A lack of barrel CAN hurt range, on very high-powered guns. My Titan, Airtech 2000, and Crossbow, for example. Without their barrels, they will blast the back, unweighted end of my stefans in circles, causing them to fishtail and spiral and hardly move forward at all. A barrel is necessary to channel the power of those guns in the right direction.
Nitefinder? Maverick? Magstrike? Crossfire, etc? It still hurts not to have a real barrel, but it's not as vividly apparent.
There's still ROOM in the Longshot carbine for a brass barrel replacement.

also It isn't as simple as just takeing a hack saw to it.... ok it is but if you want to make it look good you have to have a little finess.

I meant do that, lose the ARs, replace the barrel, and make it shoot stefans. I can easily saw the front off. But I want to do more and that is the problem. All you do is saw the front off.It also looks danm sexy in my oppion.
That it does, that it does.
Anyways, nice mod! I wish I could do that, I lack experience. Is there a possibility of a write-up in the future?

I think that to make this a good rushing, or light, medium-rof, medium range weapon, one should not replace the spring with something very powerful. Possibly an EX-3 NF spring, to add just a bit more power.
The reason for this is in two parts.
One, unless you are rather strong, you cannot cock the LS with one hand (unless you have the foregrip), and thus you must take your hand off the handle and cock, put your hand back on, shoot, and so on. This slows down rof slightly, but that time may end up costing you in a Nerf war. Thus, having a weaker spring increases rof.
Two, since the barrel is non-existant, having a very strong spring would decrease accuracy. I don't know about all of you, but I would rather have a little less range, but have my weapon be more accurate.
This modification has the potentional of making the LS the perfect compact, powerful weapon. But it all depends on your playing style.

I agree with that. I'm probably going to throw together one of these before I go off to college, It would be awesome for indoor wars, especially if you took off the stock, making it even smaller.
Yes, I forgot to mention it is perfect for indoor wars.
the stock would make it smaller, but in the picture it is already collapsed, and when it is off, it doesn't look as good, in my opinion. But aesthetics don't mean squat if it gets you killed (with foam, of course...)

It looks like there's still some space in the front. Is there enough space to put in a shotgun foregrip? It might seem a bit silly on such a small weapon, but it looks like it might just fit, since it's after all a wholly external addition.
If you are talking about CaptainSlug's shotgun foregrip, then no. The part of the gun that the grip uses as a guiderail is gone now when you cut the front of the gun off.

Doing the shotgun foregrip would not work unless you stuck it way out in front of the gun. The pulling back motion would hit the clip.It looks like there's still some space in the front. About how much are you holding in the pictures on the spools?
A shit ton.
The shot hit Andy squarely in the forehead. He was, in fact, on my team.

not if you had enough clearance to go around the clip, and put in a hardpoint to steady it. it wouldn't be too hard to put a foregrip on there at all, the trouble would be getting the clip out
Then what is the point of adding the grip in the first place if it will make removing the clip harder? There is no purpose in adding a foregrip to this gun. It will actually defeat the purpose of cutting it down to reduce it's size. Here is a picture from the thread where CaptainSlug sells his shotgun foregrip showing where it rests at the front of the gun. Adding any type of hardpoint to be able to mount the foregrip would be pointless.

I really like the Black and Red paint job on one of them.
You could also try a different material for the clip.

(Ever heard of a sawed off combustion loser rifle? Me neither.)
hope that clarifies what I attempted to say earlier.

If by what you attempted to say was sn iper rifle, then point made. whoever thought of replacing sn iper with loser was a genius.
I know this is nerf but in the military the sni per is one of the most feared and respected positions. I personally decide to become one some day if I enlist instead of trying to go to West Point. Just sayin', don't diss losers.
