EDIT- I found another.

http://www.buzzbeeto...2006/04310.html

This one looks cool because of its shell ejection. The problem with buzz bee is that the guns don't get too good ranges...

That Tommy 20 looks pretty crazy...like an RF20 with a cosmetic change. It doesn't look too comfy to hold, though...check out the trigger-handle placement. The other one just looks like an LBB knockoff.

EDIT: Mustang Six, eh? It looks to be Buzz Bee's Maverick Answer...with cool shell-ejection (my favorite thing about Buzz Bee Guns) and a really gay-looking orange thing on the front.

The Tommy 20 is motorized so it's going to be loud as hell, and it won't work if it is anything like the Triple Mech. (maximun range is 2 inches with that piece of shit. I burned it, And it stunk up my house.)

The LBB knockoff..... Lanard should sue them. That would be great.

And the gay version of the maverick.......

Shell ejection sucks during a war, and I'm not impressed with their other shell ejection guns (My Double shot gets a max range of 5 feet.) I'll stick with Nerf's Mav.

I've already wasted $40 on buzz bee guns that suck, and I'm not going to buy these.

I HATE BUZZ BEE GUNS. (No offense to anyone who has gotten one to actually work...)

I actually think the LBB knock-off will be pretty good...Maybe it will be easier to plug the pump on this one.

None of these guns really surpasses anything available on the market now. The Big Blast looks JUST like Lanards sonic bazooka, which gets tops the range of an At2k whence modded.

The Mustang is a shell (read: crappier) version of the mav.

Probably the most promising is the sweet looking tommy gun. I just want to buy it to paint it black. But it would be a lesser version of the Rf20 seeing as its only as fast as you can pull the trigger and the battery will make each successive shot weaker.

Overall there's nothing to get too excited over here. My money is still on the nerf fall line up. -Jabs

The only one that looks like it holds virtually any promise is the LBB knockoff. I think the other two won't get that far. The thing that irks me about the BuzzBee blasters is that the plastic seems so fragile. And it isn't quite a good idea to burn them. There's a decent chance that you could be breathing in some carcinogen in the plastic fumes.

Frankly, I'm not a BuzzBee fanatic, but it was interesting to look at.

So, I'm still left wondering why they want to make their guns look like they were torn out of an old cartoon. I understand perfectly well not wanting them to look like real guns, but I can't imagine a toy gun that looks like a motorized bubble blower appealing to a younger me.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

I wonder what would happen with a few heatsinks, fans, 12VDC 100+amp PSU (re: car battery), and a capacitor would do to that electric thing...
Muahahaha...

o,o

The 'Wild Wing' looks like a Dr. Seuss gun! Who did they have working on that thing?!

The Tommy could use some work. Knowing it's motorized though pretty much eliminates any chance of decent power. Their other motorized gun was the most pathetic toy I've ever had the misfortune to use.

The LBB knockoff actually looks better I think... Hopefully the insides are as durable and easy to mod.

No lanard is there own company. Definately a LBB knockoff. Tommy 20 looks ok but battery powered guns suck. The mustang actually might be promising. Notce the cocking mechanism is similar to a Maxshot. That thing looks more like a force gun than anything. I think the musang six might be a good one. But then again buzzbee has dissapointed us many times over.

Be glad there is atleast competition. I guarantee the new NERF guns would not have looked as good if it wasn't from the Buzz Bee/Lanard pressure.

Well, we've all seen how shitty those shells are, but if you brass that thing, you may be able to get some good ranges.

Stallion, normally I agree with everything you say, but in this case I don't think you are totally right. Nerf is 1000 years ahead of the competition. Buzz Bee wishes they had the market share, creativity and overall sales that Hasbro has. They cannot hold a candle to the stuff Hasbro has put out and is working on.

From my discussions with the folks over there, it's clear to me that they don't even consider other toy companies competition, let alone a threat. What motivates Hasbro is every year going above and beyond what they put out the year before. They push themselves to be the best. They are proactive.

That said, that Tommy 20 looks pretty kickass. It's a novelty worth having, like the Double Shot, or the Rapid Fire Rifle. The LBB ripoff looks promising....

Of course the ripoffs are going to look cheap or cartoonish; they're based off of well designed nerf brand guns, but can't look too similar due to lawsuits. Speaking of what their designs are based on, look familiar?

Posted Image

Buzz bee really doesn't look to have original content comming out at the moment, and the cheap plastic really detracts from their guns, at least to me. Why would I buy the knockoff when I can get the real maveric for only a few bucks anyway? I'll wait to judge the other two new ones just yet, but my expectations are low.

I don't know why so many people are specualting that the tommy 20 is going to have crappy range, and be super noisy. Are you guys all assuming that it will fire with spinning wheels, because if you look at the picture than it definitely does not look like that. Plus I couldn't see spinning wheels being used with standard micros. I'm guessing that the battery power re-cocks a plunger with each shot, in which case that thing will be totally sweet. Another theory could be that the battery power runs a pump that perssurizes an air chamber similar to an rf20. That would produce some pretty good range too. Plus its not like powerclips or rf20's are quiet, so im not worried about noise being a comparable problem.

The LBB has poor quality plastic too, but the gun is soo big that the stress is able to spread itself over a lot of area and make up for the thin wall.

Right now they don't sell LBBs near me (recently pulled a ton of stuff) so I'm looking forward to the LBB knock-off.

Good point, Veggieboy. If the Tommy 20 works like that, we could have a great gun here, but I doubt that buzz bee is going to make something this complicated after all the other guns were so horrible.

I still hate buzz bee.

It does say "motorized" on the site, but that doesn't definitely mean that it uses spinning wheels. If you look closely at the picture, right behind the orange muzzle break is a cylinder which looks very much like it could be a wheel housing.

Ohh i know that Nerf is WAAAY ahead of the competition. Nerf has practically perfected the engineering behind each and ever model. I for one went out and bought a few Double shots. The whole shotgun thing is just really awesome and IMO is ahead of its time. Its the first gun that i have bought new for myself since 2002.

Just a few short years ago all Nerf was doing was throwing old ideas inside new shells. As good as the 2001-2003 guns were, most of them were just re-makes. I don't know if it is coincidence that right after the Lanard guns came out that Nerf starting stepping their game up.

I know i don't want to sound like a know it all (because believe me, I'm FAAAR from it) but do you honestley believe they would tell you that they consider their competition a threat? Do you think those at Hot Wheels would tell their loyals customers that Matchbox cars were forcing them to step their game up? I know i wasn't there and i didn't witness anything with my own eyes, but I just believe that seeing those guns like the Max Shot really fired some of those guys up. Whether they would admit it or not.

That being said, Nerf is and always will be the leader in Foam shooting guns.

The promotional ad for the tommy 20 is frickin' hilarious, eh?
I think the tommy 20 will be great. I can recreate a scene from the 1920's in my history class. :D

I especially like the tag line at the end, "The Tommy 20, Fun at the edge of Reality!" What the heck is that supposed to mean? As far as power, all the shooting in the ad is done close up and the gun doesn't sound like it's got a lot of power behind it either. I do like that they've put a stock on it though.
