Hey gang, last thread on this topic is a few years old, so per forum rules I'm kicking off a new discussion in hopes of getting some newer information.
So there have been quite a few mentions of Dupli-Color Vinyl Dye in the forums, but I've only been able to find Dupli-Color Fabric & Vinyl COATING. It sounds to be a completely different product, since the concept of dyeing is quite different from coating. So what happened to the vinyl dye?
I've also read a few positive mentions of SEM vinyl dye. I'm mostly interested because it's available in many more colors. However, similar to the Dupli-Color conundrum, I am only able to find the SEM Color Coat for Vinyl. Again -- coat instead of dye. The product description even goes as far as to insist that "Color Coat is not a dye, but a fade resistant flexible and permanent coating." What gives? I'm pretty confused now.
Has anyone used both SEM and Dupli-Color? What are your experiences with them? Comparable? And I'm hoping that everyone still agrees that dye-ing blasters' ABS is superior to just painting it.
Thanks for all your input.
