Breech That Takes N-strike Clips

02 July 2008 - 01:02 PM

I was using my BBB in an indoor skirmish at a friend's house and learned that unless I had a side arm, using a BBB is dangerous for me (poor ROF). I wanted to stick a clip on it, but the clips I found on the site seemed like a lot of work, so I made a breech that accepts Nerf N-Strike clips. It's bolt action, and has a few hiccups, but otherwise cycles taggers well. Unfortunately, I haven't attached this to any guns yet, so I don't know how practical it is. The bolt pull slot looks botched because the CPVC slipped while being machined.
Anyway, Here's a side view with clip:

Bolt open all the way (if you squint you can see a tagger in the clip):

Bolt half way open (optimist):

Bolt closed:

Here's the rear of the chamber interior with bolt open:

Here's the front of the chamber interior with the same dart I loaded in the above pictures:

And last, the bolt closed bottom view:

Hopefully, this breech will work nicely with my green BBB (pg96 of the show off your mods thread). If the pictures are huge, sorry. I resized them to 400 by 300 on Photobucket, but apparently the editing system of Photobucket is a late April fool's joke.

Brass Reducing Couplings

Well, I passed some of these in the Ace Hardware near me

and I was wondering, before I buy a few, if the two fittings on the very right could be substituted for stacking brass barrels? It would be way less expensive, less brass to buy.

Opening The Fore Of A Double Shot

26 May 2008 - 01:20 AM

Well, I bought the Double Shot because of the cool factor (OMG THE SHELLS EJECT SO COOL). The shoulder stock half of the DS is apart, but I can't pry the barrels off the fore grip. This question has been asked before, but the posts became less irrelevant to this problem as the thread grew. I know the pieces are welded, but if there is a trick I'd like to know (I've even tried using acetone on a cue tip to melt the pieces apart). And please, no "YOU DUMBASS WHY'D YOU BUY A DOUBLE SHOT YOURE DUMB" posts; I did my research and knew full well what I was buying. Thanks in advance.
