It wasn't hard to aim at all. I could adjust the elevation of the sights and get very consistent results. Also I would imagine this is hard to aim because of the barrel position. How is it's accuracy?

What do you plan to do if you can't retrieve the ABP5k? Are you going to make another one (it would be easier the second time around, right?), or say "fuck it"?
Probably dead by now, or something.

If I have to start from scratch I'll probably make a new design that uses an actuated ram-rod breech and a gravity clip. Using magazines was making the gun rather large and makes reloading a pain. What do you plan to do if you can't retrieve the ABP5k?
Realistic? No. Everything else, yes.So it's an accurate, good looking, realistic, semi-automatic nerf gun that doesn't need to be cocked or pumped? WOW!

I lost nearly my whole arsenal in an Airbus mixup. I got my stuff back, but I'm pretty sure the passenger kept 3 of my discontinued guns.
Even if the guy contacts you, don't expect everything back.

That really sucks as far as money spent.- 4500/88 paintball tank
- CenterFlag 201 adjustable on-tank regulator
- Clippard MAR-1P adjustable regulator
That really sucks as far as time spent developing/building/dartsmithing.- ABP5K w/ two longshot magazines
- BOB II
- Two Modified Nitefinders
- 500 of my style of stefans
Lesson I learned: Always take your Nerf guns in a carry-on, if at all possible.
I wish you luck in getting all that back, CS.

If and when I get around to making a second one I have had many requests for a write-up rather than a build log.If you ever get to the point that you want to give the plans away or sell them for that matter. I would be intrested in picking up a set of the plans. I have the skills to build one just not the time as of right now.
I didn't make the thread as a write-up simply because the gun was extremely experimental in nature. I went into it knowing that there were a lot of unknown because there's very little in the way of solid numbers when it comes to the the requirements for an effective air-powered Nerf gun.
The only thing I wasn't happy with in terms of results was the fact that the minimum operating pressure of abp5k was much higher than I had wanted it to be. I'm pretty sure the cause of that is the trigger valve being smaller than it should be.
To make another you would have to have access to all of the same tools as me. And that's a lot of tools. I used...
+ Table Saw
+ Drillpress
+ Scroll Saw
+ Band Saw
+ Machine Lathe
+ Manual Knee Mill
+ Tapping Set (1/8 NPT, 1/4 NPT, & #6-32)
The part cost is hard to estimate but I'm pretty sure a duplicate would involve $100 in materials, not counting the excess supplies leftover. I need to experiment with larger valve designs to see if I can get a lower minimum pressure level, and the other flaw in the design was the difficulty of routing tubing because I hadn't expect to be using the larger sized I ended up needed to use.
tl;dr version: No not yet. I would have to make another one with some changes.
And to answer the "will you make me one and how much would it cost" question, the answer is: No.
Even though it only took me a few days of machining to make 95% of the parts, it still involved a lot of materials and effort. More than I was expecting it to.

dear god man! That's the best hommade I've ever seen! Where did you get the plastic? I need some for a currentb mod and the stuff seems pretty durable. Again, that's the best I've seen in all of my 10 weeks here at Nerfhaven!
And in that 10 week stay did you learn anything? The last post was fromOctober 2007, necro much?
