Vulcan won't manually cock after modding

29 August 2011 - 11:44 AM

I started a Vulcan mod months ago, replacing the batteries with a 12v lead-acid battery and adding a couple of extra circuits for lights and a snazzy old voltmeter. The stuff has been sitting around in pieces on my project table for months, and now that I'm moving, I decided to get it together so I don't lose anything.

I finished the electronics mods and put everything back together to find that I can't manually fire the gun -- when I try to cock it it doesn't lock in, so pulling the trigger does nothing. I assume that using the power firing would have the same problem, but I haven't tested it due to needing to charge the battery. Since it's been months since I disassembled the gun, I don't remember what all the parts are for, and I have a few bits and springs still lying around that I didn't know where to put. Here's a photo of said parts:

Anyone know if these parts are the problem, or if not, what is? I won't be terribly upset if I can't get the thing to work again -- the mod is a little fragile and it wouldn't be the end of the world if it ended up as a display piece -- but I would still like to have the option.

Air Restrictor Question

24 June 2007 - 11:30 PM

I'm interested in modding my guns for higher ranges, so I've been looking at air restrictor mods. But all the, say, Maverick mods I've seen say to take out the long peg that goes into the hole in the dart to hold it in place to enable the gun to fire stefans. If I don't want to use stafans, should I still take out that rod? If I take out the spring and that other piece that just fall right out, and leave the rod in, will that increase the range? Or do I have to take the pole out?

Thanks!
