I cant get the plunger head off. Will it be ok to just leave the stock spring on? Or will it affect the ranges dramatically. If I need another spring will a recon spring work?

The Recon spring will work, but you won't really gain anything. And yes, the springs are realy where all of the range is coming from. Otherwise, the plunger volume is similar to a BBB. I was actually able to (with some effort) wind on 1/2 of a +Bow spring without removing the head.

It did not deform my plunger head, though I'd wait to ask angel just incase it can possibly do so, I just gripped one side of the rubber with a pair of pliars and pried the plunger head off. It was quick, painless, and simple to do that way. I have yet to get it back on...

As Draconis said though, the springs are essential to the blaster. Personally, if you have no access to industrial springs, I'd go with a BBB, LS, and the stock spring. Turret-plunger tube seal is also quite important to the blaster.

EDIT- Also though, I'm not trying to be a backseat mod, but such a question would most likely be better through PM, rather than reviving an old topic, as doing so is extremely erotic.

Hold the plunger tip in BOILING WATER for a few seconds and it will soften. If you do it right it will pop right off, and boil again to pop it back on. The stock spring is pure shit, so you must add more power. The strength of the internals is the only reason you can beef this gun up with so many powerful springs. It requires little reinforcements, though I still suggest you reinforce as much as you can.

Also be careful, because after you remove the plunger head from the boiling water it will be hot... and you can burn yourself.

Also getting it OFF is 10 times easier than putting it back on. The way I put it back on was first heating it in water, and I placed it on the nub and used a flat head screw driver to poke the edge of the center of it over the middle pole part on the plunger rod.

Ha I guess I'm lucky, my plunger head had a screw on the top:) But yes please make sure you have the seal from the plunger to the turret allmost perfect, appropriate springs( I used a bbb,stock, and ls combo). And as you add more springs please make sure you do reinforce the plunger rod, and the trigger catch hook.
