You might also consider small capacitors as an alternative to normal batteries. They'd be lighter and you'd have to charge them up before use. And I have no idea if you would be able to find any that could be used for this purpose, but I know that's what is used in the dragonfly ornithopter walmart was selling a few years ago so that it would be light enough to fly.

We're not interested in theories. And "range" is how far from the BARREL of the gun (aimed at the horizon) the dart travels before hitting the ground. Anything else is an exercise in creative semantics (or lying).

You have a mouse in your pocket? Who is this "We" that you speak of? I'm aware actual range is determined from the distance from the barrel, I addressed this in the last sentence of my first paragraph. For your viewing pleasure:

To put it bluntly... You don't.

@Lynx
We've agreed that shooting the car will not count since we do not count hits on weapons either. Outdoors really won't be a problem since I only play at work, cubicle warfare.

@Bomberman
Ever tried sneaking up on someone with a mech 20? :D

@Everyone else that might care
The local walmart did not have one. I'll have to hit up the Toys R Us tommorow. And the effective range of a mech 20 when I throw it is about 50-60 feet. If I add some mods to my arm, I can probably squeeze another 10 feet into it. :P

I figured it out. I took something off the second valve that I should not have which was causing it to open too slowly. Thanks though

I had about the same performance from my NF as I did my LNL. I had better performance from my Tech Target though, but I preferred my NF because it was smaller and I liked the grip better.

*edit* I mean the old school tech target that shoots megas stock, modded down to shoot micros. I haven't tried one of the new tech targets.

I haven't seen the inside of the gyrostrike, but it was my assumption that that was how it worked.

My target range for this weapon is about 35 feet. The motor I plan on using actually comes from a small trolling motor (the little electric motors that you put on a bassboat so you don't scare the fish and can creep up on them), or one that I can snag from a power-wheels jeep. Either should be addeaute, weight will probably be the determining factor here.

I might pick up one of those buzzbees for parts if all else fails, I'm not interested in a topfeed design though, I've got a drum clip design that I've been wanting to build a gun suited for its use so I'd have a reason to build it.
