Big Salvo Bull Shit

26 May 2008 - 10:20 PM

I'm still having trouble with my Big Salvo. Everything seems to be working fine, but it's really...underpowered. I'll pump it 30 times and it'll go 20 ft. max. I really want to know how people can get 90+ ft. squeezed out of this interesting gun, especially with 10 pumps. I've noticed two different color schemes for the BS...is there some difference internal-wise between the two? Anyone have a solution for why this thing is sucking so much? I'd really love to make this thing my primary, but it's a pain in the ass.

Big Salvo Trouble

06 November 2007 - 07:56 PM

I ordered a Big Salvo from Amazon, and I had high hopes for it. I got all the Materials together, and then proceeded to replace the barrels.

As soon as I sawed off the stock barrels, I began to pump it, to see if it would still hold the air in the tank.

It didn't.

As I pumped, I noticed air escaping from the two tanks in the middle. I have no idea why the air is escaping, and I did not cut into the tanks. I'm hoping that someone who is experienced with Big Salvos, especially Cmdrmack and Carbon, is able to help me with this.

Big Bad Bow Spring Question

08 August 2006 - 09:48 PM

Alright, I've got the length and width of the BBB spring (length:4 7/8 , Width: 7/8), But does anyone know the gauge of steel of the spring? If someone could answer this, I know I would be appreciative, and so would anyone wanting to do Carrtoon's Longshot mod, So that they could just go to a hardware store and pick one up. It may be a good idea, though, to get one of a slightly lower gauge steel. Though if we could reinforce the Longshot, We would not have to worry about pieces inside of it breaking.

Nite Finder Spring Replacement

06 August 2006 - 11:37 AM

I was rummaging through my room, to see if I could find a new spring to fit it in my Nite Finder. While looking for a stronger spring, I found an old Tek 6 spring, which gave me an idea.

So I took apart my Nite Finder, took the spring off the plunger, stretched the
Tek 6 spring a bit in the middle, and slid it inside the NF spring. Just as I thought. It was a perfect fit.

So the next morning ( It was 1:00 AM when I found the spring.) I took it outside to do some range testing
The shots were taken with 1 in. Stefans weighted with one bb, shot out of a crayola barel from about 5.5 feet up(all air restrictors were also removed) :

1st Shot: 50 ft.
2nd Shot: 68.5 ft. (there was a large skip here, more like 60. )
3rd Shot: 56.5 ft.
4th Shot: 56 ft.
5th Shot: 56.1 ft.

Average: 57.4
I was getting some wind from the east

This was pretty simple and effective as far as I can tell, but you would probably get better results with a DT3 spring.

If you have trouble reassembleing the Nite Finder, Press both hands down the shell before screwing it back down. If every area except the area near the plunger snaps into place, It is because the new spring is overlapping the piece that keeps the spring closer to the plunger tube. What I did was take a flathead screwdriver, and shift the spring closer to the plunger tube, so that you can put the other half back on.

Enjoy!

Need Help With Scar-n

03 July 2006 - 02:29 PM

Me and my dad are working on builing the SCAR-N, and since there are no real instuctions on how to build it step by step, I want to hear how others have built it, and any tips on building this gun would be appreciated.
