Um your a dumbass I used the 50FT. yellow line from the stop sign as a benchmark. Then took a 25' measuring tape and I had to roll it out 2 times and it still didn't reach mine dart. It turned out to be 112'. I don't give two shits about what any of you think I had 3 witnesses there to prove it so fuck off and post a mod instead of flaming.

Ok first off I never directed anything at you personally just you modification. So don't fucking start this shit; don't call me a dumbass because I have way more fucking knowledge about this shit than you. You better come to the next war and that gun better be hitting "112ft".

Second I hope you realize that after about 10-15 minutes in a war your barrel is going to snap right off. Hot glue isn't a substitute for epoxy.

Third most of my mods are barrel replacements, and in the 4 years I have been modding I have noticed that re barreling a nerf gun is almost the same with any other one. Unlike everyone here I don't do write-ups because unless you are retarded you can figure it out. If you've seen one mod that has to do with changing a barrel you have the knowledge to do it with any other gun. Plus why the hell would I want to share my secrets with assholes like you.

By the way I epoxied my cpvc onto the plunger. But whatever. Let's end this retarded flame war now. And leave it at that. I'm sorry if I got on anyones nerves but I was in a semi-pissy mood and its hot as all hell in my room which probably doesn't help. Anyone sorry to Ted for calling you a dumbass and sorry for everyone that was offended my posts.

After my bro shot his xbow, I was standing there holding the tape measurer and it did in fact come out to 112'. I was watching him and the dart and he didn't angle it at all.

Batman's voice was all snarly and shit. Not in the cool way. He sounded like a cross between a 13 year old in a garage metal band and the cookie monster.

If the temperature and wind is just right and the skirt on the plungerhead still has original lube and its still completetly flared its possible. But it wont last. Maybe 50 shots. Then the plunger head goes to heck in a handbasket. Thats just how it is.
We should stop calling out/making fun of/pissing GC off. He's actually contributed and is available for trade. He's a better than average member no doubt. Got your back Cole.

I already know whats coming to me but anyway....

Originally I was in disbelief of this mod to the crossbow. So I took a stock one that I had sitting around and did this mod to it thinking I would just replace the barrel later. But I was amazed at my results. I did his write-up and I can say I was getting up to 110'.

If conditions are right amazing things happen. Take my 1K and 250 and 350. They get in the low 70s. CONSISTANTLY.

I really don't believe that. An Airtech 1000 has the plunger tube the size of a roll of nickels, if not smaller. I can only see this happening if you have a perfect barrel fit, wind and heat to increase dart fit. Even then, the wind would most likely be carrying it. I'm not sure about the Sm250 and 350, though.

Alright already. I've seen crossbows firing megas break the 100ft mark, and when I first modded binky up for micros and test fired her with heavy load cdtd's, I was getting about 100 feet on a flat angle as well.

That said, nerf wars are not won on the firing range. Every gun I have ever modified gets best ranges within the first 50 shots and drops off a bit after that. If you have a crossbow that gets 112" feet consistently with non-custom darts (darts made soley for that gun) expect some breakage. I don't care how well modded Ted's crossbow is, and I don't care how much Hersch knows. This is 10 years of modded crossbow experience talking. The ranges he's talking could very well be true.....just don't expect a reliable crossbow to get you more than 80-90' on a consistent basis throughout the course of a war, especially using the ammo you're picking up off the ground.

Now enough. He has a modded crossbow, join the club.

I was nerfing with Mcflurry today and he was shooting hard without stefans and he took about 25-30 shots atleast. It did not seem to let up at all.

I think I am correct in remembering that the 1k has the same plunger and spring as a doubleshot. Doubleshots can get 70'.

To day i had a semi war with Fl nerf gunner, parkway, and mcflurry, and mcflurry had his cross bow. so we played in a park about 80ft to 90ft. so me and mcflurry are on oppisite sides of the park. i thought he wouldn't have made, but an easy shot missed me but went far over the fence. so it's easy to sea the ranges are pretty acurate and the mod is perfect. no bull shit.

In English please?

As for the general conversation: X-Bows, as with all other guns, have a limited life span. The components, primarily the plunger and catch, will weaken over time. You'll need to upgrade and reinforce every once in a while, depending on how often you use the gun. Otherwise, and sometimes in spite of this effort, the gun will break at its weakest point after continued use. If this happens in the middle of a war, consider yourself up shit creek with no canoe.

Ok, just relax guys. I really wish I wasn't still reading this thread, but it's like a car accident, it's hard to turn away. It's laudable for your clan to back you up on the forums, and I understand where you're coming from. However, EVERYTHING you guys have said concerning the confirmation of his ranges has been completely and uterly vague and ralative to distances that you have in no way measured. The field you play on is 80-90 ft and it was shooting far over it....well how long is far, and if the field is 80 that could mean it's shooting about 90, which is about par for the course for a well modified crossbow. Someone also said the gun fired "hard" all day. These are subjective measurements that just don't mean a whole lot.

Does that mean your gun is not firing as far as you say it is? No, it means nothing. I, for one, don't doubt your claims at all, but this topic is getting you guys nowhere. Practice with your new gun and prove it's worth the only way that really counts, by taking it to us next season. Congrats on your new gun, please don't make me read about how "hard" and "far" it shoots anymore.
