She's all done. This is my air compressor powered sceptor. Works beautifully.

So far, I have only taken her up to 50 psi. It takes about 12 seconds to get there and I can fire off about 6 good shoots.

I don't care (if you ate sceptors and air compressor powered blasters... especially combined) I love it.

I came across this post by Ice Nine, and it inspired me to try out some long-exposure, no-flash night shots. In this case, I used a dark room. I varied the amount of lighting and the shutter speed (I even went up to fifteen seconds), and I came up with some excellent shots. These kind of photos give you much more focus on all aspects of the subject than flash photos do, so even if your blaster is angled, you still get very clear photos. If you are wanting to try out photos like these, give it a whirl. You may have to use a quality camera, though. Mine is a Nikon D40, which is a DSLR. You will also have to play around with the settings such as aperture and especially shutter speed.

Posted Image

I modified this Lanard First Shot quite a long time ago.

Posted Image

Posted Image

As you can see in the above photos, a shorter shutter speed gives more clarity in details such as writing on the blaster and shadows made by it. A longer shutter speed (Up to a certain point, that is. After that it just start becoming progressively more washed out.) makes truer colors on the blaster, but lacks a slight amount of detail in shadows and writing. Unfortunately, Photobucket robbed my pictures of some of their clarity, so you can't really see the shadows anymore. It is a shame that almost, if not all photo hosting sites compress your photos. They basically cut out light and detail to minimize the photo's size.

I really like this type of photography: it gives better focus, and there is no glare on the subject from the flash.

Gave my failure of a hoppered LongShot some loving the last few days.
Posted Image
It uses the boltsled and the original priming handle to push the barrel assembly backwards.
Posted Image
The return spring is inside the blaster and the boltsled is bolted through the wye and the cpvc.
Hopefully it holds.

I found an untouched Nitefinder in my box o' Nerf, and it is now no longer stock.
Posted Image

CPVC barreled, party popper spring + stock spring, AR removed, seal improvements. I tried to keep it as stock looking as humanly possible. I was expecting the usual maybe 60 feet, but this one surprised me..... it's got to be getting at least 75 feet. It left welts on me at close range from Elite darts.

I based this splat on Blitz's here http://nerfhaven.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5250&st=3765
MIne has a few changes. Mine is using 1 1/4 in thinwall pvc for the plunger, everything is also mechanically fastened, and it houses a k45+K31 combo up in the front. This ridiculous spring power, coupled with the already diddle spring in the blaster, allows it to hit upwards of 95 feet.

Whilst hunting zombies at night during https://www.facebook.../DarkTempusLarp, I discovered a slight problem with my retaliator, in that to use my torch I either had to lose my vertical grip or lose my sight. So I went all COD on it and fixed it.

Oooooo.

Long live Crossbows.

Posted Image

Posted Image

I'm about 5 years late to this party... YOLO!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Name: #CarpeYOLOSwag420_MLG_2Legit2Quitbow
Mods Done: Level 5 (You've probably never heard of it before).
Integrations: +Bow, Mad Swagger, Dildo.
Ranges: Farther than your Crossbow.

Comments: After neglecting my Crossbow for close to two years, I finally decided to modify it for war use. The archived modifications for Crossbows are largely subpar for actual war use. I looked to Coop's recent Crossbows and started from scratch with similar techniques.

A common problem with replacing the plunger tube on a Crossbow is that a +Bow sized plunger tube (1.5" OD) is slightly too large for the shell, leaving a 1/8-1/4" gap. This has lead to smaller plunger tube replacements to avoid this gap, with losses in range and hopperability.

Fuck that, I went with the +Bow plunger tube. With adequate additional screws this gap can be closed across the shell quite easily.

Securing the plunger tube into the shell was accomplished by two screws in the rear spring rest of the plunger tube. This bypasses the need for a screw through the front bushing, and by proxy the need for a plunger tube housed entirely within the shell. This allowed me to achieve a greater length of draw with a +Bow length of plunger tube (11 and 1/2 inches); A tad over 6 inches of draw.

Before I started this project I debated the practicality of modifying a Crossbow in this day and age of the NIC community. I doubted whether or not it would fill a useful niche along with my +Bow or pump-action dick guns.

It does. It shoots as far if not farther than my +Bow, is mad comfortable, compact, and obviously swagnificent. If anybody ever tries to tell you that Crossbows are overrated, they're wrong. So very, very wrong.
