As the pistol - sick.

As the SMG(sort of) - not so sick. It doesn't look like it's small enough to really use with one hand, and probably won't get enough range to use as a primary. Also - where are you suppose to grip it? The "laser"? That's pretty dum since the cocker is on top...It seems like they've reinvented the wheel for flash and forgot about practicality.

Jesus - I completely missed the second page. 50 replies in 14 hours? Gotta be some sort of NH record.

Should be interesting as a secondary. I don't anticipate being able to use it effectively as a primary though.
Only thing to do is wait and see.

Most interesting feature to me: ACTUAL iron sights on a stock gun for once.

Always cool to see a new form factor, but I'll reserve any kind of judgement until one is disassembled. The change in cocking method (rounded silver thing on top) makes me think of Buzzbee, unfortunately.

The original Longshot thread broke 60 posts in three hours. That was a little out of hand.

Agreed.

It just looks beautiful. It may have substandard performance, but that seems to be the trend for nerf is to make guns that look a lot cooler than they work. We'll see, if nothing else, this will intimidate the shit out of people who haven't seen it.

What I'm really looking forward to: A Direct Threat paintjob of this gun.

Alice came to the fork in the road.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

Aesthetically speaking the gun seems very awesome.

Practically speaking, not so much. I can't help but notice that there's really no room for a large plunger. Just like everyone else has said, we're going to have to wait and see about this one.

Wait, so why is everyone saying it'll have ranges like a Maverick? Isn't the blue arm that comes out when cocked back the plunger rod? This would mean it'd act the same way as a NF, LS, etc.

It looks like it will have good potential.

Think the thickness of the LS plunger tube, with a length between the BBB and NF plunger tubes.

I think it's gunna be weird not having a jam door like the LS.

OMC- when you said you've held it, did you also fire it?

Fuck nuggets. Didn't think about that. No more assault-rifle-like-goodness? Ah well... Did anyone else notice that the cocking arm looks to extend a good 6in at least, not to mention a huge main body(possibly large plunger tube), can anyone say "totally awesome primary"? Seems like I'm the only one to think that.

EDIT: Fuck. I call 5 inches on the plunger stroke.

EDIT AGAIN: Hey OMC? does the plunger catch in that little yellow box on the stock? If its internal tha'd be awesome.

For the record, my drawing of the blue arm is NOT to scale. I forget how far it came out. The one I saw said "ARMED" on it to tell you the gun was, well... armed.

I held it yes, but did not fire it. I'm not sure where it catches. I saw no internals. Come to think of it, I never do. I knew about the LongShot before it came out, but I didn't see the inside of one until I owned one myself.

Although I see a downside to this but shouldn't be much a as it was for the LS.

The darts.

Even though you can use stephans with some mod for the clip, the stock crasy "oh-so-accurate" darts is probably used right?

As far as the length of the cocking indicator (whether it is the actual plunger rod or not), I noticed that there is a whole in the stock; this leads me to believe that the arm is at least that long.

As far as how long that distance is, it's you guys' best guess.

I'll buy one when they come out if it's around the same price as when the longshot was, but im not too psyched. It's gunna be a bitch to cock with a spring replacement, the sights will be useless outside of maybe twenty feet, the stock seems like it would break easily, and all kinds of other stuff like FA mentioned.

Idea-based on the maveirck slide, wouldn't it be easy to stick a LS cocking rod in that groove?

Edit: spelling

I really hope it isn't glued shut like the transformer guns. Yes, I know, it probably isn't, but I still REALLY hope it isn't. Anyway, do you guys think the clips will be the same design and size as the longshot clips? I've got a few longsthot clips and would really appreciate not having to buy more designed for the RC.

It look descent.

Pros.

Clipped pistol.
Takes longshot clips.
Since you can take off the stock and other parts you won't have to take out about a million screws like the longshot.

Cons.
Stock look flimsy
Laser is probably cheap
And how you have to cock it

I just know that I will get one

Make sure the top of your gun is parallel to the ground when firing.
Finish those other mods so I have something else to read on here.
Now have a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up. :)

The stock clicks on. The front barrel connects like the LongShot front gun (I mentioned this already). The laser thing and the sight slide onto the standard rail system that is the same on all the blasters so far that use it.

So now we can all have 2 "focused" beams of red light on all our NFs!

If the plunger rod does indeed come out of the gun when you prime it, it shouldn't be too difficult to add something to it so it primes like conventional (does not include sliders) springers. Although, you would probably need cement to hold it down when you replace the spring. Also, the slider probably acts as the bolt action, so that would add another step towards firing the gun, but it seems pretty insignificant to me. I just hope they use titanium alloy as the slider catch or else we'll all end up with the clip version of the maverick. :D

Other then that, the stock issue seems of little concern since you could possibly add some PVC to reinforce it or make a new stock altogether.

The front part holds the most value since you could basically take the locking system and add any gun you have onto it and it would still fit on. If the locking system rotates like the LS front gun, then it would be "relatively" easy to make a mold for it so you can make as many integrations as you want.

In my eyes, this gun should be called the Modular CS-6 or the DIY CS-6 or my favorite, Come Up With Whatever The Fuck You Want To Add Onto It CS-6, or simply, the CUWWTFYWTAOI CS-6.

No, I purposefully left out one of these: :P
I'm totally serious.

Awesome! People are already starting to use my abbreviation!

Anyway, I've got a question about the gun. Does the front barrel affect the dart in any way or is it purely cosmetic?

This gun looks freaking awesome, and I'm definitely getting one. Hasbro better make extra "packs" of equipment that have different things you can put on it, like a second blaster in place of the laser. That is going to be one sick gun. Hopefully that thin stock is reinforced, otherwise its obviously going to break.

Warning: Math Content!

Maybe this was kind of obvious, but...

Posted Image

I first measured the length (on the picture) that the slide looks like it can move. On my monitor, that turned out to be 17mm.

Since we know that the magazine pictured is the same as the LS mags, I then measured the width of the magazine in the picture: 14.5mm

From that alone, we can see that the length of the plunger draw and that of the LS mag are fairly close. To be more exact, however, we can use the relationship:

Length of slide movement (pic)/length of mag (pic) = length of slide movement (real life)/length of mag (real life)

Unfortunately, I don't know of any LS mags within 45 minutes of me (besides those in stores, of course). So, I can't give you the answer.

However, if someone would kindly measure the length of their LS mag (in inches or millimeters, doesn't matter) then multiply by 17 and divide by 14.5, we'll know the length of the plunger chamber.

Of course, that tells us nothing about the radius of the plunger chamber, but at least it's something.

Edit: Furthermore, to find total length, its the mag length times 122 and divided by 14.5.
Finally, the length of just the pistol (as far as I can tell) is the mag length times 44.5 and divided by 14.5.

The LS mag is 3 1/8" or 8cm.

So:
(3.125 * 17)/14.5 = 3.66" Or about 3 11/16"

Or:
(8 * 17)/14.5 = 9.38cm

Compare that to a Maverick which has a spring measured at 2.5" or 6.4cm approx.
