Quick And Dirty Mod.

28 March 2009 - 12:27 AM

Just a little something I threw together in a fit of boredom. Turned out pretty good.
So, without further preamble, my first mod on these forums. Hope you enjoy!

What you need:

Non-blowback CO2 BB or airsoft pistol. (I used a Tippman T-400)
E-Tape.
Duct tape
Hot glue or adhesive of choice. (I didn't use any because mine os a temporary rig)
Enough 1/2" schedule 40 PVC to hold a dart.
Posted Image

Step One:
Wrap a couple of layers of e-tape around the muzzle so the PVC fits.
Posted Image

Step Two:
Slide the PVC into place. This is when you'd use the adhesive to make it permenant.
Posted Image

Step Three:
For a temp job, add a little duct tape to stabalize the PVC.
Posted Image

Steps Four and five:
Cover w/ e-tape for cosmetics and add a bright tip for safety.

Total time: 10 min.
Avg. Range: 70' w/ no cocking or pumping. Origional pistol fired @ 350fps

Mav Drop Clip Problem

05 March 2009 - 10:21 PM

Unfortunatly, my digicam is kaput, so please bear with me.

Yesterday, I did my first drop clip. I tried it out on an old mav that crapped out a while back. Everything went fine. :D

Today, I did the exact same mod on my lab rat Mav. For some reason, the cylinders won't engage the hex head.

I popped them into the husk from yesterday and they both work fine. I would put them in the old one, but it's just a shell with the hex head and cylinder release. <_<

Anyone have any ideas about what's wrong? Thanks!

Maverick Barrel Replacment?

27 February 2009 - 03:22 PM

I'm preparing for my first major mod, but I have a question to pose to those with more experience than me.

I'm planning a Nite-Mav mod w/ a bit of reinforcment to accomidate a heavier spring. Aside from the other basics (AR removal, Revolver Mod etc.) I was considering a barrel replacment.

The questions.
1) I'm doing this for a LARP that uses stock micros (sonics), so would it even make sense to replace the barrels?

2) If yes, what would be the best material?

Thanks
