can clear pvc be used for the pump section instead of the petg tube?

No, only because the next closest size of clear pvc is too big to work with the 1.25" clear pvc.

Sheaths do add weight. My rainbowpumps all have sheaths so I can continuously stay "on target." You could drill holes in them if you want to take off maybe 15% of the mass of the tube.

On another note I made sure I did not peek at your rainbowpump design until after I submitted my rainbowpump design to the homemade contest. That being said, sweet writeup.

Dang, good job on that write up... :D

To be honest with you. I think you would be better off if you took some time to build a few and revise and perfect your design before you try to start selling them off to people. The reason roboman has been able to get so much attention is because he has the reputation of making some amazing things. Just because you have the tools doesn't mean you can pull off crazy designs. I would start by proving that you can make some quality things with those big expensive machines that you have access to. Just some friendly advise before you get stuck with 20 people bugging you about commissions and out 125$.

EDIT Also, 9000 people aren't a fan of your design and 9001 people think polls are dumb. :P

This is by far the best write up I have seen, ever. Props to that. Extremely thorough and thought out. What really blew me away was all the quotes you made of the original people. If I were an english teacher I would give you extra credit. Construction a little on the shoddy side (I have had 2 mav handles break off using your method) but gets the point across well none the less. You better be submitting this to the homemades contest. Good thing this isn't in the plusbow category  . Also I agree with above post change that subtitle! Nobody is offended.
