances. Good to hear that some other SE wars are popping up.

#173670 Nitefinder Custom

Posted by Shadowblade on 30 August 2008 - 12:30 PM in Modifications

Kinda looks like a WWII Lugar.

In fact, some of us call this a luger'd NF. Just throwing that out there...I think the barrel's a little long for a NF, if I recall correctly, a 3-4" barrel is perfect for a NF, any longer may decrease range (due to friction). But who knows, it's your NF. I'll wait for the write-up before giving you any constructive critism...

#178475 Most Popular Games At Nerf Wars

Posted by Shadowblade on 20 September 2008 - 07:17 PM in General Nerf

All of the ones mentioned plus (well at SENO anyways) HvZ, VIP Escort, and Gunslinger.

#234443 What Gun Do You Hate The Most?

Posted by Shadowblade on 05 June 2009 - 12:28 PM in General Nerf

You.

/thread

AWWWWWW I hate you too. ;)

That wasn't funny at all. Renegade was hinting that this thread really shouldn't have been created in the first place. The Haven does not like "What Gun Do You Like/Hate The Most" threads at all. For future reference to all newer members, please do not start threads like this one, as they are neither entertaining nor beneficial to the NIC.

End thread.

#226702 East Coast Nerf Wars

Posted by Shadowblade on 27 April 2009 - 08:22 PM in Nerf Wars

No. Just flat out no. This is not acceptable.

Seeing as you're new to the Haven, I'll give you a few pointers to avoid run-ins with the admins.
- Please kindly read the Haven's Code of Conduct. It is the bible of this forum. Members are expected to uphold these simple rules.
- If you read the Code of Conduct, you'll find that we also absolutely LOVE good grammar, spelling, and coherent sentences.
- Polls such as these are extremely erotic greatly. You are on NERFhaven asking the members whether or not they liked NERF wars. If they didn't, then why the frick are they members here?

Back to your post:

but no one is ever on the east coast

WTF??? Last time I checked we had plenty of east coast nerfers. In fact, if you check the 2009 Nerf War Schedule, you'll see 15+ wars planned for the east coast alone.

If you want to host a war, post your location. The east coast is a big place. We have nerfers scattered from Maine down into Florida. If you can get 50+ dedicated nerfers to come to a war, I will get on my knees and worship you. But you're not going to get a NIC war going with a poll like that. I suggest you get a feel of the site first and attend some other wars to gain experience first before you start hosting a war of your own. Good luck. Welcome to the Haven.

#226712 East Coast Nerf Wars

Posted by Shadowblade on 27 April 2009 - 08:50 PM in Nerf Wars

Wow, I wish I were a kick-ass admin like you, Shadowblade, or maybe being a fucking awesome war organizer like NYREDWOLF!

Oh, wait. Nevermind.

Not sure if you were being sarcastic or not, but I apologize for the serious backseat moderation nonetheless. I am not an admin, but I'm sure I speak for a vast majority of eastcoasters. Please let this thread die. The admins will take care of it.

#203924 Fbr By The 100'

Posted by Shadowblade on 16 January 2009 - 08:37 PM in General Nerf

Plus, dosen't foam always look....
FOAMY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? :o

I think Kid was referring to the foam's density. Not all foam is created equal and some are more dense (good thing) than others.

If you get enough people who want this foam, you could just order for a group and make it worthwhile.
