Nerf Longshot brassbreech

25 May 2017 - 03:25 AM

Hey guys,

I have done a few modifications, from simple spring upgrades to a Nitefinder rifle. Since this is my first big modification, I am wanting to do it properly.

So as you've probably seen from the title, I need some help with a brass breech. I've seen enough tutorials, guidelines, etc, to understand how it works, there's however 1 part I need help with.

I want to build the brass breech for full length darts, I know stefans/slugs are  superior, but in the Netherlands the buy in is really expensive because shipping fees and import costs can be a real problem sometimes. As far as I've seen, there are 2 main ways doing it. The first one involves having a longer piece of 17/32" brass, here the 17/32" brass sticks out to the back and makes sure darts don't get pushed out. The first method has thus a shorter piece of 9/16" brass sticking out from the "receiver" (I don't know how it's called in the nerf jargon).

The second method involves having a longer piece of 9/16" where the darts rest under, and a shorter piece of 17/32" where the darts go into.

My question is, which one of the two methods works the best and gives the best results? For the spring I am going to use a 9kg spring made by worker, which was included in a longshot kit.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Skirt seal

25 January 2016 - 11:16 AM

I've got some questions about skirt seals because I couldn't really find anything.

Okay so here are my questions:

1. Skirt seals are made from rubber right? if so then it wouldn't harm to dry fire or does it?

2. if it harms to dryfire with a skirt seal, why?

3. is it only available on mcmaster or can you buy it at shops?

Thanks in advance,

Tycho

CPVC and other barrel materials in the Netherlands

09 January 2016 - 04:25 AM

In The Netherlands we don't have a home depot or any of the other stores from the USA,most of the time it ain't a problem because 3/4 of the stuff we need we can get from the Gamma (Sort of an home depot) but they don't have any CPVC or petg etc. so I was wondering, does anyone know of other stores where you could get them? I had to ship some CPVC for my nitefinder rifle but it is way to expensive to ship it every time.

Thanks in advance,

Hopper/RSCB

21 December 2015 - 05:45 AM

Hello,

I have an nitefinder rifle and I was wondering if FVJ's can run a hopper/RSCB, I heard stock darts can't run a hopper but I don't know about the FVJ's.

I also couldn't find how to make an RSCB,does anyone know a write-up?

Thanks in advance.

Best darts

12 December 2015 - 06:45 AM

I was wondering, what are the best darts in price/quality? I couldn't find a list online so I was wondering what were the best and what are the worst.

I was also wondering why people ban FVJ,our nerf group in Culemborg in Holland (Just me and my friends) uses it because they are very very cheap and they shoot straight, slugs and stefan have a hot glue tip to cover metal but they sting as much as FVJ's.

Could anyone make a list of wich are best for springers and for flywheels?

Thanks
