But if you have that sight, why would you need more than one shot? ;)

Because it is harder to dodge 10 darts than just 1. Also the sight isn't going to do much for you, it's there to look cool and that's about it.

I think you're both failing to see that you couldn't look through the scope anyway, because the clip's in the way.

That's why he said that it was the most rediculous gun for the sight.

I think the sight is totally useless. No zoom(no need) no need for close range, and pointless. I think that it would look very cool on the firefly or the mav.

I just got a longshot and all I can say is that this thing must just be for looks. Even though someone with a brain added more horizontal lines for more range, it will never hit it's intended target unless you are 2 feet away from it. If Nerf was going to make a sight, they could of at least made it fuctional (I hate to blame the R&D team, really) ^_^ ). They could of angled the sight downward so you can aim the gun upward. Honestly, using the graduated lines, I can aim at something more than 40 ft away, the target isn't visible through the sight anymore. Oh well, it's better to use your insticts and experience to angle the gun, more brain power=smarter.

I'm leaving this thread open just because it's so much fun to read the little quibbling going on about the "scope" on the Longshot.

If I could refresh your memories, read this thread about the new releases earlier this year.

A few of you commented on how cool the scope must be, optics, etc. Good stuff.

Hasbros R & D department must be having a good laugh. Chiefthe, you there? ^_^

Nevertheless, the scope is there whether you like it or not. Some do, some don't, the important thing is that it keeps much of you happy.

There are STILL NO Longshots/ Magstrikes in Hawaii...yet. Still lookin!

Wow, I had no idea that original topic GOT THAT FREAKING BIG.

Anyway, the scope isn't a scope, big effing deal no? The Team still released an aesthetically pleasing, pretty moddable, clip-fed, high ROF, easily reloadable weapon for our grubby little mitts. Even out of the box I was pleased and am getting a kick out of yelling "HALO" at my friends while waving a NF that has the sight on it. Yes, I know that's ridiculous. Carrtoon made it a force to be reckoned with, and the Horsemen put it out in the field.

Thanks, R & D!

I couldn't help but notice that the Longshot looks like the Morita rifle from Starship Troopers.

How right you are...

I guess I'll cut off about 5 inches of the extension barrel and place it on the main body. It'll look like the compact version (bottom):

Can we get a pic of that scope on the scout please?
That is, if anyone has one because everyone thinks it sucks.
