I put a hard-range kit in an EAT and decided to leave the air restrictor in because that was the advice going around. For reasons I have never quite pinned down, when I went outside and tested (I actually have video of this) it blew part of its own A/R out and permanently closed it. I had to dremel it to even make it work again. Still baffles me, though -- hard range is tough but it's no [[k26]] or anything. Never heard of someone blowing their A/R out the barrel of the blaster.

Oh wow, I bought the Blaster parts kit on containment crew not 2 months ago and it's gone now. That's unfortunate. It came with the bar and a hollow plastic plug that stopped the new spring from distorting the plunger rod. That thing leaves welts.
You can still get it here: http://blasterparts....-hr?___store=en
I think it's worth purchasing. Even if you destroy an EAT playing the hell out of it, all three parts will fit a new EAT shell fine. They may be discontinued but you can still find them many places.

I mean, I know we all have different means, but the retaliator is a simple light upgrade. Buy what you like and obtain a better spring.

I can do that. Maybe on Etsy or something? If there's any interest. I can also make a more detailed guide on how this is done. I sincerely thought this was pretty common knowledge, I was just offering up the pattern to save some redundant work for others.
However, if this is not as common as I presumed, I can offer both kits, and detailed picture walkthrough. Is there interest? Let me know.
