Thanksgiving Weekend War

Toms River, New Jersey

----------------------------------

Great war everyone. As far as I know everyone enjoyed themselves and we had plenty of people go out of their way to make the day fun for everyone. Pistol rounds were especially intense, with some serious dodging. Sadly we didn't even talk about doing the CTF round I wanted to do, oh well. We all seemed pretty intent on fitting in as many rounds as possible. Which worked.

We had some new blood, J.Atti. He had fun and got a few kills. He was also a favorite target for some. Seige was okay, however I don't think that field was "perfect" for it. It offered too much cover in most cases to the attackers... which ruins the idea of seige haha**.

Can't wait for the next one. My left leg is dead. Godspeed.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner... all out with the Nerf guys. It was a good time.

** Sorry I ruined the seige round. I said it was 5 minutes long. Normally it's 10 I think for when we play it. My mental lapse. Even if it didn't matter because we gave up the playground for the families and such.

Great war.

Hardly any arguements. We got along so well today. We did cool stuff, and I fogot how much I liked playing in Jersey.

Pistol rounds where great today. I never go for pistol rounds. I normally am all but dead set against them, but today I was ready to go. Anyway, tommorow while I'm at work I'll write up a little more in depth about storys and funny shit, cause there was a hell of a lot of cool stuff that happened.

Great war. I was glad to see everyone again before next spring since I probably won't make it to Reckoning this year, and it was cool meeting J.Atti. The new park is really cool aside from having to stop for civilians all the time. Sorry if I caused us to leave earlier than we wanted to, especially after I ended up coming back anyway. I had a really good time, and I’m looking forward to (hopefully?) having Apoc at the same location.

I don't know about that. Did you see all that crap we were wading through...now put leaves on those...possibly poison ivy, add 50 degrees (if we're lucky) and horrid humidity that people have been known to drown in, while having a round where whoever gets the most ticks wins. In other words...I'm not really interested in playing at this place over the summer. Not my war, but I think Millcreek should remain the Apoc location, just because it's more suited for large scale anyway.

Reckoning: Maybe @ Winding River
Apoc: Always @ Mill Creek

Glad to hear everyone liked John and the war. All the LCM guys seemed to agree when I talked to them afterwards as well.

Yes, I agree, J. Atti is a good person to nerf with. It was generally a great war had by all. Good to see everyone again.

personally, I would like to see Reckoning at Tindall or Mill Creek, cause I'm just not a fan of walking 1000 miles between rounds back to my stuff. And not for nothing, I just wasn't feeling the park. I agree with Talio about the swamp and the ticks. I guess I'm just more of a fan of Tindall and Mill Creek.

Well I don't want a summer war at Winding River, I think that is out of the question. But Reckoning I'm up to have anywhere really, however maybe Tindall would be better since it has good dynamic terrain and we can all pretty much get there with ease.

I'm up to have Reckoning there. But we'll talk about that later.

Glad to see everyone had fun.

Like I said before I probably won't make it to Reckoning since I'll be going on a trip in january, so if you guys don't mind hosting a war at my park, Tindall's fine, but I won't be setting anything up.

Yeah Millcreek sounds good for Reckoning...it will probably be the last time we play there untill Apoc anyway. After that, Hersh and I will probably do pre-spring war...Horsemen will probably do something in May, I'd like to see some more shit in the summer time, and then Apoc and Gnomefest to close it out. Winding River had some good shit, but I think Millcreek probably has a better chance for when it's ass cold outside.

I'm sure we'll do another war at deal sometime in the spring or summer at the very latest. Everybody seemed to really enjoy themselves there, and I think we can improve upon the experience with what we've learned from last time.

In response to Hersh's comment earlier concerning walking back to your shit. The way we usually handle that at big parks is just to bring the shit you need in a backpack and take it with you between rounds. I mean, as long as you don't get the bright idea to drag a cooler around (live and learn) it works pretty well.

Yea, no more lugging coolers. I think next time at Winding River, the backbacking idea is better. We only played on 1/2 the field.

How does everyone feel about the January war also being held at Winding River? I doubt we'll have the same number of regular park go-ers show up. The field I felt was good, and come a month and a half from now the leaves won't swallow as many darts.

Well Phil, just like how we organized around college vacations, we can organize around your vacation. From when to when will you be away?

This round there will be a CTF round without any funny rules. Just regular drop the flag when you're hit - it's up to your team to return it CTF. No dropping it near places. Just regular CTF. I'll make some flags with flagging tape and PVC.

He's going to be gone like the first two weeks in January, which is the only ammount of time Shinny has off. Also I'd appreciate an early war as well due to the fact that I have school starting second week in January. I asked for the same thing last year and no one so much as flintched fuckers!

About the CTF, yeah that way it will work just like it always does, whoever can break away wins. We've yet to find a good way to do it past the Horsemens spring war, which kinda worked. My version did work, because the whole point was you had enough cover that if your flag carrier got hit, it's your own fucking fault if you didn't have someone near by to pick it up, thus stopping the retarded grab and run. It works in other games like paintball because you can't out run a paintball gun. There wouldn't have been any problem there if you hadn't got shot and been such a whinny bitch about it.

I'm going to start a Reckoning topic. I just realized it was December 1st, and if we're going to have a January war in the first half of the month it couldn't hurt to start planning dates and such, as well as discuss possible matchtypes.
