Thanks for all the compliments guys, I used krylon fusion for all the main paint then did the detail by hand. I will post my other matching guns as soon as I finish them this weekend.

what did you use for detailing?

That's an amazing job, Longbow. I find that relatively flat colors usually look best in the end on NERF guns...Mainly I'm really impressed by how clean the job is. Looks factory-fresh. I can't wait to see the matching pieces.

That's pretty good for a first paintjob. If I you have a steady hand, you should do some detailing on the tubes and mechanisms.

Gump, that looks pretty nice. You use the same black/silver scheme that I do. I really like the was those two colors work together.

I don't really undestand why General Cole is making articles of clothing with my name on it. First it frightened me, but after a few hours I got over it. It seems obvious that General Cole is hoping to have sex with me.

Here's my NF.

I dont want to paint it cause the internals are exposed where i tore out the laser (trying to fool around with it).
Calibrating it is pretty impossible because it's cpvc slip in pvc slip.

The light works pretty well indoors, even in the light. In the dark you can probably use it as far as the shot goes.

Pics of precision.

Name
BuzzKill
Mod
A/R's removed. PETG barrel. SSPB integration. Ammo holders in where the batteries used to go.
DoubleShot spring replaced the original one.

I named it BuzzKill cause I thought it kinda looked like a bee.

Alice came to the fork in the road.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

its just a two tone method. It looks cool but if you do it wrong it can make the gun un useable.

I don't know about 'two toned method' I just know that I used a contrasting color of paint to bring out the raised portions and the edges.

On painted metal chipping and wearing of the paint starts on the edges and the raised portions, The streak effect was an accident, too much paint on my brush, I decided it looked good so I kept it. Plus, it works just fine...I can't wait to get ahold of a long shot to paint Mmmm Mmmm

And, Direct Threat?

OK guys, longtime lurker so here's my first post. Yes there are a glut of NF mods on this thread already, but as I got it for $5 I couldn't pass up the chance to try my first mod. The standards of course: Air restrictors removed, industrial spring replacement, sealed and new barrel, reinforced inner bits and some minor cosmetic mods. Including taking the two stupid dart holders off the bottom and turning them into four in exchange for the useless light plus two in the grip. With LS darts it gets about 80'. My home made darts fall a little shorter at around 60-70. I'll paint it eventually.

what say you?

I drilled a hole in the air restrictor in these. Does anyone know if these are rare and if so how much do they go for in mint condition?

If I were to make a write up for my photo box would it go in off topic or general nerf?

So I have been doing mods now for all of 3 weeks, and I have finished several projects. I have done the standard AR removal and roulette mod on a few Mav's; replaced the barrel, removed the AR, and integrated a flashlight into a NF: and done the integration of a Longshot with its forward gun. Pics are limited but more will be coming as I finish paint jobs and such. Images are shown in the order I worked on them.

I am disappointed that i didn't get into this sooner, the new line of guns is pretty limited, but I just added another Longshot that I will be modifying to look like Vera from Firefly for my friend. After these pics were taken (last weekend) I chopped the ammo holders off the NF and primered it after filling the gaps that left. Anyone have a suggestion on the next set of guns I should invest in? I was thinking the Unity system or the 2 player Dart Tag Gun set, heck I might even go for a Magstrike of a RF20. PM me with ideas or if you live in the south texas area.

I discovered nerf again while watching the behind the scenes stuff on the robot chicken dvd's. So far I've done two mav's with the help from this site. The green one has the peg, AR removal and a stretched spring. For the desert tan, I removed the peg and drilled out the AR but left the black three prong and spring in the cylinders. Then I added the spring from the useless forward gun of the longshot. I stretched it and the stock mav spring. That along with the AR mod i estimate a gain of about 10 feet. Flight path is much flatter and the sting is exceptional.
