Yep, I've made a Homemade Mini Vortex football launcher. EASILY fires 200+ feet(angled). It fires 161 feet level. I love it. I'll get some pictures up soon. Here is stat list.
Material- 2 inch PVC
Valve- Solenoid
Range- 150+
Ammo- Mini Vortex footballs
P.S. Before anyone says this, yes, it's essentally a "Spudgun".

Yea, I made a spud gun a while ago and shot one of those mini nerf balls with the fins on it out. I had my brother go long to try and catch it. That will give you hours of fun.
I once saw an old lady slip and fall on a sidewalk and i laughed. Then i thought, what if i was an ant and she fell on me. Then it didn't seem quite so funny.

Oh, and what kind of vortex did you use, a pocket vortex? I can think of another model that would fit in 2" PVC
