I'm with WldWorld on this one. Alot is my answer, but it happens when you've done 25+ mods before.
Some examples would be as folllows:
Original TTG-Got it at Goodwill for a buck. (My cuz dry fired it and blew the front of the plunger tube off.)
Buzzsaw
Countless mavericks
LS front gun
Many, Many more.

2 Mav's, fixed one (other one, plunger nob thing broke)
Messed up another mav pritty bad, and now it gets anywhere form not out of the barrel to twenty feet.

That is the only gun I have broken. I could put it back together but I don't feel like it and I through all the parts and my guns in a cardboard box, stupid bbb pissed me off.

I am proud to say that I have never broken any gun worth more than $8. However... I have broken two Mavericks (One of which i took apart 5-6 times causing the screwholes on the shell to strip, and the other one actually broke due to a much-too-strong spring replacement) and cannibalized one Nightfinder for parts. Hmmm... now that I think about it, I opened up my friend's very beat-up Wildfire, and all of the plastic attachment points for the tubing broke off (Two on the pump, one on the bladder end cap) This, in addition to the turret rotation mech being busted to hell, lead to me saving the shell, turret, and bladder. I hope to use the shell to integrate my other friend's RF20... as soon as I can get the damn shell dremeled out enough to fit said RF20 mechanism. So all in all, I have only really broken $12 worth of Nerf weaponry out of the 14 and counting sucessful mods that I've done. I suppose thats the price I paid for the modding experience.

Secret Shot 2 - starting leaking, so it might've actually just broken itself: $20 (ebay price)
SM250 - started to rebarrel it with crayolas but decided it just wasn't worth it: probably about $5
Blastfire - I don't even remember what I did, but I know it was messed up badly: $15
Ratchetblast - wouldn't stay in the up position anymore: probably about $15
Madhornet - also very leaky, and just plain bad: $10 maybe
SSPB - dart won't leave the barrel: $3
EAB - somehow messed up the plunger head really badly: $20
Roommates Maverick - shoots about 15 feet after I tried modding it: $8
Total: $96
Those were only some of my early mods though, I had a lot more that turned out well and haven't broken any since I started up again recently (aside from the maverick, but it only shot 4 out of 6 darts when it was stock most times anyway).

I have only broken 1 maverick which i bought 2 bottles of paint for then i almost broke my new fire fly which i fix and only loses like 3 feet but i just started to like nerf i broke my maverick by doing that straw mod which i still cant figure out what wrong oh well. i havent done much damage but my mom wont let me buy any more dart guns but that pisses me off because i want a i stikefire or save up for a longshot.
so it costed me 2bottles of paint= $10
+ mav=$8 = about $18 so im not doing too bad

First off, I have only broken 1 maverick, out of the 14 or so gun that I have. My longshot is incredibly inconsistant with ranges, so we'll call that a half break.

Only a few, mainly in my early days. Most just sort of wear out after about a year or more of heavy use. Anyway, whenever something does break, I just make a new part from an old dell tower case.
