Ah-HA! A fellow swordsman! Anywho, here's my list:

- Fencing (Epee)
- Ultimate Frisbee
- Free Climbing
- Shotokan-ryu Karate

I rather enjoy my fencing sans right-of-way myself. Epee pwns. Earned a C my first season competing, but haven't entered any tournies in years so I'm unranked again.

Used to free climb quite a bit, these days I tend to avoid clinging precariously to sheer cliffs.

Nice! I fenced NCAA in college. I'm one of the oh-so-rare Italian grip fencers, out there. I need to get my ass into the USFA; there's a fencing club about five minutes from where I live (in fact, it's one of the only two clubs in the southern half of New Jersey-- North Jersey, on the other hand, is stock full of Fencing Salles). Only problem is, I can't afford the $180 a month that they want for Private Lessons, or even the $120 a month they demand for group lessons.

Oh, well...

I'm in a similar situation. By a stroke of dumb luck I got taken in by a local corporate club (General Dynamics employees) when I was 18 or 19 and fenced USFA with them for a few years. Unfortunately they got bought out and closed down so I'm without club. Salle Borracho (School of Drunkards) was almost pure epee and was very laid back so I don't know how happy I would be at a traditional salle. Almost all of the salles around here are university affiliated anyhow unless I'm willing to drive 45 minutes into Los Angeles proper.

I have a feeling I may get back into it when my boy gets a little older. He's already expressed an interest.

Sailing is a sport? I guess. I lift weights, box, and run, no school sports for me, I have the corodination of a well I really don't know what fits here to make fun of me, it's too early in the morning.

Yes it is. At coastal colleges, it is considered a fully funded, two semester varsity sport. A lot of small coastal schools have sailing teams, but no football teams. I kid you not, those schools are some of the best in the country.

Sailing small boats is very physical in high winds and demands a lot of agility. Hiking out, which is placing you legs under a bungee in the boat and putting 80% of your body weight suspended over the water is required in high winds to keep the boat flat (think torque) and maintain optimal speed. This puts a lot of strain on your legs. In addition, quick movements are needed for tacks (coming across the wind). This doesn't mention the other muscles that were required to trim lines, and right flipped boats.

Sailing has tired me out more than running.

Uncle Hammer, not to question your skateboarding skills, but where did your shadow go?

As for me, year-round xc/track training.

It's somewhere hiding in that big block of shade.

Yeah, Cx and death, I tried Epee, but didn't like the slower side of it. There is more strategy involved, however, and that part I did like.

In foil, I've only been fencing for around 3 years, and I'm okay. I haven't gone to many competitions, and of the few I have done, I haven't done well at all. I'm getting a lot better now that I've moved up a class and I'm getting private lessons. Whatever, tis just for fun, ya?

Honestly, am I the only one who golfs here? I'm around a 6 handicapper, if anyone wants to compare.

Otherwise:
X-Country running/skiing
Hockey
Snowboarding
Extreme tree-climbing (after watching me, you'd see it's a sport)
Ultimate friz
Bird hunting
Deer hunting
Lake Superior fisherman

I've also been base jumping before, and I can dance like MJ if that counts for something. ;)

Quick question, everybody is talking about their styles of fencing, like Epee and Foil. Now I've never done fencing so I'm kind of confused on what the differences are.

Read this from weapons through right of way. Decent 3 minute overview.

I mountain bike- if anyone knows bikes I have a Gary Fisher Sugar 4+ (the cheap one...)
I also fence... a little. Not competitively, just drunken. Sometimes we'll be sitting around having a few beers and someone will challenge me to a duel. I only know foil, but I guarantee I do stuff that would be considered not foil... and illegal in all types of fencing.

Oh, and I used to paintball and airsoft, and still do when money and time permits.

If you honestly think playing on Yahoo is a real game of pool - you're in for a real shock when you see a game - and I don't mean the 9-Ball Shootout on ESPN - many players could win on ESPN but they simply don't want to go pro.

As you know, I'm no longer young and agile...

...but old and fragile. :w00t:

I wrestled in high school 2 years, until work commitments took over. Began to seriously lift weights at age 18, and by 20 I was powerlifting (bench, squat, deadlift) and had my eye set on the state record bench press for my weight division (145 lbs., record was 365 lb.), and in the process got myself involved with 'performance enhancers'. A word to young people...no matter what people may tell you....don't. As bad as crap drugs, too.

So now in my old age, I mountain bike (after selling my Stumpjumper Pro, downgraded to a simple Bridgestone MB-4), open ocean kayak (sit on top), and fish most ways possible (boat, kayak, shore, pole+line, spear). I haven't played paintball but once since moving away from the city, and hope to do that again here soon.

Interestingly enough, I live in Hawaii, and I don't surf. I just never got the 'bug' like most people here (local or transplanted) do. I'm an anomaly of sorts.

I play lacrosse.
I'm an all-rounder, but mainly Mid-Field/Face-off and Attack.
I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon to head to Perth for the National Tournament, as a matter of fact, because I made the U15 State lacrosse team in only my first year of playing.
I also got Best Team Player in U15's and Most Improved for U17's this season.
I'm pretty damn proud of myself. But not up myself about it either.
I play with an Evo Pro head and Platinum Alloy shaft. Thought i intend to obtain yet another lighter, stronger shaft such as the KryptoPro Kevlar, or just a Kryptolyte.

Same here. For track, I'm a long-sprinter/jumper and I used to do gymnastics for a bit.
