The point of the dart pegs is to not allow foreign objects into the barrel, such as batteries, etc.

Thanks for clarifying, I always thought it is to hold the darts in place.

 
And yet, Airsoft exists. I've played it, and have never bled from a hit.
 
The trick here is to use plastic BB's commonly used in Airsoft, and not metal hunting BB's. Not sure if they make them in that caliber anyway, so it might be a difficult mistake to make.
 

There are many types of BB guns, Air powered , Electric powered and the common spring loaded ones. A high powered air / electric BB gun with high joules can pierce through your skin from 20 meters away. I've seen serious Airsoft injuries before but not in an airsoft battle, as there are restrictions for your guns so they can't be too powerful. Lord Draconical actually made a video a long time ago about using BBs in any nerf gun with a 1/2" CPVC coupler.

EDIT : Okay I just watched the video. Honestly I think he did a pretty bad job at this LOL. The BB pellet was never meant to be placed right in front of a gun's barrel, it never should. It is mainly because he used the wrong type of gun for this mod. Given the amount of modding he did with the extended pipe and sealing, I am 100% sure it isn't air leak proof. I'm not saying the Strongarm is air-leak proof, but the Strongarm has better mechanism for that. With this mod, the plunger is sitting right at the back of the barrel where the BB is placed. Yes it makes a terrible airsoft gun but it will be better than a nerf gun shooting an inaccurate dart. Well unless you plan on shooting friends then I guess this mod isn't for you. But I'm very sure it makes good for target practicing.

Overall if your just doing this mod just to target practice, use a cycloneshock because other than not having slamfire it has a larger plunger and slightly longer barrels. If your planning to use this in a war because of the possible advantages please do not, bb's will cause intense pain and even bleeding.

Cycloneshock won't work because the cylinder barrel doesn't drop out. It works better to be able to rear load the BBs otherwise, I would need to use stick to push the BB deeper into the barrel. Also the Cycloneshock is a mega ? I haven't seen a normal one yet (could have never existed anyway). Mega cycloneshock have much larger darts which means the BB would be too small to even fire. Lastly, I don't play Nerf War, wasn't the kind of my thing I guess lol. I'm very new to Nerf guns but I don't plan on shooting anyone with it other than myself. It will be mostly used in long distance target practice or maybe killing some critters.
