I think that up to this point Hasbro's policy was to use triangle-head screws on any gun with electrical components - such as the aforementioned electric eel and comlink, and I'm pretty sure they were on the Eagle Eye as well. It makes sense to discourage cocky 12 year olds from trying to mod guns with electrical components, if for no other reason than to assuage concerned parents.

That is the best logic I've heard from the NIC in the past few months.

It might be the best logic, but I'm pretty sure it's wrong. Eagle Eye had Phillips screws. Either way, I don't think you're going to have to worry about it, electrical guns or otherwise.

WTF are you talking about?

OMC & Talio gave us information on these guns, while cheifthe gave us information on the Maverick. We'll still have information. Torch didn't tell us anything.

Well I'm not the one to talk, but it has a plunger equal to or bigger than a NF. But, it also has a turret, and a turret doesn't have as much power as would a gun with a single shot coming right out of the plunger(beacause of the seal). I would say it would have ranges slightly less than a NF or on par with a NF. But thats just me..

The NF had electic stuff, did it have triangle screws?

I ask this because my NF is now in a scout, I dont think I kept the screws.

Footemps - If your not sure if it was asked before....

WHY THE HELL DID YOU ASK AND NOT SEARCH FIRST?

This is not a friendly reminder. Doing so is against the CoC and technically, if you actually read it, you'd see this little nugget.

If you break any of the above rules, the NerfHaven staff can, and very likely will, delete your account with little or no warning.

In other words, alot of you have gotten lazy about this. Read the Coc, it's your bible, live by it or else heads are going to start rolling.

Shotty - For the most part, I'd expect stock ranges to be about the same as most of the stock guns we've seen. I know they use the same process for the power of the gun for all of them, so I wouldn't expect to see much past what we normally see. However, for our purposes, it's potential power we're concerned with, and there's no real way to tell. I believe at some point Nerf told us they normally try to get the guns shooting around 30 feet, which is superb for stock weapons.

Uncle Hammer - No, your not one to talk, so don't. Don't start bashing a gun untill you know what it can do. Really, what you said was a WAG and had little to no backing. Don't take it personally, but I just want everyone to know, that it's 100% speculation. If anything, as stated above, they need to make a dart perform in a certian way, and it does. Your somewhat on the right track, but your a little off in one place. It takes more power to shoot a dart from a turret, in most cases, because the air isn't consitantly funneled directly into a barrel. O rings help, but as we all know, it's not the best seal. So if anything, the internals would have to be MORE powerful on a multibarreled gun. Forgive me for playing devils advocate, but if you were to single barrel it....who knows? Keep it in mind before you seal this ones fate.

NerforBust - Read the damn thread before you post to it. Chief clearly said that they use phillips, not to mention you got your NF apart, so it's probably Phillips. Think before you post. That's loosely in the Coc as well.

Hammer & Shotty:

The NiteFinder is about the best we can have a blaster perform based on our energy constraints (I described what our limits are in an ealier post in another thread), so we can't do any better than that. We're claiming 30 feet on the box (that's from 1 meter high at 35 degrees).

footemps:

The seal is better than that on the Maverick. Other than that, the rotational parts are very similar.

Sorry Tailo but I DID SEARCH. I didn't come up with any specifics aside from "it's similar to the maverick system". I was just covering my ass in case I overlooked something.

MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T ASSUME I DON'T SEARCH

Chiefthe, just wondering about the darts... I know they will be micros, but how will they glow? Are you making the dart tips glow or are you going with the glow-in-the-dark tape strips to be put around each dart? Just curious...

I've heard two different things about this, and now it's got me curious. Are the rails on the top that OMC pointed out in his pic going to be utilized with the Titan or something else, or are they just for show?

This might be slightly off-topic, but since our Hasbro friend is posting in this thread, I thought I might as well point this out.

Did you guys think we were gonna take the Maverick seriously? Yeah, the shell is insanely cool, and it was way overhyped, but the performance was subpar. We know that we are NOT your target consumers, but isn't it just a little bit necessary to give us something to work with? Unless you hid some secret in the gun that unlocks its true potential, isn't it kind of obvious that after a community was started arround your toys, that you would at least make the Mav's plunger a little bigger? I mean, look at the Nite Finder, it's magnificent, yet you guys failed to place that beast of a gun into the insanely cool Mav.

I know it looks like I'm complaining, and as a not well respected member here I shouldn't post like this, but I needed to get that off my chest. I know every experienced member of the NIC (at least half a year) fails to recognize the Mav as a efficient gun, (yet the new people use it quite a bit :P ) so why was it made so, what's the word...mediocre.

Well, my 898 letters, and I know I am only gonna get just as many flames...

Now On Topic: OMC, Talio, or Chiefthe, I know you all have used the Firefly, and this might of been adressed, but not as detailed. I asked in the last thread if it was a good size, and you said it was, but I need details. Especially since the gun looks so scrunched into a small package from the picture. Does it feel like a rifle? Or rather a sub-machine gun like thing? If someone with about a 3 foot arm was to hold it, how would it feel? Would the stock go under the arm? I know it sounds like a lot of questions, but I just meant not to leave any details untouched. This way, it won't be asked later.

Hasbro's goal, if I'm not mistaken, is to release a fun and safe out of the box experience for kids. In my opinion the Mav fills this goal far better than many past guns.

What in the world makes you think that they want to give you "something to work with"? Not only are you not the target customer, you're not even on the fucking radar screen. If you don't want to use the thing, don't buy it. If you can't mod it, look to yourself rather than Hasbro.

Above all, show a little gratitude for the recent trend of the engineers being willing to give us sneak previews and answer questions about upcoming guns.

Asshole.

I modded it, and got the equivalent of most experienced moders. Except, I didn't chop up the barrel to add better barrels.

Above all, show a little gratitude for the recent trend of the engineers being willing to give us sneak previews and answer questions about upcoming guns.

I seriously meant to add that. I thought I did, but as always, deleted my whole post by previewing and then hitting back. I must of left that out in the new-draft.

Asshole.

Point taken.

Starbuck:

The dart tips glow and there is a sticker that wraps around the dart.

Enigma:

The rail is the 'male' from the N-Strike line, but due to geometry, the Firefly can't be attached to the Titan. We designed it this way on purpose because the Firefly is too big of a blaster to attach Scout-style to the Titan.

Davis:

We don't and can't design for you. We have a number of rules that we must follow as I have previously posted about. Plastic is expensive.

Dims: Approx. 16" x 9" x 3.5"

Feel is subjective. I am an engineer. Objective questions only.
