I posted this at Feb 18th, 14:12 lets see when it gets posted. Fuck this TFG group

There's a new FB group to help try and ease the load and pick the best dates for everyone, and to gain feedback!
Join here to get better updates for NYC area nerfers

The war starts AT THE FIELD 10:00 am EST, Saturday March 18th.

It may be rainy or snowy. No rain date, bring extra clothes just in case. Nerf in the rain is fun anyway,

LOCATION
Exact coordinates are : 40.782278, -73.963951
Put that into google maps, we're going to MEET here and start playing. People who've been to past wars know where it is.

DIRECTIONS

However, Google maps will take you to the Met (find a way here than get over to the waypoint on the map below).
So get to the met and than follow this photo.

Here is the EXACT place you should meet us. Like somewhere close to the fence near the highway, you should be able to find it.

RULES
1)Don't be a dick. We'll ask you to leave, just cooperate and listen
2)Anything you do that impedes the movement of the dart is a hit. From your shoelace to your blaster, to the fluffs of your hair and your loose t shirt.
3) Don't dartsweep until the rounds over. If you're dead or waiting to spawn, you don't dartsweep. You may if you're alive, but the field has to be cleared so there's no confusion of who's in or not.
4) I'm not going to outright ban any blaster, but you shouldn't be doing more than 150 FPS.
5) Call your hits. Cheating is despised and won't be tolerated,
6) No physical violence, common sense applies. Don't do what you don't want to be done unto you. There's a police station next to where we play
All rules will be stated again on site to clarify.

WHAT TO BRING?
-Yourself (plus ones if possible)
-WATER
-Good attitude
-Darts (lots, 100 at least I would say)
-EYEPROTECTION!
-Blaster(s) (loaners expected, not guaranteed)  ESP a magless and maybe awful
-Money (for food or water if needed) There will be an after party

GAMETYPES (will be explained on site)
Zack The Mack will have an updated list!
Expect 3-15 and other nerfhaven gametypes!

Rounds are going to be shorter and fast paced, so we can have more rounds. Long drawn out rounds have not worked because there was so much attempted dart sweep

I'll be there. When you say magless, are turretted blasters fine? Or does it need to be single shot?

Sounds good. I'll start looking for a fearless fire then.

I guess I'll do the first recap. We ran a good mix of 3-15, pistols, attack and defend, and an escort mission. The terrain was a little tricky (There was about 4 inches of snow on everything), but not too bad. The weather held off for most of the day, and the cold wasn't to bad. The water was deforming rival balls a bit, but didn't seem to be causing jams.

Pros:

HARAMBE!!!!!!!!!!

Nemesis has infinite balls

Escort Missions

Push CTF

Minimal sleet

Cons:

Snow is slippery

Snow is wet

My hop-up is semi-fucked

All in all, a great war!

This was the first war I've run, and seeing everyone have a good time filled me with feels.

Upsides:

  • New Rapidstrike firmware was a beast
  • "Sticks and stones" pistol/shotgun/bow/melee 5-15 FFA rounds were balanced and intense
  • Improved flag push rules were a blast
  • There was a guy in a gorilla suit
  • Got to field-test a Nemesis and it's god-tier
  • Tactical tactics were real. Lots of sick plays and great teamfights.
  • Good mixture of cover and exposure
  • Nice and dry up to the end
  • Improved Harambe Defense VIP rules played great

Downsides:

  • Hard to control a Rapidstrike trigger in ski gloves
  • Still figuring out the best defender spawn time in flag push
  • Ekind waffle 'drats' kept wearing out
  • Reloading six mags in the cold sucks
  • Like a thousand Rival balls everywhere, took ages to sweep up
  • NYCNO field is getting stale. We're looking for a spicy new battlefield

lmao we're doing recaps now
as i get older, or at least in this hobby I start to feel and experience what other vets do and I start to give less fucks, hence skipping my war for an SAT and bringing almost nothing but still doing great.
I'm with you guys on finding a new field, I'm just too damn lazy busy to do it. I think David's been finding just good random places to play with casual stuff.

pros

- dodging like half a nemesis hopper

- harambe was awesome

- that one round where we were nazis and i somehow carried my team

- harambe always saving my life from full auto spam

- always ready to go
- i did not slip because of all the experience I had playing in these conditions
- new people! again!

cons
- eww shit got wet. (there's only one thing i like wet ;)  )

- i agree this field is getting OLD
- waiting for everyone to get ready lmao

fuck dude I'm really feeling the old in nerf
