Is the coupler necessary? I got a good seal just sticking it up against the air chamber with the drilled out bit that the air restrictor spring nests up against and then hot gluing it.

Thanks for the replies guys.

The air chamber is actually airtight. I've been messing around with it and found that silicone lube worked really well. It got about 40 feet without rubberbands and 50 with them. But the next day it was back to being lame again. Am I using the right kind of lubricant?

Ok, I tried putting electrical tape on the plunger underneath the o-ring, and then used the 1/2'' cpvc as a barrel, hot glueing it airtight and then taping it up for extra support. I can get the darts into the cpvc with the help of the vacuum from the plunger now, but I'm only getting 10-15 feet for some reason. I stuck some rubber bands on the plunger handle, and I can get 35-40.

I'm sorry, what's impossible?

My darts are fine, and I've got spares just in case I mess any up too badly.
