Hey its back sweet. The first games were last night and I watched the Rangers game and the Islanders game and thought that this new ruling system and everything is much more exciting. In the Islanders game in the 3rd period alone there was 4 goals and thats more then there was for the most part in a single game last season. I like the way things are being played and will still be rooting for my Rangers, yea they won their first game finally a good start.

Thoughts? Comments? Post what you think of the future of this season.

I'm also quite pleased to see the NHL up and running. Hockey is/was my most watched sport, so I'm sure that's going to continue. The sport's a big thing in my hometown. A few names that came out of it: Jamie Langenbrunner (NJ Devils), Derek Plante (used to play for Stars, plays Europe now), Corey Millen (retired, played for Calgary), and Brett Hull played college hockey here. For you Jersey guys, you might have heard Langenbrunner's name a few times.

I'm going for the Devils, Wild, and Avalanche this year. Once I get satellite back, I'll be following them.

Huge devils fan here. I was at the game against Pittsburgh last night. All I can say is Martin Brodeur is the greatest goalie professional hockey has ever had. We shut down pittsburgh and sydney crosby every chance. Langenbrunner and Newendyke played well, as did Sergei Brylin and Brian Gionta. It's gonna be a hell of a year for us, even with the new rules. We are still the best penalty killing team in the NHL PERIOD. TWICE the penguins could not score on us 5 on 3. Devils are on their way to cup #4 for sure. What we lost in Niedermayer and Stevens, we make up in Madden and Mogilny.

Also will be interested to see what the Great One can do with the Coyotes.

Ah screw you Hersh, RICHTER was the shit. Sure I accept the defeat the Rangers will be facing against the Devils next game but I will still stick to them. Here we go Jagr.

Oh and of course I gotta go with the Bruins. Leetch has always been my idol seeing as how I played defense. So when I lose the playoff hope with the Rangers hopefully the Bruineys will be there waiting.

If anyone feels like setting up a fantasy league I'll join it.

You posted a link to the forum rule in my thread and I nearly threw my computer out the window. Thats like giving some one a demerit in school and not telling them why just handing them a list of rules because you are TO LAZEY to tell them why.

I was never really a fan of Hockey until my friends and I went to a game in St. Louis. Holy crap, it was the most fun awesome sporting experience I think I have ever been to, short of being on the field when the Rams kicked the shit out of the 49'ers about 4 years back (I did JROTC Color Guard for that game, so we got to sit on the field to watch the entire game). The fans are rabid and awesome, we had good seats, the people running the statium are always giving stuff away; it's just a fun experience. I still don't watch it often on TV or anything, but I definitely have a love for it. I try to keep up with the scores and such though. Go Blues!
