This thread is for the information of all those attending the first MANIAC. Official details below. If you are coming, please leave a post saying you are coming, what guns you are bringing, and who (if anyone) you are bringing. Please no discussion as it will clutter things, if you want to discuss or ask questions please use the thread started by Team Slaya.

What: Massachussetts Area Nerf Interests And Competition, MANIAC

A get together of fellow nerfers from the Massachussetts area.

When: Sunday June 26, 2005 11am-5pm

We begin nerfing at 11 am, and will have everything packed up and cleaned up by 5pm. My advice to you: if you want to check out the competion, or just shoot the breeze, as well as recieve instruction as to where and what we are doing come 30 - 45 miiutes early. We will nerf without you if you are late.

Also, we will stop around 2 for a lunch break, if you want to eat, bring a packed lunch, as I have no idea if there is any eating establishments nearby.

Why: Because we like you... M-O-U-S-E

How: Banned is anything that shoots over 150 ft, for safety reasons. If you think a gun is questionable (SM5K, Titan, homemades, or others), bring it, and we will take a look at it. Chances are it will be a no to the usual banned weapons, but if your homemade shoots a reasonable range (ie 50-100ft) than chances are we will allow it. If anyone doesn't want you using it, it will be banned

Protective eyewear (ie sunglasses) mandatory

Please be sure to bring as many darts as humanly possible. I will be bringing around 200. Also, mark your darts with a letter with sharpie, not all FBR is created equal.

We will be playing most of the standard games, deathmatch, team deathmatch, CTF, pistol wars, etc. I am open to reasonable suggestions for games when we get there. Teams will be randomly chosen.

Where: Menotomy Rocks Park, Arlington, MA

Directions:
From outside Boston take I-95 to Exit 29A, Route 2 East. Proceed on Route 2 to exit 59A, Pleasant Street. Make a left onto Pleasant Street. At Massachusetts Ave. make a left heading west toward Lexington. Make a left at Jason Street. Proceed on Jason Street through a four-way stop at the Gray Street intersection. Menotomy Rocks Park will be on your right on Jason Street. You will see a wrought iron fence, a stone wall with a small sign, a bulletin board and an open field.

Sweet. Well, obviously i'm in. I'll be bringing around 150 stefans, and around 20 stock darts, just for kicks. I'll be bringing my Sm1500, SF, 2 NF's, Triple shot (reserve), Max shot (to be modded with the brass i'm getting there), and probably my Powerclip, if someone can find a way to fix it. Also with me will be my trusty glue gun, some sort of work cover, glue, electrical tape, files, screwdrivers, and all the modding tools that i can collect from my garage. I'll probably think of something else to bring, but it probably won't be significant.

*EDIT* user, we should make eyewear mandatory. Someone should bring a couple extra pairs just in case, however. No one wants to get hit in the eye with a stefan.

*EDIT #2* I doubt that Yazz will be on NH in the near future, but i KNOW that he is coming. Unfortunately for him, the only gun that works that he owns is an sm5k, and he is currently using a copper barrel, and it gets around 115 max with 4 pumps. He hopes to get brass from me...

*EDIT #3* Jb, how many people are you bringing/not bringing? Just curious about the number of people, yet again. I think it will be awsome as is, but more people=more fun in my eyes.

As previously said, I only have an SM5K. I may not come though, it's 90% chance i will though. I currently own zero to nill stefans. Yea, and my buddy is deprived of guns and may not come.

FG, I want an un-modded AT3K and i'd be willing to buy one from you

I'll bring 2 or so Nite Finders, Eyewear, an ammo belt and some tools. I don't get what's with all the long lists.

I haven't made many stefans in my time. I only have about 50. Tops. I can bring those and make some more too...

Arlington is a great location for me. I might also be able to convince my neighboor to come and take his PC.

I can't go to the war. I had minor surgery scheduled for either this week or the next. It's illegal (or something) to not give a patient notice about an operation any less than 1 week in advance. One week ago, when my mother told me about the surgery being scheduled, I misunderstood and figured that she was just giving me 2 weeks warning. I'm sorry... I want to come!

Althought the turn out was low, it was a blast. The hasbro team drove up stopped by, and they were really nice. We got to see the production firefly and dart tag. These guns look like they have a lot of potential, especially the dart tag. They also had lots of free goodies which was much appreciated. Yazz, I especially liked your headshot on me in the woods. It was good, hope it happens again with better turnout. Thanks a lot cheifthe and the hasbro team, the pizza and guns were great. Although I didn't get one, those extra PCs were awesome. Good to have you join us.

We (TS, Me, and my frind) got there at 10:20. There was no one there at all. NOB arrived at 10:45 and FG arrived at 11. We talked and screwed around a bit and then started playing one flag CTF while still waiting. There is some explaning to be done here. Especially from User. Tisk Tisk. The field was great and we would like to go back there around Labor Day. If people want to start throwing out dates for around then that would be great. And people, remember to come this time. And Arcanis, please dont break anything. Buckets of thanks all around to Hasbro for...ahem...drumroll please...previewing the FIREFLY (w00t) and the DART TAG (w00t X 2). They were MOST impressive. You guys kick arse, for bringing us pizza, water and most of all GUNS. That is right, we got free shit. Power Clips, Nite Finders, Mavericks, Shirts, and most of all, complete N-Strikes. Over all, a good time was had by all, except User who will be punished in any ay we see fit. Heh heh.

I dunno; it just started hurting really badly a few months ago and it never went away. I went in for a muscular X-ray and apparently a tendon? was "misaligned on the bone" or some nonsense like that. I just had the operation today. Gas is fun.

Hey guys, sorry I missed the war, I unfortunately got in a car accident and have been in the hospital for the past two weeks, just got back home today. Looks like I missed out on a lot of fun and free stuff. Hope everything went well and hopefully I'll be able to attend the next one.
