The waffle jokes were pissing me off, mainly because it wasn't funny.

And sorry Baggy, but the waffles weren't funny.

The Whole Point Of the Stupid Waffle-conspiracy was to point out how utterly ridiculous the thread had become, look at how I Posted A Question initially, Then Edited It to show we had things figured out. But the Paranoia continued, so I pulled the silliest Conspiracy I could think of and now everyone is dogin on the Waffles!? What the Crap? Itís just Wack Yo. no, not wigity-wack, just the normal kind... I Appoligize for helping that thread continue on Far Longer than it should have, but at the time I thought it was the funniest thing in the world, I HAVE NO REGRETS! ...well...maybe some...

Bringer Of Pure Silliness,

I am so out of the loop!

I was camping for 5 days, so I totally missed all of the excitement; I feel so left out.

No jokes about that, please.

I first came here, and I saw the suspension notice. My instinct was to hit my computer and grunt/scream/go ape. Then I calmed down, and went to the "backup site". As soon as I read Talio's Exorcist post, I laughed about it. I remember Cx's announcement, and wondered why were all so blind. Ignorance, as Michael Jackson puts it. We're all so ignorant.

Hope everything goes down as planned.

Davis, please, stop the ass kissing, it isn't funny.

On the other hand, it was just a forum, it doesn't govern my ability to nerf, or my ability to just pick up a gun and shoot at a target indoors, something we could all benefit from. But still, C, don't ever leave again. Nub knees went to jelly.

Moving a large database is a pain when you do it through phpMyAdmin. Doing it through SSH is far easier (if your host has it set-up correctly). From a whois I've found your host and they apparently allow shell access, so if you ever need to restore a large database again you should try it that way.

The command my host recommended to use is:

mysql -u yourusername -pYOURPASSWORD dbname < somefile.sql

Take note that there is no space after the -p.

I was cracking up looking at the NHQ posts too. I went to bed before the first page was full. (sub-normal caffine intake the past few days) then I woke up to see all the "government sheeps-blood waffles of doom posts", and I was rolling on the ground laughing like a dope addict.

While I'd admit it seemed wierd at the time, I sure didn't lose any sleep over it.

Oh Fuck. I had already requested and received SSH access too. I wanted to be able to chmod instead of using their stupid control panel. Didn't even consider the possibility that I might be able to work with MySQL via command line.

Thanks for the tip. It will be very useful at some point in the future.

Yep. I would try the command out before relying on it though. My host had some permissions set incorrectly before I contacted them and it took me several weeks to get the database(s) imported (and they had to be done by support).

If you get permission errors and support verified the command was correct, save yourself a lot of time by asking support switch users with the su command and have them investigate the problem. That's what I had to do.

Now it works fine (or at least for now).

It scared the crap out of me. I'm on here daily and for the first time ever i made my first post the day before. I couldnt help but run over my post again and again in my mind to see if said anything wrong. The part that really scared me was if i was banned i wouldnt be able to read all that cool stuff you guys come up with for mods. Out of fear of being kicked off i have a question. Do i get like a Pm or something as a warning first or is it just a cold blooded booting?

It depends who is informing you of the infraction. The easy answer here is that we use both methods. More often than not, we will reply to one or more of your posts with grievances. It is advised that you fix those grievances. My best advice is to follow the CoC, and you shouldn't have major problems here.

By the way, using "I" instead of "i" is a great place to start a road to improvement.

Being suspended doesn't prevent you from reading any of our content, just posting.

I don't think you're likely to be suspended. Keep in mind that it's the lamest 1.5% of our userbase that ends up suspended.

When I was suspended, all of the forum content was locked for me. All of the menus were disabled, and I couldn't even view the board index.

This is kind of late for you, but either logging out or clearing cookies will take care of that. NerfHaven doesn't require membership to read the forums so if you don't log in you can read the forums.

Well then, that's why the suspension works so well on people like me; I had no idea I could do that.

Rather sad for a person whos been here so long, but oh well. Thanks for clearing that up.
